The Maxx Air roof vent will give you the biggest and quickest return on your investment of any accessory that you will buy. They ...are quick and easy to install, needing only minor tools. The instructions are clearly worded and have visual diagrams as well. Approx. 15 minutes / vent installation time.
Protects as well as makes your interior environment comfortable. I encourage everyone to make this your 1st accessory purchase.
I'm a 51 year old woman and installed 3 vent covers in 45 minutes. My husband is heavy and didn't feel comfortable being on the r...oof. With his assistance making sure the vents opened properly before I drilled the holes it worked out great. We leave them open all the time and it makes a huge difference in the inside heat of the trailer. As always, this product is very satisfactory like everything else we have purchased from Camping World. I am a dedicated customer. Their sales persons are very courteous and very pleasant at all times. If you have a problem with any product their return policy is excellent.
Drill four holes. Tighten four nuts. Then you are done. Most importantly, it installs exactly like the directions say it should....
They work great. The night I installed them it rained cats and dogs, not a drop got in with the vents open.
The design of our trailer allows us to only open one window when it is raining, and then only if our awning is open... so we neede...d something to allow airflow in bad weather. We installed the covers while our RV was being used/parked for a festival that went on for several weekends, and we forgot to close the vents when we left. During the week we were gone, the area suffered SEVERE rain storms that caused massive flooding in the area, and we were very concerned that there would be water damage when we returned! Needless to say, we were stunned to find that not one drop of water came through the vents during the storms! (and it gets better!) The day we moved the RV from the festival, there were more rain storms, and forgot to close the vents again before we towed it! We drove through rain that was so bad we could hardly see the front of the hood of our truck, but not a drop of rain came through the vents!!!!
This item is a MUST have for every RV owner out there! It is worth EVERY penny you spend!
Our first reaction after installing them was bad - they do not allow you to open the vent all the way (maybe only a 1/3 of what you are used to), but we have found that is DOES NOT restict the airflow at all - and since you can keep the vents open all the time, it is worth it!
Intalling was simple, and if you can use a drill, it should be a breeze.
I have a 78 5star Sportsman that was recently redone and I live in it Full Time. The last owner that had it left one of... the vents open and there was water damage. I decided this product is exactly what I need! Easy to install (30 min or less), I leave both of these vents WIDE open now, even in rain, with absolutely no leakage! Awesome product with great possibilities. I picked the translucent white because I still wanted light to come in (but no direct sun light). I leave them open almost 24/7, plus they have this great little vent screen so it minimizes bugs that you have to clean off the inside screen. This among other reasons is why I gave it 5 Stars.
I purchased 4 covers for all my vents on my travel trailer. They make a big difference in temperature in the coach area in the war...m climates while on the road. These covers help save on cooling the trailer down when we get were we are going. I recommend these to any one that doesn't have them. Awesome Product!!!
After driving to Ely, NV from Salt Lake City, UT a couple of years ago we find NO vent cover left over the toilet area. These ARE... A MUST.
We are now able to leave the vents open all the time and find no stale odors at all. Just clean fresh air.
A great product.
I had them installed on all my vents (31' Class C). I was impressed with the ease of installation and the positive effect on the ...interior of the motorhome. I also purchased the FanMate model , for the fantastic Fan in the overhead cab, and installed it myself. A Great Product.
I had just put in two Fan-tastic vent fans and of course I needed to cover them. Love these covers! They let in just enough light ...and the vent opens just fine and the cover keeps out rain and leaves. You can drive with the vents open, how can you go wrong. Easy to install. I had a sky light real tight to the vent fan and just had to tweak one slide a little and that’s was it. I did put some soft plastic material so the bracket wouldn’t run on the sky light but that was a snap.
These vent covers are one of the best and most inexpensive additions you can add to your RV. I bought one to try out and was so pl...eased with it I bought 2 more to do the other vents on our 23' Wilderness. We do alot of boondocking and our trailer odes not have AC, and these make a huge difference in the indoor temp on a hot day. And being able to leave them open while moving keeps the interior from being 110 degrees after being on the road on a hot day. Buy them, you won't be sorry!
These covers don't discolor like another brand that I have tried. I have one of these and one Camco on my trailer and the Maxxair ...looks new after 2 years and the Camco is stained and discolored. Highly recommend.
I installed these vent covers myself, it is so simple, even for someone with no skills. I have a 24fter 5th wheel with three vents..., yep, installed the vent covers on all of them, what a difference they make. Wish I would have gotten them sooner. Now, nothing but fresh air all the time, does a good job of letting the heat out too. Almost feels like a different kind of RV now. Thanks Camping World, keep up the good work of finding us good products to make our RVing more pleasurable.
