This is the most versitale and lightweight grill we have ever used. The stove grate and griddle are really great add ons. My wif...e always wanted to use the portable outside gas stove until I bought the Coleman RoadTrip Grill. Cleans up very quick and very easy to operate. Great Product !!!! It goes camping with us all the time..
We just purchased this grill from camping world last month. I had done a lot of online research on portable gas grills and decided... this was the one. I was not disappointed. The price was the best I could find plus free shipping...what a deal. We used it over the 4th of July holiday and it is fantastic. I purchased 2 griddle plates separately and I couldn't be happier. It is very stable, easy to assemble, clean up of the griddles was a breeze, the only drawback at all was clean up of the grids that it comes with, they are baked enamel and even after spraying with cooking spray a booger to clean. Still this could replace your home outdoor gas grill it is that perfect. It made my trip!! I highly recommend this grill for all Rv'ers and tailgaters out there. It heats quickly and cooks evenly everytime. Not to mention it is beautiful. I was the envy of the campground. Several people stopped by to ask about it and where they could get one. One person was so envious because he said he had searched everywhere to buy one and they can not be found they have gotten so popular. I felt very lucky to have it.
We purchased one at the GNARVR in Redmond, Oregon last month. It works great but is a little big to fit in any storage bay on our ...DP. It cooks great and we enjoy it but I kind of wish we had compared closer with the Thermos Grill 2 Go. It may have fit better in the bay. I have to close the hatch on the wheel and eventually that will cause damage to the wheel (probably) or the hatch.
We wanted a portable grill to use primarily as an outside cookstove and looked all of the models out there. This one doesn't disa...ppoint. We've used it roughly 10 trips/year for the past 2 years, several times per trip. I can cook anything on the grill that I can cook on the inside stove. When we use it as a grill (vs. stove), I make sure to line the bottom section with foil to ease clean-up. My only complaint about this version vs. older ones is that the bottom tray doesn't come out for cleaning. However, as I said earlier, it's easily remedied by foil. Unlike other posters, we haven't had any trouble with breakage or rust.
The only thing that keeps it from getting 5 stars is not being able to remove the bottom tray for cleaning. We happily recommend this grill without hesitation.

We recently purchased this grill, it is fantastic to grill on.. I use both the small bottles of butane and I also have a 20 gallon... lp tank. This grill cooks so great and large amounts for big groups. I have had no problem adjusting the heat or cooking or cleaning it. It cleans up easy if you take care of it. It sets up easily , is a nice height, and the wheels make it easy to move around. I only need to clean out some of my basement space in my motor home to put it in instead of on the v bed or queen bed to carry it with me. The only down fall I see with my grill is it is so darn heavy to lift into a basement space or inside the motor home for an elderly person. It seems like it could have been made lighter for better mobility. But for the Most part I just LOVE my Coleman grill.
I received this grill as a gift and it is the best product that I ever received. I have mine hooked to a 20 gallon propane tank a...nd it really makes cooking easy. Also have all of the accessories. I did just purchase from the Coleman outlet a full griddle that fits my Coleman grill also even though mine is an older model. We use this on every camping trip we make.
I have owned several portable grills that I carried in my motorhome or 5th wheel trailer. most were combersome and didn't cook ev...enly all over the grill surface.
The Coleman RoadTrip LXE Grill is by far the best portable grill I have owned. It cooks evenly all around the grill. Altitude doesn't effect the cooking capabilities of it and it folds down into a easiy moved and stored unit. I just love it and highly recommend it to the traveling chef.

