    Cannot handle wind

    December 04, 2014
Purchased 2011. This is (was) my 4th season of use. Cover cannot handle wind due to poor design, inadequate strapping and inferior stitching. During the first year, wind caused billowing and abrasion of material against the motorhome particularly the slide out awnings. I managed to repair most of the holes as a result and attached foam rubber in places where I thought abrasion would occur. We live in Teton Valley in WY and are subject to pretty good winds coming off the mountains. I installed this fall and one day (Halloween) we had significant winds. The reinforced eyelets (see video for product) did not hold and 6 out of the 7 straps connected under the motorhome ripped out. That was after all seams along the bottom of the motorhome on both sides ripped out. As a result of that, the front of the cover came off the bumper and the seam next to front zipper on the side ripped out about 4 feet up from the bottom. Fortunately, we have had significant snow and the cover still stays on for now. Design cannot handle wind. There should be at least 3-4 straps that are incorporated in the material that completely encircle the motorhome - rather than just connected each side at the bottom. Stitching needs lots of testing to be able to handle the winds but also handle the deterioration resulting from UV damage - should be a given? Would not purchase again but I have little storage choices once this cover is discarded.
Pros: Easy installation, Worth it, Looks great
Cons: Tears very easy , I would not buy again, Deterioration of material, Should be more durable

ADCO cover on a 2008 Coachman Freedom Express

    December 01, 2014
I live in the Southern United States where we get a lot of sun. We purchased our 2008 Coachman, class C used. It had been stored indoors by the previous owners. We do not have that luxury and it is kept on an outdoor storage lot. In just one summer, I noticed the effects of UV on both the RV finish and the awnings. I knew it was time to buy a cover. I read all the articles I could about covers. Looked at all the YouTube videos I could. Finally came to the conclusion that the ADCO cover was the best for our needs. Before installing the cover; I watched the ADCO factory videos for installation techniques. I found the latest one to be very helpful and followed it's advice as closely as I could. I brought along my wife to help with the first install. She was a big help in getting it centered over the RV and throwing the straps underneath. I would say that after another couple of installs; I probably won't need the help (although two people are great for throwing the straps under - It keeps you from walking back and forth around the RV). After a month on the RV, I do have a small hole in the cover where the front of the awning is. I didn't think to pad that area before putting the cover on. I do not care for the padding they ship with the cover. I would prefer something heavier like a urethane foam. I'll probably fabricate my own over time. The cover has been through a number of high wind days and seems to have held up pretty well (with the exception of the hole by the awning). Time will tell with regards to the whole winter and next summer. Based upon what I've read; I think it will be OK. I would recommend this cover to anyone at this point.
Pros: Easy installation, Good fit, Durable in high winds, Good cover

    DON'T BUY

Don't waste your money on these, one size fits all does not work. A lot of money for something that does not work well. Bought the 26-29' C cover and that is where the main problem is. Our Cambria is a 26A meaning it is 26'6 long and this cover is also for one up to 29 feet. Way too much cover that is beat to death in the wind. They should custom make covers for one size or not make them at all. Also thin and flimsy that wears through quickly.
Cons: Tears very easy , Barely fit, I would not buy again, Should be more durable

    Very Pleased

We ordered our new cover in September with a UPS Store in Lewiston, NY as the delivery address. As expected, it was delivered a few days in advance of our planned pick up date, which was perfect. We just installed the new cover on our 28' class C (29' overall) today, October 19, 2014. First impressions with the fabric were positive. It took only 20 min. to install, and the fit was perfect . I was concerned that it might look too unsightly for the neighborhood, but the 2 tone color and graphics actually made the unit look very suitable. The quality feels great, and as everyone suggests, do not over tighten the straps. We live in a winter/snow climate, so let's see how it holds up between now and January when we uncover it to head south. I plan to add to my review as time goes on, but at this point we are very pleased and wish now we would have done this sooner.

Looks and fits great! (much more presentable than a big ugly tarp!) Light and easy to put on and straps hold firmly in place. Side zippers allow you to access unit easily and was even able to get under the hood to remove batteries.Only con: material is very thin. One spot that was rubbing against a stone wall wore through within first 2 weeks. I expect a short lifespan for this product.
