The folding step is very sturdy except for the rubber tips. They have
disintegrated, making the step uneven. We have not been ...able to
determine if replacement rubber tips made at an angle like these are
This step is great. It's light weight and sturdy, and since it's aluminum it will never rust. We haven't had any problems with the... rubber feet, but always have had the step sitting on our outdoor rug.
I love this step. It works perfectly to make it easier to get in my RV. I do have the rubber tip problem, however. Mine have disi...ntegrated too. I called Camping World and they are going to see about having replacement tips sent.
I love this step. A little pricey, but I bought it on sale, liked it so much I wondered why I waited so long. We have along legge...d 5th wheel, was using a wooden step I made years ago. It was heavy, awkward to stow, not adjustable. Looking at the different steps out there, saw this one, was impressed by how rugged and light weight it was. I waited for a sale, got it and its great. It has surpass my expectations. This is
very easy to stow, it is adjustable, light weight and solid. When I bought mine they offered extra rubber tips I bought a spare
set. After two years the rubber tips on my step shows no sign of wear.
I got one of these steps for Christmas and really think it will be an improvement over the plastic exercise steps I was using befo...re. I read that many are concerened about being able to replace the rubber feet. I contacted the mfg. at www.strombergcarlson.com and they assured me I could get replacement feet from them.
Absolutely the best folding step on the market. Sturdy, well built, good non-skid foot surface, and leg's fold up securely. If i...t sold for half what it's selling for and actually worth, I'd buy 2 more of'em.
We had a different one for a long time. My wife found it heavy and hard to carry around. We thought we would try this one and we l...ike it. It is light weight, durable and you don't slip on it when it is raining. It folds up pretty nice for easy storage. We do camp in some rocky and rough areas and have had no problems at all.
We have had the step for around 4 years now and find it very helpful at times. The only problem was with the rubber feet falling a...part and we fixed ours by wraping plastic tie wraps around them. They have
worked to keep the feet on and we used the black ones so they are barely noticeable.
I called Stromberg- Carlson using the number shown on the steps. The tips are available, in sets of four, cost $8.95 a set. You ca...n order from the person answering the customer service phone. I wish the step heights were 2" & 6", instead of 2" & 8". The way the legs are held in position looks a little flimsy.
I sent a review on these steps this morning.
I received an email about this review.
Some how, my review got messed up.
I... wrote, I wish the step heights were 2" & 6".
The copy I got from you, that part is messed up.

IN my review, I wrote about step height. I guess your automatic
reader cannot read inches using numbers.
I said two inche...s high & six inches high.
I wish I had never wasted my time, and your time.

This aluminum foot stool is fantastic - stable, light weight, and easy to use. My only complaint: the pads on the feet wear out.... You can get a replacement set from the manufacturer for $8.95, but it costs an ADDITIONAL $11.80 for shipping, bringing the cost to over $20. I have ordered the replacement feet because I need them, but I do think that the shipping charge is far out of the area of reasonable.
I have had this step now for 6 months. It has been on the
ground for 6 rallies and some time on my driveway while we
get into an...d out of the trailer. I have trimmed the length
of the legs to make the step 7" high which makes all my
steps 7" each. Easy adjustment with a grinder or a hacksaw
The downfall is the poor design of the rubber feet that have
already broke out the back side. Frustrating because other
than the feet, the step is lightweight and very sturdy. I'm
glad to hear that they can be purchased.
I purchased this step and used it 7 days. The rubber tips are no good, however, I contacted Mr Bob Brammer, owner of the company ...that made this steps, by email on 10/12/09 about the bad tips. He called me within 12 hours of my email and sent me replacement tips at NO CHARGE. The company stands behind it's product. I would do business with them and buy their product again. You could not have
asked for a quicker or nicer reply from anyone.
We have 3 of these steps. We carry two with us and have one at home on our RV parking pad. Very well built, very stable, folds n...early flat, easy to store and operate. If there's any Con at all it's the price. IMHO: You'll pay about twice what I think the step's worth. But, even the price didn't keep us from buying 2 more after we bought and used the first
step. Great product.
This step is big enough and strong enough to provide a miniature stoop for access into my RV. It makes going in and out so much ea...sier than stepping directly from the narrow bottom step that's built in. So much safer...