This is a good all around grill for camping. It folds up compact enough to be stored in the basement of a fifth wheel or motor hom...e and is easily cleaned . It is also versitile because of the accessaries that are made for it . You can get the griddle for outdoor frying or the eye that can be used with a pot or pan . The griddle is especially good for things like bacon that smells up the inside of a camper .The only thing even slightly bad , is that it doesn't give the food as much of a smokey flavor as some grills . We would definitely recomend this grill to anyone that is camping or tailgating.
the grill broke apart and i couldn't find parts so i called coleman to say what was on my mind and when i did they were so helpfu...l that it was unreal they sent new parts at no cost to me it was great to deal with COLEMAN . THANK YOU
This grill is everything expected and more. Perfect for RVing, camping, boating, tailgating and everyday use. With 20000 BTUs of c...ooking power and dual burners my husband has grilled the "Perfect" meal over and over. Lightweight and protable...excellent purchase, we highly recommend!
We just bought this and took it for a one week trip. I liked the easy assembly and that it seems really well built. We like that i...t has wheels and is at a good height for standing and cooking. We didn't have to give up table space to grill which we liked. It has hot spots in some places which made it difficult to cook evenly-don't like that challenge much. We are hoping to get used to it and avoid that problem in the future. My biggest complaint was that I had to clean that thing after each use and even though we used Pam spray ahead of time it was really a challenge to clean. So after only a week of use it now has some oils that will not come off (don't like that much). Oh well, it's a grill so not too big of a deal. I think I'm going to buy a cheap plastic bucket that will fit the grill surface inside to soak it after cooking and take some time away from scrubbing. Overall, it seems good for camping, tail gaiting or grilling at the park.
The LXE works great and has all the right attachments. We grill staks and vegetables with the same great results. The instructions... say not to close the lids while fire is lit. I should have read first. I am used to cleaning a grill by closing the lid for a few minutes. No handle now. Also, it is just a little too large for the compartments on my DP. No pass-through.
a bit cumbersome........ cant get the trays to stay 'clipped " in.....
falls down to ground when rolling it
otherwise coo...ks nicely.......... a lot of area to cook
lites real easy
love it except for that tray problem
I love my Coleman grill. The bad thing I found with it is not easily stored in my motor home. The weight of it makes it hard to ma...neuver for a person 66 plus years old . My basement storage on the front part of the motor home is to small to store so we store it inside on the seat or bed when we travel close by. When I go long distances I don't take it along to heavy to motivate. Excellant to cook on though, and small bottle of fuel is ideal.
Love it otherwise.
We really do love this grill, except for the cleaning. We lined the bottom with heavy duty foil, which helps a lot! We sprayed the... grills with cooking spray, which helps quite a bit, but you still need to clean it after every use. Other than that, it is an awesome BBQ! We see people with the same model on every trip and they all have the same comments: Love The Grill/Hate The Cleaning!
I purchased my Coleman Roadtrip LXE Grill for my Father's Day gift
from my wife for 2007. I knew our trips for the summer would... just be
starting for long weekends as well as our 10 day planned family
reunion in the Great Smoky Mountains. I purchased the eye for
cooking with pots as well as the rolling storage bag and the cast iron
griddle (1/2 size--13) since I'm the primary cook while on vacation. I
was able to cook bacon and pancakes on the griddle while using
pots and pans for other items on the other burner. My wife
commented she liked the size of the eye which easily held her 5 quart
pot for vegetables during other meals and wants me to get another
eye for additional pots for future trips. (Our stove for our camper can
only accomodate one pot at the time.) After our trip, my wife told me
she thought I had lost my mind about buying another camping stove (I
have four others from the past 20+ years of various sizes, BTU ratings
and number of burners that I use in volunteer work and other camping
endeavors), but, that this had been the best one and most versatile
one purchased yet.
we have had our grill for two years and I like it better each time I slide it out of the 5th wheel storeage the folks in our GOO...DSAMS chapter allso like it as they allways ask to use it . we just did the cooking at CAMPING WORLD for grilling days they had most of there grills set up to use . guess witch one we did our cookin on ? I will not trade it in for any other grill for camping it is easy to store in the 5th wheel for me . the ladys may ask for some help though to lift it in to the storage . but there is allways a good camper she can ask to lift it. I even use it at home sometimes ! GO GET ONE YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!!! Tom S.
