We had a large astro turf type mat which was bulky and hard to get in and out, not to mention a mess when it got wet. This mat is made of a plastic type material and water goes right through it. If it gets muddy, hose it off and it dries quickly. It is VERY light and folds up easily and fits in its bag. We have just bought another.

Does everything I hoped it would do. Easy to sweep and clean, but it is still woven plastic (a bit cheap looking) but seems to hold up well.