We love this step. It is a tremendous improvement over the stool we previously used. It
is very solid and well built. A bit e...xpensive but now that I have it I wonder why I didn't
spend the money and get it before.
I have had 2 - we have a habit at leaving behind at rest stops. The rubber feet do wear out, but go to any hardware store and get... rubber feet for kitchen chairs. They fit better, we also added some metal type glue inside before putting on the legs. The last one we left behind had those rubber feet for kitchen chairs on for years.
Love the step -- does well, and is stable --- Major hold-back -- rubber covers on feet don't last but a few uses. Have ordered se...ts from Stromberg-Carlson, but have
found shipping to be about as much as the covers.
Who ever thought of this design had safety in mind. In my opinion any other stool used on uneven ground is a safety risk. Why doe...sn't this item come up when searching for a step stool? Buy this item !!
We had to get this step because the one on our coach was just too high off the ground. We went to camping world and found a couple... of steps. We ended up choosing this one, mostly because it seemed to be the same as the others, just less expensive. It is very sturdy - I was worried with it being aluminum that it might not be - and stays in place very well. I would say that it hasn't budged since we put it down on a dirt and small rock surface. Great purchase.
Great product. Light weight, sturdy, and stable when stepped on. Folds and stores
Takes up very little space. Exac...tly what I was looking for as a step to use on uneven
ground. Price appropriate for the product.
Pros: Strong, well built, does not rust. Cons: Only single
height. With some extra thought, it could be built with two
or three.... Heaver than I expected for aluminum, but strong.
More expensive than I wanted to pay, but what isn't now?
Performance is better than expected. The item is sturdy, very well balanced, and stores very well. The powder coat
finish is exc...ellent and the slats repel small rocks that may otherwise be carried into your trailer or RV.
We purchased this because Iam vertically challenged (short) and need an extra step to get into our RV. This platform is
large an...d with the folding legs going out beyond the step itself, it is extremely stable. Friends have commented on
the large size of the Step. We would recommend this to everyone !
This single step pedestal is solid, light and makes an excellent bottom step when my trailer steps become too high off the ground ...due to levelling, sunken ground, etc. The four footings lock in place for a stable balance and the non-slip material on step comes in very
handy wet or dry. Even at home if I've needed just a little more heighth to reach something the wide step helps me to accomplish the task. If not needed at the time for the trailer my wife will put a pillow on it and use it like an ottoman.
This folding aluminum step replaced a non-folding plywood and aluminum step. The
new one is very well constructed and its lightw...eight and folding legs make it easy to
store. The paint and non-slip strips look very well applied and should last a long time with
minimal care. I'm not going to test the 1000 lb. rating, but the step feels very secure and
stable under our use so far. A little pricey at first ,but with your sale pricing and Good
Sam membership with free shipping, it's a bargain.
We purchased a larger trailer with an additional read door (quite common). We have an Aluminum Folding Step for our front door, ...and now we have one for our back door. It folds very compactly, it's very sturdy and most of all, it can be relied upon never to slip or fail. We're very satisfied with our purchase, and would recommend this step to everyone.
This step folds completly flat for storage and it very sturdy when in use. It is also a good size for your foot. It is large enoug...h that you don't have to look at it when stepping down into it. I highly recommend it.
Very well made and easily stowed. We have a small dog and are concerned about her feet getting caught in the spacing between the t...op rails however. This spacing is not apparent from the picture or description presented in the catalog. I glued a nonslip solid rubber material to the top surface of mine to protect my pet.
Step is very stable. I was looking for one with adjustable legs for irregular terrain but couldn't find one. Eight inch height is ...too much. I cut 1 1/2 inch of of each leg for a better height for my application. Overall, Step works well.
I purchased the step hoping that it would help my wife stepping up into our fifth wheel. She didn't lknow I had bought it and when... I put it in front of the trailer steps, she was extremely happy and can now step up without experiencing the pain she normally would have. What a great help to our camping experiences!!! I highly recommed this step for anyone who thinks that they need a bit of a help climbing the steps into their
My wife injured her knee on our last trip and wasn't able to reach the lower step of our 5th wheel. This step allows us to set it ...low by not folding out the legs or higher with them down. It is very stable and light enough for her to move around.