My kids and I have used the RoadTrip for the last nine months of pop-up camping. For the most part, it's an excellent grill. We ...bought the wheeled carry case, which makes it easy to pack up the kit and move it around. There are two major problems. (1) Hook-up to a standard propane tank. I have yet to figure out how to hook it up to a standard propane tank and the instruction manual are woefully lacking regarding this issue; (2) Teflon-coated aluminum grates melted. We bought the Teflon-coated aluminum grates from Coleman's website, which were great [at first] and made cooking and clean up much easier. The problem is that they melted—with dinner on the grill—and that was potentially a very serious safety issue. We still have the original cast iron grates, so at least we can still use the grill. I've noticed that the Teflon-coated aluminum grates are no longer available from the Coleman website. We still use the Teflon-coated griddle, but am a little reluctant based on the melting problem.
I have been using the Road Trip Grill for two seasons now and have had no issues with the grill. The trick is to maintain and kee...p the grill clean. The griddle plate that is available from coleman is the best for cooking breakfast.
We purchased our grill a year ago with several additional pieces (griddle plates, cooktop plate, rolling cover, etc) and have full...y enjoyed it! It never flames up while cooking and foods cook evenly. In this model, it is not necessary to put water in the bottom as it has a drain pan. It is easy to clean and stores nicely in the case. We use it when we tailgate at football games and Mardi Gras; we use it while camping as our primary cooking source. Steaks, burgers and hot dogs on the grill plates; fish, reubens, chicken wings, bacon and pancakes on the griddles, steamed veggies, barbecue sauce and coffee on the cooktop plate.
I found the grill to be a great addition to my gear. Works well and is well designed. Camping world however shipped a used grill t...hat arrived damaged. They did replace said grill
immediately with another one that arrived damaged in the exact same way. They have been my worst nightmare as far as bonuses and memberships. I am Canadian and everything arrives late. Again the grill 10 out of 10.
Very impressed with the overall look, space on the grill surface, space saving aspect, and
the ease of it. Was a little disappoi...nted that it didn't come with the accessories. l thought
it did. After recieving the grill, l noticed there is one that does come with the accessories,
l thought that was the one l ordered. Still love the grill and purchased the accessories
separately. Happy Camper.
I’ve found it to be an excellent grill that is easy to use, store and maintain. When you
buy one go ahead and buy the double gri...ddle plat, it’s a must have that will only
enhance your camping experience. The only fault I’ve found is the lid fastener. It’s not
tight enough and will open when stored vertically. Great job Coleman on a great design
for a grill!!
We've had this grill for a little while (got it for Christmas) and I love it EXCEPT that even on the low setting the flame is not ...as low as I think it should (or could) be. If anyone has any ideas about how to adjust this I'm willing to try it. Love that you can get extra griddle tops, grill tops, or any combination.
We loved our new Coleman Road Trip LXE grill. It got a great first
workout with hamburgers and trip tip on our trip to the NAS...CAR races
in Fontana, CA on Labor Day weekend '07. It performed superb!
Heated evenly and cooked them wonderfully. Clean up was a
breeze. The storage bag with the wheels...AWESOME idea! We have
yet to use the griddles yet...next time...breakfast of pancakes!! The
convenience of easy to use, quick and easy clean up and the rolling
storage bad make this BBQ a good buy!
