I recently sent in a review of this toilet, more specifically the toilet seat lid problem we were having with a toilet that was installed in our motorhome by a local dealer. I wanted to give you an update on the previous review. After working with the customer service department for several weeks, the end result was that the toilet bowl itself had a quality problem, not the lid. It turns out that this bowl that we got had slipped out of the inspection process at Thetford and it had a mis cast hole in the toilet that was too far back on the bowl. The result was the toilet seat lid did not reach the front edge of the bowl. Customer service said they had caught the misaligned hole problem in most of their Quality Assurance tests. Ours was shipped with the problem. Even though we did not ask for any compensation, Thetford is shipping us a complete new toilet. So, I would consider that they have taken care of us very well. We do hope that the new toilet will be correct.

Lid does not fit toilet

We recently had a new Aqua Magic toilet installed in our motorhome. When we brought it home, we noticed that the toilet lid is 3/4 short of covering the bowl opening. . Could not get an answer from the local company who installed it, so we pursued it with Thetford. Thetford sent us a new toilet lid that, on comparison, appeared to be the same lid. I then sent a letter to Customer Service at Thetford. After a number of missed attempts to get hold of us, I finally spoke with Casey in Customer Service and stated our dissatisfaction. with the toilet lid. The second toilet lid came in an unmarked box and they did not tell us it was a fix for the lid problem. We simply measured the bowl circumference and came up with the same size lid. Well, then he told me that the fix was in the back hinges. We examined it and found they had elongated the screw hole. They could only make the hole 3/16 bigger and so we tried to install it. One hole was not large enough to allow the screw to go back into it. And the bottom line, it wasnt worth all the work we went through to de-install the old one and put the new one in. We got a 3/16th improvement that didnt work. The real problem is that the lid was never remolded to match the bowl size. This was not even a good attempt at correcting the problem. I doubt if this is an advertised fix since there were no instructions with it. I am not asking for compensation. We just want some recognition that there is a problem. I am a very unhappy customer with both the mfgr and the installation facility. They didnt want to get some closure for us and didnt try.