This step is very stable and very strong! Well worth the sale price of $60.
I just bought a 2nd one for our slide-in pickup campe...r. I bought the first one after a cheaper version tipped over
causing me to take a dive that resulted in a dislocated humerus. Although the torn muscles, ligaments & tendons in
my shoulder are healing slowly, my decision to get a cheap step will probably result in rotor cuff surgery.
This truly is a great product. I purchased it to assist me in accessing my truck bed and as a first step onto my camper steps at s...ome of the campgrounds. This product is as good as advertised, well built, strong and lightweight.
Our trailer has a rear entrance and this aluminum folding step makes getting in or out much easier, especially for our young grand... children. Great design, light weight, folds up to compact size and has non slip strips on top.
This stool is exactly what I need when my lowest step is still too high above the
ground. This doesn't happen always but when it... does the stool is generally the perfect
height to fill the gap. Folds up out of the way when not needed so perfect for trailer
where space is limited.
Would have given 5 stars, but the spaces on the step are larger than they appear in the
picture. We have two smaller dogs and th...e spaces are too large. They seemed
uncomfortable using. We solved it by using zip ties to connect a small rubber backed
indoor/outdoor carpet to it. Works like a charm! It is the perfect height for humans and dogs,
and feels very sturdy.
This aluminum folding step is a great addition to our coach. It comes in handy when the last step down out of the coach to the gro...und is high due to the contour of the camp site. It's great for older folks or those with knee or leg problems. It's sturdy and stable yet light weight and has non-slip strips for wet weather or dewy mornings. When the legs are folded in, it only requires two inches of space for storing on
edge. Another fine product from Camping World!
This is so lightweight, and yet it is wide, safe, and useful. It is easy to stow, and just as easy to set up. We are delighted wit...h it so far. We saw many motorhomes using this step in the last campground we stayed at. We use it at home so that we don't have to bother putting the
steps out when we are packing for our next trip!
I LOVE this step. I have Rheumatoid arthritis and it is just the right height to make the stairs easier in my RV. That first step ...was always very hard but this step takes the work out of the climb. It is heavy duty and never makes me feel insecure. I highly recommend this step
This adjustable step is a perfect platform to help mitigate the addition distances between our first step and the ground. It is so...lid, secure and lightweight. My wife and I could not be more pleased with this step!
I purchased this step for my travel trailer. It is sturdy yet light weight and that it folds up makes it easy to store. I am very ...please with this step and would highly recommend it to others. It was priced right and the shipping was fast.

I bought this step because my folding plastic collapsible one was cracked and breaking. I
occasionally take my 80 year young par...ents camping with me, and an additional step is
required to get in and out of the trailer. This step has a nice big platform, it's super sturdy
and very strong (I think it says it can hold up to a thousand pounds!). It folds up flat and
doesn't take up much room or weight when folded up. Good product!
Never owned a step, but after purchasing our coach, thought
it would be good to have. Second camping trip out, we
needed it BAD.... What a nice product! It never slipped and
is very sturdy. You feel confident that it will support you
even though it is lightweight! Great, great product!
This step is built very well. Height is just where it needs to be. My small dogs have no
trouble using it to get into our motor ...home. It can't be tipped over on solid ground. Takes
little space when stored.
We use this folding step with our travel trailer. It makes a great extra step if needed, or can use as the main step. It's nice, w...ide, and sturdy enough that we use it more than the trailers pull out step. The non-slip and non-skid features are perfect in inclement weather.
Three stars since this is unit does not technically adjust to 3 inches. It folds flat with a 2 1/2 inch height. It doesn't adjust ...to 8 inches when the legs are extended. The flaw in the design is when it is flat (the 3 inch advertised adjustment, the four corners are actually on the ground (read in the dirt if not in a paved or improved site). Whereas it is stable when laying flat on the ground, it is not truly as adjustable as advertised.
This step is very light weight, sturdy and easy to tote around. It folds down to 3" flat and it stores easily anywhere. I use... it as a bottom step and it is just the right height; I am disabled and it adds that extra step I need to get into my coach.
Pros: Lightweight, Sturdy, Folds compactly, Easy to install
The rubber foot caps are available as a special order from the manufacturer. To order, please call our technical assistance line at 1-800-622-6264.