Bought mine in the summer of 2004 and installed it on a small Class C over the bathroom vent and it is wonderful. In Central Texas... we can get some pretty heavy rains at times, and not a drop of water has gotten in. The other huge plus is venting the heat as we store our RV at a facility near the lake where we camp and it helps so much to have the venting of all the heat during the summer. I'm about to buy another to put at the front above the "cab-over" bed, as it will help with venting the heat this summer. This is a great item!
When I bought my RV, I had a roof vent cover on the hall vent, but not one on the bathroom vent. Mopping up the water, in the bat...hroom after a rain shower, I finally bought one for the bathroom. It was very easy to install and keeps me from having to mop the bathroom, after it rains. I bought the white cover because it was cheaper. It gives off plenty of light in the bathroom.
I saw these on another campers trailer. He said he highly recommeded them to anyone who wants their trailer cooler and fresher. I ...bought two of these and found my trailer didn't smell like it had been closed up all winter. Yes I kept the vents open all winter. No snow or rain came in at all! My trailer is much cooler in the summer too. I do have one regret, I regret not buying a third one for my other vent. I too highly recommend these to anyone.

As soon as I saw these I asked the same question many of your have doubtless asked. Why don't these come standard on new RV's and ...why did it take so long for someone to come up with this wonderful vent cover? Anyway I bought threeand trust me it's the best money you can spend for your RV. They allow you to keep the fresh air coming in rain or shine, whether at camp, on the highway, or in storage. They are perfectly designed for ease of installation and they are lightweight and durable. The instructions were easy to follow and the hardware is simple. Just drill four holes in the vent frame, attach the brackets-one on each corner, secure the vent to the brackets and bada-bing!, you are done. This is a great product and if you haven't gotten them yet, now is the perfect time!
I have seen these on several friend's RVs and finally put a set on our
Jayco. Why didn't I do this sooner?! Allows great ventila...tion without the
worry of is my vents open?. I highly recoomend this product!!
These vent covers are a great add on!Keep open while in storage or when traveling. While camping open windows and leave vents open,...keeps the temp down-and don't have to worry while it is raining.GREAT PRODUCT!!
This is one of the best ideas in a long time and it really does keep it cooler during storage. If you have an RV in storage sitti...ng outside, it gets awful hot when it's all closed up. Works great when camping as well, we recommend it.
Received and installed two MaxxAir roof vent covers with no problems. I was not aware that there are four holes to be drilled into... each vent, for attaching the brackets. Over all the installation went very well and they are made in America. I'm very satisfied with this product.
After our first weekend camping, we had 3 of these installed on our
Travel Trailer. I honestly dont know how you could go campi...ng
without them. They allow you to keep you skylights open in any
conditions and not worry about the rain or bugs getting in. We leave
ours open while we drive to circualte air and have never gotten any
rain or debris inside the coach. Very useful item
I installed two of these on out TT a while back. Be careful
and you won't have a problem with the install. The vents
won't ope...n as far as normal, but being able to keep them
open all the time is more than worth the trade off.
Don't forget to close your vents when the pollen starts to fall!
After being caught in a sudden thunderstorm and finding puddles in
my trailer because the vents were open while we were gone, I ...
installed the Maxxair vent covers with the additional E-Z Open Maxxair
brackets. Not only do I feel good about better weather protection
when leaving my vents open, but I also don't have to worry about
leaves or debris collecting inside the vents.
This product is made of a tough semi pliable plastic. It does its job admirably. The latest design accepts an hinged (option no...t supplied with cover) fastening so that one can swing it open to clean the inside vent skylight window.. Over time the plastic hardens, and can develop cracks. This is especially true at the mounting area screw slots. After several years, I decided to replace a one of the covers, as it had cracked on top. I could have caused the crack, I am not sure. When I went to install the new cover as a replacement, I found that the company has made some design changes in the mounting hardware and method. One change was that they reduced the number of mounting slots in each corner of the vent cover from 3 as shown in their literature tp 2 slots per corner, and the slot set I was using was no longer there. I could have used the new mounting hardware, but chose not to disturb the old hardware, as doing so was inviting leaks from removal of the old brackets, and the new hardware required re drilling holes in the existing RV vent sides. Rather I redrilled the vent cover and restored the old slots. That was an easy job. To prevent cracking at the slots on the vent plastic, I would also suggest using a different hardware arrangement in place of the lock washer, and nut for the 1/4-20 bolt. Instead purchase for each; fender washers, lock nuts with nylon inserts, and 1/4" ID rubber washers or grommets. Stack each corner as follows: 1/4-2- Maxxair supplied stove screw, Maxxair bracket, Maxxair vent cover, Fender washer, rubber washer, Maxxair stainless 1/4" ID SS washer, and lock nut. Tighten slightly snug, but not to full torque. This arrangement will prevent cracking of the plastic slots.