I have had the grill for three years and have had no problems with it. I
have never used the screw on bottle though as I am gues...sing other
reviewers used. I have always used the adapter hose with a 20lb or
30lb tank. I have all the grill tops and love this grill. The only thing
negative is cleaning it is a pain as with all grills. When not in use after
it cools I can put it under the travel trailer or roll it into a bag to keep it
dry. It sets inside the doorway when traveling, last thing in first thing
We've had the grill for about a year now, the only negatives I have is the wheels are wobbly and they put a plastic handle on the ...lid so you cannot grill with the lid down as it will melt. All else has been great, no worse to clean than any other grill and everywhere we go with our
camping groups people come up, look at it and say "I like that I'm going to buy one". It is especially versatile with the grill and the griddle plates, bacon, sausage, eggs and pancakes in the am, steak etc. in
We bought our grill in Feb 07 and finally got to use it in May. After
reading all the negative reviews I was really dreading cl...eaning it and
didn't until now when we're getting ready to go out again.
First we are very happy with it's performance. We fixed steaks and
cheddar brauts and they came out as perfect as our big grill at home.
So now to the cleaning part. I sprayed on a common multi-purpose
cleaner and literally wiped the grill clean. I put the grates in the
dishwasher and they came out clean with no pre treating.
We also chose it due to being lighter weight than some of the other
grills. The fact that it has a folding stand frees up space in the cargo
area. It has a good size cooking area. All we need now are the
connectors to connect it to the rvq and run it from the camper tanks.
Another issue I read but haven't experienced is broken wheels. After
being the assembler of what little needed to be done, if a wheel does
break, they are easily replacable and a sturdier wheel can be
purchased at you local hardware store. That's real light action.
We love our grill and will recommend it to anyone
We got our road trip grill in March. We have used it a whole lot and
just love it. Cook everything on it and clean up is a breez...e. I guess
they fixed the handle melting problem as i cook all the time with the lid
down and handle is just fine. It has some kind of heat shield between
the handle and the lid. And the instructions says nothing about not
cooking with the lid down.
We bought the Coleman Roadtrip Grill because our Travel Trailer has a propane hook-up just for this type of product. We love cooki...ng breakfast and dinner on it. The griddle is a great add on. The grates clean up in a snap and I don't think the rest of the grill is that hard to clean. We love the fact that it folds flat enough that we can store it in the front traler compartment.
Have had this grill for 2 years and we love it. Yes it is a pain to clean but it is has so many features and different parts to a...dd and making cooking a breeze. Have never used the stove in my camper.
We just got our grill a couple of weeks ago and it cooks great. It sets
up easily and is very easy to put up and down. The only ...problem that
we have with the grill is the lock on the lid. We folded the grill down
and was rolling it on the side walk and the lock came undone and the
grill plates fell out and landed on the side walk!! Maybe Coleman
needs to do a recall on the locks and fix them so the lids will stay
shut. Other than the lock problem, this is a great little grill. I also
ordered the grill cover to make it easy for carrying and storage in our
motor home. I am looking forward to many years of grilling with our
Road Trip. Happy Camping!!
After reading previous reviews, I worried that this grill would be work intensive. My worries worry unfounded. From the easy ass...embly to the clean up (I used aluminum foil around the burners in the pan) this is a great grill for RVing. Easy to stow when grilling is done.
Nice little grill, but I have problems cooking on the cast grate.Maybe as someone else mentioned, it might be cooking hotter than ...you think, but I have alot of food sticking to the solid areas of the grate.I wish they made a stainless wire rack to grill on in place of the grate.
I have owned this grill for several years. It has been through a lot. Winters outside, rolling around in back of truck, greasy bur...gers, and the marathon trip to an amusement park where it fed 57 people burgers for lunch. The silver pans around the burners rusted out, but I am sure it is due to the way it was used and abused. The grill always cooked consistent. I sear
on high both sides then turn to low to finish cooking thoroughly. There are times the stand and wheels are a little inconvenient, but as long as lid is locked and grill is clean, there never was a problem toting it around.
We camp alot living in Florida. We got tired of cooking over wood and carrying charcoal.
This Grill sets up quickly and folds aw...ay nicely. I did have an issue with the regulator after 2 months, Called Coleman and they sent a replacement out witihin five days no questions free of charge. Hint burn off remaining propane after you remove the tank and you should have no issues. Only 4 stars because it does run hot and cook best on low setting, wish could turn it down lower than the low setting.
