We used these items in high winds in Colorado. I noticed that one strap was too I centered my awning in the head rail on the camper, and voila! It worked perfectly. These are easy to use, store, and save your awning from noisy flapping--which kept us awake our first night in the mountains. I highly recommend this product for its value and ease of use.

I found that you cannot clamp down hard enough on the fabric to hold it, even in a moderate wind. Thus defeating it intended use. I think a softer pad should be installed in the pads.