After one of our vent lids completely disappeared and another cracked on our two year old fifth wheel trailer, we decided to purch...ase the MaxxAir Vent Covers over all our vents. Very easy to install and they make it possible to leave the vents open even while we are traveling. We should have bought and installed these when we bought the
trailer, it would have saved us a lot of work on replacing the vent lids.
Great! Should have come from the factory like this

Looks and works great, went on within minutes. Had these on our last trailer and it was great to be able to leave our roof vents o...pen almost all the time for the fresh air
regardless of weather. Would recommend them to anyone. And as a bonus, they are
made in the USA.
We bought 3 of these after putting our trailer on a permanent site. Installation was fairly
simple. We are now able to leave t...he vents open while we are gone to leave air in/out
and keep the trailer ventilated. The small mesh screen inside allows air in while keeping
This cover was easy to install and looks good. It has a little higher profile and does not look like it came as an
original item ...with the 5th wheel trailer. My old vent covers will not open all the way under these new vent
covers, but I don't have to close them in the rain now and if I forget and leave one open when we travel it won't blow
off on the road. Overall, I am very happy with them.
Recommended by a friend, I found them to be great vent covers and added protection for the existing vents from both
sun and also ...hail, one of the many blessings of living in the Midwest. Easy to put on using the hardware included with
the product, the three that are atop my RV are great looking as well.
I received the product which came as advertised with all the mounting material. I have yet to install them but from the video I an...ticipate no problem. And the price was in line with what I was looking for.
I like it. For the price of this one compared to the higher priced ones. I think it is up to par.
It was very easy to install... just as the instructions claim. And as far as the plastic itself, it seems to be of pretty good quality. I would recommended if you are thinking about one of these.
The product seems to be well constructed. Perfect for intended use and fits well with
Trailer Exterior. The instruction guide mad...e for Easy Installation.Looking forward to see how it holds up during camping season.
One of the first things we did on our 24' travel trailer was to install a Fantastic Fan. Then I installed the new Roof cover which... allows for ventilation when towing the unit. This keeps out rain also and provides Positive Ventilation with the fan with the windows in the unit open........Yes, you have to go on the roof, but it is not hard to install. PS....It's not the fall that hurts, it's the sudden stop.
Very easy to install, took about 15 minutes per cover , I purchased 3 for my
motorhome, now I can leave the vents open when park...ed , keeps good air flow when
traveling, less bugs inside also, good investment.
I have used MaxxAirs for years and think they are great. They are easy to install and with two or more of them on the RV will faci...litate good air flow - especially important when the RV is parked between camping trips. I always add some caulk to the screws when installing the product, although that is probably over-kill. I typically close the vents when washing the roof and MaxxAirs to ensure no water finds its way through the screen and into the trailer - again, probably not necessary if you are careful when washing. The quality is better than that of the brand that came with our RV, so I replaced that with a MaxxAir after a couple of years. Not much effort and well worth it.
This cover is as good or better than any I have seen. However, I was surprised when I opened the box and found just the cover. The...re were no included instructions and I thought that there should have been a gasket to go between the cover and the roof, but without instructions I am not sure.
I installed three of these in about 45 minutes to an hour. Had no problems. We had a very
bad rain storm a few days after and I ...had the vents open all the way and not a drop of
rain made it inside. Camper now smells much better with the vents open. Would order
again in a heart beat.
We have always used these vent covers on our RV's. We're on our 4th travel home and
these covers allow you to vent your on the r...oad home. It allows airflow even while
traveling, keeps a unit cooler and dryer. We don't worry about any mold accumulation
or 'stuffy closed up' smell, nor is there any wonder if we left the vents open. With these,
you don't. They help protect our investment.
Long time Michigan campers.
Very easy to install. Hardware was included. The height is
just high enough that the hatch does not open to its full
extent - th...is is not a big deal; still enough airflow. I am
very pleased with the covers.
For the price you can't go wrong. The screen on it's not the best but will work. Only reason
I didn't give it 5 stars is the ven...t does not open all the way now but it's a little sacrifice to be
able to keep the vents open in the rain & transit.
