Let in fresh air in any weather without drilling your RV roof!
Keep the interior of your RV fresh and ventilated rain or shine. The Ramble Vent Cover allows fresh air to move throughout your RV interior while preventing heat build-up. Its side vent design promotes better airflow than other vent covers. The exterior is made from high impact polypropylene with UV protection. No need to drill in your RV roof- hardware is included to mount to existing 14" x 14" roof vent flange. Vent is 10 inches tall.
Stainless steel mounting hardware will not rust.
The instructions were clear and easy to understand. With the right tools, as outlined in
the instructions, the installation took about 15 minutes from start to finish. I don't know why
we didn't buy them sooner! There is no worry about the vents being open if it might rain. It is great to have the added ventilation while driving down the highway. We love them!!
Installed 3 of these vents on my 5th wheel, easy installation and perfect fit. Improved
air flow and control, protects against water intrusion during rain & snow. Reasonable
price and fast delivery. Highly recommend.
Accomplishes two things for me: 1) Don't have to worry about it raining into trailer if vent is
open, 2) able to leave vent open while rolling.
Easy to install, easy to remove to allow winter cover installation.
Bottom line; good product for the right price I got it on sale.
I put them on 3 of my non fan vents and the powered max air thermostat controlled
reversible vent in bathroom it works great rain or shine I can get air in or out of the
camper . I control air flow by opening or closing the vents . love them
We have had A LOT of rain on our current trip, and not a drop has come in thru the vent I
installed the cover over, It was very easy to install. I bought two, but only used one. The
vent cover will not install over the Fan-Tastic Vent in our RV's kitchen. I'll return the one I
very easy to install, prevents the rain from coming into the Trailer also since its also has the side vents it alows easy ventalization for the heat to escape. The white color also matches with the Trailer colors
Good quality for the money and easy to install. However, it doesn't allow the vent to open quite as far as other covers I've had in the past. Side vents may make up for the ventalation
lost in lower opening.
Vent height was a bit shy so I can't quite open bathroom vent all of the way but more than enough for venting purposes. BUT the attachment clips probably should not be used on a Fantastic fan, at least on my camper. The housing on the Fantastic fan is different from the usual vent housing. I was not going to take a chance and cause harm to the Fantastic fan housing. I will be adding the vent cover to my Fantastic fan bur will
most likely screw it into the roof rather than the fan housing. Overall the vent cover is quality and will work well.
The vent covers were very easy to install. I installed them by myself with no problem. I have a little concern with the strength of the attachment brackets (lightweight alluminum) but they seemed fairly secure upon completion of installation. The rating could have been a 5 with stronger brackets.
The product arrived quickly, and the quality exceeded my expectations. The installation seemed rather simple, and I completed two of them in just under two hours. The fit and finish was perfect, and they were half the price of other major brands. It's nice to be able to
leave my vents open regardless of the weather conditions, and the side vents are an added bonus. Only time will tell if they will hold up to the UV's!
I bought the camping world vent cover for my camper, I'm verry happy with it. I priced a maxair vent cover, and found it was a lot more money to buy it. I don't know what the difference is between the tow covers. but for me the camping world cover works just fine. it was easy to install. just fallow the included instructions. it only took 15 mim. to
put on. with a hand drill.open end wrench and screw driver.
I bought the Camping World vent covers because of the reasonable price and because the installaion looked easy. I had also read that folks had experienced problems opening their vents after installing the covers. I thought I could avoid this problem by opening the vent before installing the cover, ta da. By the way it's pretty hot on top of a travel trailer, in Pensacola Florida, in August. I installed the rear cover and everything
worked perfect. As information I also had bought 1/2 long self tapping stainless steel screws to attach the L brackets to the vent. this made installing the brackets, with a power drill/driver, a breeze. I repeated the same steps and installed the front cover. When I went inside to close the vent I found I couldn't LOWER it as it was too high and
rubbed on the covers rear louvers. I had installed the cover too far forward in an effort to raise the vent as high as possible. I was not looking forward to going back on top the trailer in the heat of the day...but I did. I resolved the problem by simply moving the vent
backward to the next set of holes in the cover. I had initially used the center holes
because it seemed logical. Actually it was just dumb luck. So far the covers have performed as advertised. It's a relief to be able to open the vents and not worry about having to close them in case of rain. You'll appreciate this if you've
ever had your bed get soaked.
As reviews say the installation is easy but sure wish they were made about 3 inches taller. The vents now only open part way. Air flow is OK but not as good as it was before installing
vent covers.. We are able to leave the vents open when we leave for the day without fear of
rain. Just wish the vents were taller for better air flow.
