I boondock alot and frankly speaking I try to save as much as possible my coach's bateries as much as possible and Its impossible to use the regular just drains way too much + the noise is annoying in the middle of the I have now this fantastic Olympian 8 catalyctic heater which is silent...very more battery drain...great cosy radiant heat and I chose the 8 over the other models for having the highest BTU just in case it gets cold and it does when you are up there in them high altitudes in any other months than July and August. So if you had any doubt...just run to Camping World and start enjoying this unit...I know I do and will for several years !

Very efficient! Wave 8

My Wave 8 is installed in a 25 foot 5TH wheel. I use it for my primary heating source, and I live in Montana. I only used the high setting a few times when it was 30 below. Most of the time it was on low. If it's not near freezing outside, even my lowest setting is too warm! I think the Wave 6 would be better suited for me, but being in Montana I need a little extra sometimes. If I didnt camp in a very cold climate, and only do fair weather camping I could probably get away with the wave 3. They are very efficient, and work better then the brochure says. It recommended the big one for my size camper. Most people wouldn't need that much. Especially if you have a backup system. I would average around 25 gallons of propane a month in the cold part of winter, but that's with my hot water heater too. I'm quite happy.