These covers fit in place very easily. The height is slightly less than the replaced covers
so the hatch does not open to its fu...ll extent - this is not a big problem. I am very
pleased with the covers.
Super easy to install after watching video on Camping World website. We needed these
(2 ordered and installed) because our vents... didn't have this protection and we got caught
by a surprise rain shower while camping and mopped water in 3 areas that was soaked.
Was a great purchase and it has also
helped to keep the summer heat out a little bit vs the RV being completely closed up.
Would buy again.
I bought 2 of these for my trailer thinking they were
on the cheap side. I was pleasantly surprised at how
sturdy they were. N...ext, I wondered how difficult they
would be to install. After my fear of getting on the
roof of my trailer, these covers didn't take but 10
minutes each to install. I looked around at the other
campers at our storage facility while I was on the
roof and discovered a large percentage of my
cohorts had the MaxAir vent covers. I then felt
confident I made the right choice.
I originally bought three of these but returned one as I can
only open my vents about 75% of fully open. I returned the
vent cov...er for the bathroom vent as it is a powered vent,
and I wanted to be able to open that vent fully.
I bought two (I actually needed another one, but I got the last two in stock) and plan to go buy the third one tomorrow. It took m...e about 30 minutes to install on the first EZ Lift vent (mainly due to needing a couple more tools than listed on the instruction sheet), and the second one about 15 minutes. I have a MaxxAir II from our previous trailer that I wanted to use, but there are no mounting brackets made for the EZ Lift vents, so I opted to replace with the standard MaxxAir's. I haven't traveled with them yet, but so far these seem to work much better than the MaxxAir II did on our previous trailer. They seem to create a better draft through the trailer. I can't wait to get the third one tomorrow and get it installed for our next trip in two weeks!
Pros: Easily Installed, Good quality vent, Great air mover
Installed four of these on my new RV the last week of July and have left my vents open
ever since. Without them on my other RVs ...we had returned to a wet bed more than
once after an unexpected storm passing through while out sightseeing. Not sure why I
never heard of these before. We’ve had several thunderstorms through here in the past
two weeks and so far no water has made it in (these storms have included some pretty
high wind blowing from the direction of the louvers. I was expecting some water after
last night, but all is dry.
Watch the RV 101 video; it really is as easy as it looks. My only issue was so minor; I
chose to live with it. After installing one of mine I noticed one of the louvers was cracked
– I just aligned it the way it was supposed to be and left it alone. Likely caused by rough
handling since all four shipped inside a single large box separated by a few air packs.
It was so insignificant and no one will see it, I can’t see it affecting the performance so
not worth following up on. Just be sure to inspect before you get started just in case (I
suspect this was an isolated incident). We get a lot of hail here; I had to replace the
factory vents on my old RV after about 6 years; mostly from sun rot – they were pretty
brittle and all seemed to fail about the same time. I suspect I’ll get at least double that
out of these and considering I think I paid about half of what these cost, that if I get that,
I’ll be more than happy.
Vent covers provide many benefits, they allow you to open vents with no fear of rain water
coming in, they protect sky lights fr...om harmful uv rays, and they avoid your friends and
neighbors from knowing when you need to vent the bathroom! The only suggestion I have
for bettering them is to replace the bolts attaching the brackets to the sky light with small
self tapping screws. Eliminate the need for a drill bit and speed up installation time by 50%!
I have used these on all my enclosed trailers and will continue in the future.
The cover will diffuse sunlight but not all, this cover is a translucent design so light will still pass through. To block sunlight, you need to use an opaque style cover like SKU#29365.

Vent covers like this restrict air on roof vents that have high powered fans.
Here is a demo video Fan-Tastic Vent filmed when they released the Ultrabreeze vent cover, various covers are placed over a running vent to quickly demonstrate air flow. Ultra Breeze Demo by Fan-Tastic Vent.

How does this product mount to a Fan-Tastic vent, which has a plastic frame?
by ron – May 17, 2015
May 17, 2015
My Fan-Tastic vent is a plastic housing that does not allow access to the inside, where the washers and nuts would attach to the bolt; as represented in the video.
If this MaxxAir doesn't work with a Fan-Tastic vent, can you please tell me which product would?
You can use the MaxxAir II vent cover which has brackets for installation like the MaxxAir I or drilling two 3/32" holes less than 1/2" deep per bracket and mount with self tapping screws for high powered vents like yours. MaxxAir II Install Instructions. Alternatively, the Ultrabreeze can be installed which re-uses the mount holes for the vent on the roof.