Purchased because it was on sale and I wanted a vent cover over bathroom vent. The price was right and it was easy to install. With vents on the side, it really allows air to circulate and no rain comes in. I always had to close vent before when i left the coach rain could
come in. Problem solved with this vent cover.
I chose the Camping World brand vent cover for budget reasons, but when
they were delivered, I was pleased to find they were a better design than the
more expensive vent covers. Simple installation. Would buy again.
These vent covers are a nice addition to our toyhauler roof. They allow airflow during travel and inclement weather. They were fairly easy to install and cost half what the competitor's covers are priced at, yet perform the same function. I would definitely recommend these.
We purchased this item because the vent on the MH we had bought (used) had been taped
shut. It seems to me that the entire fan/vent had been installed backwards, with the brackets in the back rather than the front..... so if it were to be accidentally left up a tad, the wind would easily catch it and take it right off! So.... the vent/fan with the top taped down was absolutely useless. Therefore, we looked in to the easiest fix for now, and this was it! It was very easy to install, and has been exactly what we needed. Now the top is always cranked up, we don't have to worry about the wind catching it, we can get air circulating by leaving it open and we can use the fan! YAY! lol I would definately recommend this product.
This is a good product and installed relatively quickly without having to drill new holes. The only complaint is that my husband installed the covers with the vents wide open and we are unable to close the vents completely. That means that when we winterize the camper we will have to remove or loosen the covers in order to close the vents.
They do keep the rain from coming in which allows us to keep the vents open for ventilation.
After 8 years, my original camping world vent covers were deteriating from the hot
Arizona sun. This year I replaced them with new. I like them so well that I gave my
soninlaw a set for his travel trailer for installing mine. I am well pleased wiyh the way they perform, and the fact that you can have youre vents open in this Oregon rain and not worry about leaks. I highly recomend this product.
We bought our camper used, it has 3 vents, two in the main body and one in the bathroom. The two in the main body
already had covers, but the one in the bathroom didn't. We were out last summer when a rain shower left our bathroom rug wet. So I added the third cover. I bought this because
of the less expensive price. It was extremely easy to mount, taking about 20 minutes, with having to climb up and down the ladder several times and the fact that I dropped one of the washers behind the screen and couldn't fish it out.
Would have been nice if an extra bolt, nut, and washers were added to each parts pack, had to go fishing for an extra
washer in the garage. Used the camper this weekend, was able to keep the bathroom vent open the entire time including during a rain shower.
Arrived quickly. These are as good a quality as any of the other name brands. Get some self tapping screws to make the install even easier. Would definitely purchase these again. They were on sale for 17.99 and shipping was reduced as well.
We've used the other name brand vent covers without problems. When hail destroyed our original equipment vent cover we decided to try the Camping World vent cover. It has improved venting features over the other brand at about half the cost, and the installation is
I got one of these for each of the two standard vents on our ACE. They went on pretty easily and seem to do the job of allowing the vents to be open during travel. They also reduce the risk of having the vents open when a rain comes up because they shield the
vent area from rain. Be sure to have the vent raised somewhat when installing the cover. It would also be good to have someone raise and lower the vent when you think you have the cover in the right position.
I have been debating on getting these for a while, but with storms coming this weekend I decided what the heck, let's see how they work. Went on fairly easy. Took about 2 hours to do all three. You have to close the vent enough for measuring, then you cant do the install
without opening it again. Up and down the ladder was a pain. The extra person to open and close and self tapping screws would have cut the time to under an hour and would have gotten the 5th star.
This vent cover is very easy to install. Before you climb up top, open your vent cover
about three-fourths. This gives you plenty of room to mount all brackets. Only drawback
is that once mounted, the vent cover will not fully open, but that is not a problem for me!
I have used these vent covers on privious units and you don't have to worry about open vents when you are away. These new vents are even better with the extra vents on the side. Also you can leave vents slightly open all winter to avoid moisture buildup.
Easy to install, good way to protect your skylights

I bought this to add a little extra protection to my skylights. My trailer is at my deer lease most of the time, and I worried about it getting hailed on and damaged when I'm not there. These give me a little more piece of mind that I won't come back to busted out skylights.
Only suggestion might be to substitute self-tapping screws for the bolts and nuts that you use to attach the brackets to the skylight housing.
I purchase the vent cover and installed it. the thing I noticed was the hardware is kind of lite. Could be of a stronger material. havent been on any trips yet. we'll see how well they work on the road. satisfied with the fit.
The vent cover looks alright, but the mounting system seems pretty flimsy. Haven't had the chance to drive highway speeds yet, to see if it holds up. Well built cover, if it holds up. Will do a follow up report.
