I have a brand new travel trailer. One of the very first things I did was change the outside compartment locks. Yes, it it is true they are just a deterrent but, it makes you feel better that most everyone else does not have the same KEY. These seem to be very well made locks and very easy to install.

i give the product door lock 5 stars but i give camping world 1 star for a really bad description of the product.. the 5/8 refers to the length of the cam shaft not knowing this i thought it was cam thickness. Sure i should have know better but it cost me Shipping Costs of $9.00 because of a very poor description by CW... Had they added Shank Length it would have saved me money.....Yes, i can send it or take it back to CW and i will however i will still be out the shipping cost coming, going, or gas to get to CW... could have been prevented.

Test you storage lock key on any other storage locks on other trailers or motor homes . Does your key open their locks? Well in turn their key will open your storage compartment lock. Do I think these changing of locks important ? If you leave your expensive equipment locked in a compartment in a lot or a storage facility, what can happen. Want to take a chance for a few dollars? I did not, so I installed these locks. Make your own test! Better safe then sorry.