We have been looking for something compact to put in our camper for all of a year now. When this unit went on sale at Camping Wor...ld we read reviews and despite some negative ones decided to try it. We haven't been camping yet with it but tried at home. It was so simple to use and cleaned up well. Our plans are to hook up to a grill propane cylinder for extended use. We feel we got a good deal.
That's how many this deserves! Almost fully assembled right out of the box. Great quality unit and lots of available accessories t...oo! When it comes to quality, you really Can't beat Coleman. I had it setup and lit in 5 mins!!!
This is my second Road Trip LXE grill, so obviously I'm happy with how they work etc.
the new one has a better latch that keeps ...the lid closed when moving the grill. BUT the
old one had a thermometer built into the lid that is NOT part of the new grill. I miss this
feature as it was helpful for maintaining even heat when cooking.
Not a bad grill. Easy to use and store in my camper. Heat control is as fair as any other grill. The drip pan could be bigger. It ...doesn't hold all that much grease. Clean up could be a little eayser but not bad. All in all it is easy to use and lites every time and the small bottles work fine and last a while. I only gave it a 4 rating because of the small grease pan. Can cook enough food for 6 to 8 people and the griddle works great although it was extra cost. The overall cost of
the grill could be a little less for what it is. This is our first summer useing the grill so we will see how it holds up after a summer of grilling on it. But so far we are happy with it.
I wrote over a month ago on this, guess you don't answer mail if it is not good. When
this was received the striker wouldn't wo...rk, haven't heard any feed back from you.
Looks like Campinmg world is off my list for any more purchases. Sara
Earhart. Should take care of your customers better
I purchased this grill in 2009 and have used it all summer
while camping ever since. It is probably the best thing I
ever did be...cause it has yet to fail and does an awesome job
every time. The secret to this success has been because the
grill is well cared for and kept clean. If it is cleaned
after it's used, it will perform as advertised.
My brother in law has now also purchased one (Two years ago)
and has the exact same opinion.
By the way, to those that have a problem with the LOW
setting, you need to insert a flat plate between the burner
and the grill and the heat level will be just fine on all
settings. It did the trick for me!
I have other Coleman camping products that we have been
using for years and they just go on and on. AND, if you have
a problem with their line of camping equipment, contact
them, they just love to make their customers HAPPY CAMPERS!
We have only used it once so far. In reading other reviews on how hard it can be to
clean I layed out tin foil in the bottom and... cut out holes for the burners that seem to
work pretty good. the grills i did the same as mybig bbq i burn the grills and it clean
them easier. but over all good
For what this grill is, it gets the job done but that's about it.
Hard To ...Clean
Regulator is built in so it cannot be run off of RV Quick Connect
Heat Control is touchy (always seems like you either have too much or not enough heat)
used grill one time, grill was not 100 percent perfect the grate holes are wide food falls
through , grill was damaged in shippi...ng grill paint was scraped off. Trays are small can
barley fit a paper plate on it.
I'm shocked at how many people have trouble using this CAMPING grill. Yes, it is
made for camping. You don't move it around, s...et it up and use it. I have cooked
everything on this including, hot dogs, hamburgers, steaks, roasts, shrimp and all
cooked great!!! Don't leave your food unattended, it cooks very fast in the center over
the burners. As for wind, if it's windy, of course it won't cook well, set it up sheltered
from the wind...common sense! As for cleaning, I treat it like my home grill. I wire
brush the grills while I'm camping and reuse. Ocassionally, I take it out at home and
spray some easy off, scrub the grills, and drip area, and hose off. No big deal!!!
Maybe some of these complainers should stick to hotels!!!
We bought our Roadtrip grill in 2008 and have used it
regularly without any problems. We bought the stove grate
and propane hose... assembly to use with a 20 lb tank as well.