This vent cover was easy to install. The vent cannot open all the way; however, on my old MH, I had installed the Max Air vent covers and they couldn't open all the way with those either. The measurements on this cover are 21.39 W, 21.41 L, 9.26 H. It came with the hardware to install and requires no holes on the roof of the rig. The side vents
make a big difference in the air flow.
I bought two of these for my 18ft travel trailer that I actually live in part time. I was tired of
not being able to use my bath fan when raining or when there was snow on the roof.
Installation was very simple on the bedroom vent. With four self-tapping screws,
installation on the bath fan was also simple. I haven't had any problems with water
coming in during the worst rain! Still waiting to see how they do in the snow, but it has
been great for several months.
I installed this cover after changing the vent on my fifth wheel. It went on really easy and works great. It should protect my vent cover from the sun and hail damage(that's what got the first one).
I would highly recommend this for anyone with an RV.
looks good... easy to install... vents great... fit leaves something to desire had to bend brackets for a flush fit to the roof simple mod at factory could repair this problem easily so everyone would get a flush fit
I purchased two of these to add to my new Wildcat 32QBBS which has 4 vents. I already had two Maxxair covers which I kept from my old unit. In comparison, I am very happy with the Ramble covers as the
side vents allow for a lot of air movement, however, the one drawback is that the shape of the covers don't allow the vents to open near as much as the Maxxair covers do. Good looking, solid product otherwise.
My friend and I bought two of these each during the current
buy one get one free promotion. These vent coverts are well
made, heavy duty, and easy to install. The parts package
was complete and parts are stainless steel so there is less
worry about rust and stains on the roof. It takes
approximately 10 to 15 minutes for an average installation
by a novice. The instructions were clear and easy to
follow. Camping at Indian Cave State Park, NE this last
weekend was great with these vents. The nights were cool
and rainy so we still got some fresh, cool rain air and kept
When I buy something I always ask myself would I buy these
again knowing what I know now. The answer is yes!
Fairly easy to install but if you have a maxxair vent fan you will want to have an extra set of hands inside the camper while you are on the roof. (And some disassembly of the vent is required.) DO NOT tighten the bolts until you have the cover perfectly aligned. (A couple of short tests takes care of that.) Installed two on our Rockwood in about 2 hours.
We were dreading to install vent covers and found that the Ramble
vent covers were amazingly simple to install. We read the
reviews/complaints that the roof vent wouldn't open all the way, So,
what? They open at least 3/4 of the way, which is more than enough.
we put 2 of these on our class b+ telstar and two of the
'others' on our class 'a' elante. the rambles look (much)
better and sit lower. have no idea where the comments are
coming from about 'poor instructions' or 'hard to mount.'
that's a bunch of rubbish. they're idiot proof. a cordless
drill, with a small drill bit and a phillips head bit and a
way on to the top of your rv are just about all you need. it
helps to have someone inside cranking the vent up and down
so you can center them perfectly, but that's an option - you
can go up and down the ladder with a little more effort.
note: we live in a very windy area and the ramble covers
have NEVER come loose. the 'other' brand has required a
quick tightening now and then, even on my neighbor's
trailer. we HIGHLY recommend these. nice to have a cheaper
and BETTER alternative!!! so get a set (or two)! they'd make
great Christmas or birthday or father's day presents...
The product is great, but the install directions stink, I just followed
the basic install for the Max Air Turbo Max, that was purchased with
the 2 Ramblers.
The crappy directions was the reason for the 4 STARS, good
directions would have received 5 STARS.
Would I recommend this product? Most Definitely!
I however would recommend downloading the MaxAir Installation
Instructions (PDF) from www.maxxair.com.
Also I put a few beads of Lap Sealant on the screws and a few in
the front, but do not seal all the way around.
I also gooped the carriage bolts to prevent leaking and coming
Overkill, maybe but no worries about leaking or coming loose and
everything I did can be undone.
I had MaxxAir covers on my previous Class A and when I went
to CW to pick up covers for my Class C I saw the Ramble
covers on sale and I picked up two. I didn't care for the
brackets so I made my I own from some old stainless steel
stock I had laying around. I installed the cover over a
Shurflo fan and found that the Shurflo cover would not open
all the way. Since most of my camping is desert and the vent
is normally always open I just removed the Shurflo cover,
installed the Ramble and use a vent cushion from CW when I
want it closed off. It has been through a couple of major
storms with no water intrusion. I have found that the fine
screen on the Ramble lets fewer small leaves and debris in
than the MaxxAirs did and has more than adequate airflow.
