A few years ago our TV fried. The repair shop said they have had a lot of RV TVs come in because of voltage fluctuation and suggested we install computer back-up batteries to protect our TVs. We did this and felt we were OK. We also began to use a portable 30A surge protector This year we bought the 50A hard wired Surge Guard. We had this installed in our motorhome this summer. The electrician read the data on the Surge Guard and said it is interesting it protects from drops in voltage. He said he was impressed. We then went for a 3 week vacation at a park we've used for many years. We had never had any problems with the parks electrical system, that we knew of. Afterall, we had the computer batteries and a 30 amp surge protector. That night around supper time we lost power. We checked the park breaker, it was OK. However, the Surge Guard's lights were telling us we had a low voltage problem. It waited until the park voltage came back up and it gave us power again. Throughout that holiday, the voltage in the park would rise and fall at breakfast time and supper time, when people started preparing meals. Each time the Surge Guard took us off line until things settled down. Then I understood the TV repair shop's comment about voltage fluctuation in RV parks. Thankfully our RV and its appliances were protected. I would never have an RV without the Hard Wired 50 amp Surge Guard. THANK YOU SURGE GUARD!

I have been out 1 time since I installed this on my Four Winds Super C, and I was satisfied with how it worked. The instructions were easy to follow and the installation was simple. A word of caution - as other reviewers have stated - be very sure that if you are not just cutting your existing wire and installing this in-line that you are using wire rated for 50 amps. Go to your local hardware store and ask for wire able to handle 50 amps and spend the money to get what you need. Be safe.

This is my second purchase of this particular surge guard. I had this same item installed on my previous RV and it worked perfectly. After selling my previous RV and purchasing a new one I purchased the same surge guard to protect my new RV.

Easy to install, this surge supressor is easy to install where it is locked away from theft and environmental dangers. The previous one I used filled with water during heavy rain resulting in failure of the device. This is a much better design.

If you do install this yourself Check a wiring chart to make sure you use the right wire size for the 50 AMP system.DO NOT UNDER SIZE THE FIELD INSTALLED WIRING