I love the way it grills and it is fairly easy to clean.
Stows away nicely in the RV storage compartment. It has been
on many camping expeditions and road trips, it still looks
and works like new.
I am writing this review because I noticed that there is either one extreme or the other here. So here goes...I bought this grill ...in 2007. It is a great design for storage purposes in my compartments, and the gas attachment is well designed with the small bottles. I cook with the
lid closed, contrary to others, and so far I have had zero problems with cooking. I have done steak, dogs, pork chops, chicken, and used it open with fry pans to cook bacon and eggs. Just keep track of your cooking, and don't forget about it on the burner. Turn your food just a little more often. Here are the negatives...this unit is really not made for wheeling around (even though it has wheels). It is true that the wheels are cheap by design, and the the leg system is just plastic.
Clean up is difficult, and I have had a lot of greese dripping down the legs. Takes some doing, but spray a kitchen degreaser on it then hose it off & let it dry. I have not had mine catch fire yet like a previous writer in here, and I can't say as to why it did that. The latch is cheap
but what do you expect, this isn't a backyard grill. I think this grill does a fair enough job for what you are paying, and for storing it works just fine.
we have had ours for 2 years and it still goes like it did the first day we bought it.. only complaint we have is the wheels are n...ot the best and it wobbles like crazy.. hubby has to replace them but as far as cooking performance, its the best.. the cleaning process is a bit much but i'm
going to try the oil/spray recommendation from another reviewer and see how that goes.. happy camping!
1st I was little unsure of my order after reading some of the reviews--Poorly made,
unsafe, unstable, hard to clean, ect... Lets... address poorly made & unsafe--it's not a
kitchen stove but has heavy cast iron grates which adds to it's wieght seams like the
rest of the body of the grill is made of enameled steel and stainless steel. The frame
is plastic and heavy gauge steel with a good finish and fit. as it is dangerous for kids to
be around I say yes but so is your kitchen stove we made it clear to the three year old
that he was not allowed anywhere near it and with Supervision and adults paying
attention there was not even a close call. As one of the other reviewers said Don't move
it afer it's hot that's the unsafe part, it was very stable while cooking hotdogs and
hamburgers and they were excellent flame broiled no burning of either. As for the
cleaning part after looking at the grill afer a dozen burgers and a dozen hot dogs it was
a mess. Before any cooking I used cooking spray to cover the drip pan and the grill.
after letting it cool down the next day 10-12 paper towels the grill looks like it did after I
took it out of the box, It actually looked worse than it was to clean. We will be using for
steaks, burgers, dogs and we'll be adding the stove grates for use with our cast iron
skillets and other cooking tasks. If you like a quick easy way to grill why camping or
tailgaiting this is a good choice.
Surprisingly good and easy to use. The water tray under the grill helps keep food moist and the gas valves allow easy temperature ...cotrol for accurate low heat cooking of fish and chicken. One of the best I have ever used.
i am very happy with this 'Q' , bought the griddle and
stove burners as add ons and am very pleased with all of
it!!! folds up ...very compact!! you guys that have cleaning
issues, all i do is "BEFORE" you light it up put some olive
oil on a paper towel or use a oil spray (pam) and wipe both
the grease catching tray and the grill and the rest is easy,
i wipe it out with paper towels at the end of my stay ,
really not an issue to clean , that way!!!! happy camping.
I found the BBQ easy to set up and use. A bit hard to keep clean since some of the materials used to build this unit are a bit ine...xpensive. I could not use this unit with the supplied gas outlet on my trailer. The connector delivers only 4 to 5 lbs of pressure and this BBQ needs at least 30 lbs. I just bring along a 20 lb tank to feed this BBQ. I also bought some of the accesories and they work very well. All and all this unit delivers what you need it to do. From Roy in White Rock BC Canada
I love the fact that this grill is easy to clean and very portable for having legs. Some of the other grills out there with legs d...on't fold and go as easy as this one. It stores easily under my bed when its not being used. I wish it had a thermometer in the lid.
