Description

ROADMASTER INC 4119
With InvisiBrake – there’s nothing to connect or disconnect!
A revolutionary innovation in supplemental braking.

NOTHING. Zip. Zero. Zilch. Nada. Nil. That's what you have to do to connect and disconnect InvisiBrake.

There's nothing to take in and out of your towed vehicle and there's nothing to push, pull, set, adjust, activate or deactivate.

What could be easier than nothing at all?

What is InvisiBrake?
InvisiBrake is a fully-automatic, set-it-and-forget-it supplemental braking system that uses the electrical connections already in place on your towed vehicle (the towed vehicle’s electrical harness) to brake when you brake the motorhome — the same electrical signal that activates the towed vehicle’s brake lights also activates InvisiBrake.

Features

  • Completely out of sight — InvisiBrake is so small (8-3/4" x 8-3/4" x 2-3/4"), it can usually be mounted under the driver’s seat, under the rear seat, behind interior panels or in the trunk, without sacrificing any of the vehicle’s usable space.

  • Set-it-and-forget-it braking — When you apply continuous braking force, so does InvisiBrake — the longer you apply the brakes in the motorhome, the harder your towed vehicle will brake (InvisiBrake will not skid your tires).

  • Bypasses the 12-volt outlet and charges your battery — InvisiBrake connects directly to the towed vehicle’s battery and constantly charges the battery during towing (InvisiBrake will never drain the battery).

  • Two-stage motorhome monitor — InvisiBrake includes an LED monitor for a visual reference of braking activity; an audible alert at the motorhome will warn you if the brakes have been on for too long.

  • Activates only when the motorhome’s brake lights illuminate — no false braking!

  • Works in virtually any towed vehicle with vacuum-powered brakes — including hybrids and those with full-time (“active”) power braking systems.

  • Easily adjusts to individual braking preferences

  • Includes an emergency break away system

  • Meets U.S. and Canadian braking requirements

InvisiBrake - What a GREAT item

After using a brake buddy for many years and hating it, we purchased an InvisiBrake and had it installed at Camping World in Winter Garden, Florida. Due to the fact that it was being installed in a 2012 Terrain, there were a few bugs that had to be worked out, but the service manager, Josh, and his team were most accomodating and patient with all our concerns and did everything, including calling Roadmaster, to get everything working properly. We truly love this system and it is worth every dollar we spent to get it installed. We would suggest getting Camping World to install this system as each vehicle has its own computerized electrical system which differs with each make, model and year that could cause you some serious grief if not installed properly. I would highly recommend this product to any and all RVers.

We have a new Class A and had a different system on the old motorhome, which never worked despite trying to have it reworked a few times. This time we got this product and had it installed at CWorld before we took off on our month long trip this summer. We put 2800 miles on and never had a bit of problems, worked great. Only complaint is that it gives a warning buzz if you brake for 20 sec. and in a motorhome that can be unavoidable when stopping at a light. It isn't a problem, just makes a buzz.

Good Product - Misleading Documentation

I am a great fan of RoadMaster and have used their hitch assemblies for years but the sales literature and web site do not give you a true picture of the installation problems. There is no way they can do anything but discuss generalities for the install as each vehicle is different. It is easy to describe hooking the device to the vacuum system of a toad but it is another thing after you lift the hood. If your planning to do the install yourself, print out the directions and compare them to your vehicle. You may decide to have Camping World install the product. I wish I had.

works well. it is a little disconcerting because there is a delay that i can see from the light on the dash. the light comes on when i apply the brakes, and does not go off right away. i presume this has to do with how the brakes are released by the device in the vehicle being towed.

We used a Brake Buddy for five years and hated it. The set up was awkward and complex. And in the Hill Country of Texas, the brakes would activate frequently on downhill to uphill transitions, causing the tow car tires to burn rubber. We just modified a 2009 Honda Odyssey for towing and included the Invisibrake System. It is wonderful. You never need to think about it. If the umbilical is connected, then the auxiliary braking system is all set to go. Turn on your RV parking lights and the system also charges the tow car battery to avoid those painful dead car moments. And because it is directly linked to the RV's brakes, you never have to be concerned that it will activate on its own when it should not. With a 15 second interval limit, the system avoids overheating of the brakes, while still giving you the control you need over your vehicles. As the name says it is completely invisible. Love it.

We purchased this unit along with our tow package. I wanted the simplest hook up possible. No disconnecting batteries, or inserting & removing mechanical brake boxes etc... This could not be simpler. The installers put an automatic battery cut off switch and a power feed from the RV. One single wire plug-in and turn the lights on in the RV (parking or headlights) and we have automatic braking on our toad. The unit has a breakaway safety cable as well, so if you should separate for any reason the brakes on the toad will come on.There is also a light installed on the dashboard which shows when the brakes are on. After 20-30 seconds of braking (IE: Stopped at traffic lights) the brakes disengage. They hid the box so well, I don't even know where it is yet.

Very nice! Sharp folks put it upside down under the package shelf so it takes up nearly no room. It is like it is not there as it just plain works. Once in a while the toe of my shoe catches on the part that is actually on the brake.