For the price savings over MaxxAirs I feel they are a very
good buy for the budget conscious RV'er.
have had the more modern looking ramble's on since they
first came out. first on our class 'b,' then on our telstar
class 'b+.' installed a pair on our neighbor's new jayco 28'
trailer - they love them too. we just bought a class 'a'
last week and we're ordering a pair now. does that tell you
anything? i've been pulling those other brand, lightweight,
tall and ugly ones off for years. the ramble vent covers
don't whistle in strong west texas winds, and they are much,
much more durable when the pecan tree limbs fall on them.
they do NOT break! great product - should be available in
every rv store in the country, imho. hope they start making
other types of vent covers soon. refrig., a/c replacement
covers, etc. sincerely, jack b :-) in midland, tx usa
The Ramble vent cover will not permit the Shurflo (Comfort Air) fan
cover to open fully. I tried to install it over my Comfort Air fan and it
would not permit using this roof fan. I think the Ramble vent cover is
adequate in other respects. Too bad it would not work.
I just installed this vent cover over a SHURflo Comfort Air and it works great. The installation process is not as simple as for a regular vent. You have to remove the interior panel of the power roof vent and the space is tight to install the nuts and washers, but everything fits perfectly well. The air movement doesn't appear to be restricted, the main screen and the extra side openings are doing a great job.
I had a new 2004 aero-light and put a couple max air vent covers on so when I say these are just as good as I installed 2 on our new 2007 aero-light and do the same job, maybe better do to the extra vent and cost less, and mount the same way as max air I realy know what's going on and when a bad review shows up about this vent cover, maybe they had to much culk around the vents as I had around my tv ant. and just scape a little off and to much torque on the bolts can cause any screw/bolt to break and as well as a bracket, by the way I had use the trailer in a very good down poor and no water would come in, as good as max air and cost less.
I installed 3 of these vent covers on our Fleetwood Flair in about 1 hour. I would recommend having someone who can open and close the vent as needed while installing. This saves trips up and down the ladder to often.
I just bought two of this covers and I tried to put one on and it did not fit right so I took it off and found out that in some situations you may have to remove some or a lot of excess insulation that comes around the vent unit. After doing that the vent cover fits a lot bettter.
I bought this cover for the simple purpose of being able to keep my bathroom vent open while it's raining outside. The geniuses who designed my 5th wheel installed the vent over the toilet rather than the shower, instead opting for a skylight over the shower. So, showering during the rain was not an option if I wanted to keep the steam volume down. My solution was the Ramble Vent Cover and I am more than satisfied by the air flow it allows even without the vent fan turned on. A great product for the price.
The new Ramble cover (camping worlds brand) seems to be a good deal. It is about $7 cheaper then the MAXX Air. It claims to have 50% more air flow due to the additional side vents. We installed (4) in about 1 hr. on our Weekend Warrior 5th wheel toy hauler (looks real cool). Personally, I like the white color of the MAXX Air as the Ramble seems to have a more yellow tint to it. It is defintely more rigid then the MAXX Air. Don't know if that is good or bad. The MAXX Air comes with a 6yr warranty against breakage ----didn't see that with the Ramble Cover either. But overall we saved $28 bucks. Oh, 1 more thing the MAXX Air had a fine screen that seemed to catch dust better then the RAMBLE which was just open to the elements.
We just installed two of these in our new 5th wheel - they're as good as the other brand for less $$. The white is light enough to let in good light in the bedroom and bathroom. They allow us to use the bathroom fan in the rain. The vents can stay open while travelling without damage to the vent cover. Took 5 minutes to install. Great little covers!
I bought and installed three of these for our new Komfort travel trailer I found the design to be superior to the Maxx-Aire covers I've owned in the past - and they're half the price! $14.99 on sale. Great Product!!!
We purchased two for our 5th wheel and love the extra comfort of air. We leave the vents open all the time and in the summer it prevents mositure and heat build up. I recommend these vents for any RV.
I installed this unit in about thirty minutes during a rainstorm by the light of my Coleman lantern. It opens up far enough to let the full airflow of my Ventline high volume fan to pass through with no restriction. I don't know of any other model that will do that for such a low price ($19.99 with a President's Club membership).
This morning I noticed that it's white color lets the sunlight through well. This is very helpful in providing additional light in my bathroom.
I bought this cover to enable me to keep the bathroom vent open (there is a cover over the hallway one already).
I like the brightness, but the vent does not open all the way. I recomend the installer put lock washers on the screws, as a couple of mine have come loose and disappeared.
Do these covers install similar to MaxxAir covers with no hole into the roof?
by GmaroseSeptember 04, 2013
The brackets are similar, yes. Installation does not require drilling down into the RV roof.

Does this item come in other colors?
by SteveApril 09, 2013
This is available in the Smoke color, see item 34680.

The description says to not use this product with a vent fan. I am not clear on this. Can this be used with a Fantastic fan?
by Big CanoeFebruary 22, 2013
This is not recommended for any vent that has a fan in it.
February 25, 2013