We've used the grill for several trips now and haven't had any issues. I've cooked breakfast, lunch, and dinner on the grill and ...with the exception of not haveing the grill
level while making eggs everything has been perfect.
Well I bought this grill about 4 years ago. I found that it worked well and the ability to adjust either burner great. I found it ...easy to clean, but you have to stay on top of it. The grill sections due flake off and need to be replaced, mine lasted about 2 years. On mine I modified the lid so I could clean better. Over the last 2 years I have noticed that it is really rusty around the burners. And as I was cleaning it today the burner assembly has rusted through and the right hand burner is no longer attatched. So.... I decided its might be time for a new grill, this one has served me very well and always done its job.
I would reccommend this grill to anybody looking for a good grill. If taken care of Im sure it would last a good while.
My priority was looking for good stove that can be used as a grill. This is it! We rarely
use it as a grill for the reasons li...sted on other reviews, but if you line the drip pan with
foil, clean up is not that bad. I bought the full griddle as well as the stove ring. This is
the best griddle I've seen. Great for breakfast. The stove ring is adequate for what we
use it for. The bad, yes it is very flimsy, not unstable though. If you set it where you use
it, you will have no problems. This is the most convenient stove I've seen. I roll it under
the kitchen table when travelling. I would give it 5 stars but the latch that holds the top
closed really ticks me off! I will revise this feature using some sort of spring. Another
feature I don't like is that the lid will not close with the griddle installed. It's larger than
the grates. The griddle needs to be stored separately.
We purchased this to use with our motor home and, so far,
have been well pleased. It seems to be well built and easy
to use. I p...lan to purchase the griddle and adapters to hook
up to the RV propane tank. With these options, it should
last for years.
We just love this little grill. We have taken it everywhere, snowmobile races, camping, picnics, family gathering, baseball games ...and the list goes on and on. We love it so much we bought our two daughters familes the same grill and we are about to purcahse our second grill for us.....
Did you know that you aren't supposed to grill with the lid closed? At least not the grill
that I purchased a number of years ag...o. My grill also came with aluminum grates. The
centers literally burned out but Coleman did replace them. The latch mechanism, which
may be fixed now, would not stay closed when in the vertical or near vertical position.
The pan eventually rusted and I replaced it a few months ago only to find that the original
lid now doesn't fit. They are very difficult to clean. Gee, other than that it's terrific.
Purchased for a camping trip coming up. Didn't realize how big it was, but it will be
perfect. I like the fact that it can be ro...lled to position. And also that it can be used in
the back yard when not camping since it is big enough to grill lots. For the price
though I think it should have included more accessories, like the griddle, and pot
I purchased this grill and have used it often. I am tired of buying propane bottles for it.
My RV has a connection to the propan...e system and tried to use hook-up to the system.
The road trip grill would light one burner, because of two regulators. I contacted
Coleman they would not help. I wanted to remove the regulator on the grill and they
said it can't be done, there is no adaptor available. I would not recommended purchase
to be used with your RV system.
Coleman Roadtrip LXE Grill is great. Had one but gave it away when we went full time
RVing. Decided to purchase another after 2 ...years. Great BBQ. BUT this particular model
the sparker to start is not working and we are nowhere near a camping world store, so
cannot return. Have had to buy a lighter so we can start BBQ.

Got my RoadTrip grill in summer of 2014. We mainly use it for NC State Football games tailgating. Last game of 2015 season we had... a grill full of burgers, brats, and polish sausage all cooked to perfection. <nbs>
I do recommend if cooking buba burgers and such to put foil under the grates to help catch grease. Plus when you are done and it has cooled a bit remove grates and use paper towels to clean the bottom, remove foil first, and around edges where the grates sit to prevent buildup. <nbs>
I made the mistake one time of not cleaning and put the grill back in the roller cover, got home and stood the carrier up in garage and there it sat all winter into summer and man it was a mess.. grease had dripped in the cover and it was a job to clean up. <nbs>
they are a bit more work but when you get the hang of how the grill, hot near the solid center area over the burner, and cooler near the edges it a nice grill some what heavy I might add but not too bad. I can heave it up on the pickup truck tail gate, 4x4, and it not too bad but you have to plan the swing. It better with help for sure.
We picked up the roller cover at dick sports goods for like 19 bucks.. It was a red tag deal and i got one not knowing if that was a good price for one or not.. turns out it was.. <nbs>
Its a great companion to my weber genesis when we have a lot of stuff to cook both grills going is a hand full i can tell you. especially with grease fires, just keep a bottle of water close at hand to douse them out. <nbs>
apparently they take out paragraph markers to make long run on sentence. that sucks. <nbs> and it looks crappy.. but that is just me. :)
Pros: Well built, Great size, Good price, Built strong
Nice grill, easy to transport, steep learning curve.

The first time I used this grill the results were not good. The burners are round so all of
the heat (when not using the griddle...s) is in the very middle around the burner rings. The
second time it worked better. I spent a lot of time moving things around to get them to
cook evenly. Not a lot of ambient heat so things do not cook real good outside of the
Rings of fire. My wife also ordered the adapter so we could hook it directly to one of the
tanks on the trail. Overall I really like the grill, the portability and easy set-up / storage
make this a perfect grill for the camper. Make sure you get the adapter so you can hook
up to the big tanks and not have to haul the tiny tanks around.
I recently purchased the LXE girll on CampingWorld's website. I purchased to use
when I go tailgating at various events. My firs...t use of the grill was at a football game at Liberty University. I found the grill be be easy to carry, easy to pop up on site and easy to clean. I cooked with the lid down on high for about 8 minutes and then reduced the heat. I was cooking on a cast Iron skillet and a aftermarket grill. Later I cooked some
on 95% fat free hamburgers over the open flame. I placed foil down to keep clean up in
the easy range. I would like to have more cooking surface. The pull out trays are useful but small. All cooking was completed with the lid down. I did not have any problems. The air temp was around 74 degrees. I felt that the lid needed to be down in order for the grill to heat up enough to cook the meats to a safe temperature. It did a great job for what it is, a portable grill. I am very pleased with the product. Camping world did all that was required and I am equally pleased with them. Enjoy spending time with family and friends. Life is short so enjoy the blessings of family.
Poor grill, poor construction, only one burner works the way it should. Poor quality. Don't buy it. I have had trouble from the d...ay I got it. Three trips to CW just to get it to light. Coleman did a bad job on this one.
This gas grill works great and sets up in seconds. It also collapses and stores very easily in a storage compartment. Coleman has ...done it again with this grill. It cooks great and clean up is very easy.
While this grill is built sturdy it has difficulty regulating the heat when grilling meats (Steak, brats, ribs etc.) Grease from t...he food causes the burners to flare and burn the food. The burner area requires cleaning daily especially after cooking some fatty meats.
Pros: Well built, Good price, Built strong, No assembly required
A bypass before the RV's onboard regulator has to be installed for connection of a portable LP gas appliance with an onboard regulator that uses throwaway bottles. SKU#30336 and #24020 are tees that can be used to do so. Propane hoses, SKU#24039 and 24038 allow connection from a Tee to an appliance that uses throwaway propane cylinder.

By its self, the grill can be stored upright at an angle with the handle resting on a solid surface. For a full vertical, the grill would have to be secured to keep it in place.

Yes, a hose like item# 30338 or item# 30342 has to be used to connect from the portable grill disposable bottle threads to a standard DOT approved refillable tank with an OPD valve.
by Camping World – October 12, 2015
Yes, there is a half griddle (item 33279) and a full griddle (item 33280) sold separately for this grill.
