works great, but don't take it camping around anyone

this works great... had a 2 week power outage, and it ran like a charm.. about 12 hrs at full throttle. However, when taking it with our RV... if you camp at a campground, or anywhere there are people around, forget about using this... it's WAY too loud... not only for your neighbors, but for yourself inside your RV, too.

Great Generator

Purchased this generator about 1 1/2 years ago to use at home and with my RV. I was skeptical that it would not run the AC on my RV but it did/does and has never stalled or quit on me. I had a larger generator previously that I had paid a lot more for and it struggled when the AC came on; this is a great generator, especially for the money.

Great Little Generator for the Price

Bought this generator as a temporary solution but I was afraid that this generator would be loud as I have used open framed generators in the past. Picked this generator up at Camping World just before we headed out so I really didn’t even get to run it be fore we left town. Well I unpacked the unit, oiled it and filled the gas tank up. Opened the gas valve, pushed the choke level to run and pushed the run button to on. One pull and she was running, nice. Started right up and ran surprising allot quieter than I thought. Don’t really hear it at the back of the trailer and only a little under the front area from inside. You could sleep with it running I think. Let it run for a few minutes to break it in and then applied power to the RV plug. Our trailer is a 50 amp service but I had the adapter. Plugged in our trailer and the generator barely even changed sounds. I turned on the heater as we are at 6000 feet and no problem, also ran the fridge at the same time to get it cold. This generator still was running smooth and steady. After a little bit I tried the air conditioning unit just see if it would run it, again no problem but I did turn the furnace off just in case, don’t need both of them running. So right out of the box I am impressed and it really was easy on the fuel. Used just over a ¼ of tank of gas running mostly the furnace, water pump and charging the batteries and an hour of TV to watch football, but it’s still new and that is to expected. I ran it maybe 6 hrs or so over the weekend and no issues what so ever. Will be replacing the oil before the next trip as that is recommended. Other than that it has been great so far and it will fit in my front storage bin. Weight is just over a 100 pounds so it’s not bad, but you should have help loading it into the bins as that area can be hard to manage as you are bent over a bit. I am recommending this unit as a cheap alternative until we can buy the Honda 3000. Will keep this little generator though as a backup.

Champion Generator

Purchased one of these two years ago to use on the back of our fifth wheel when boondocking. Transferred it to a truck camper purchased for a trip to Alaska last summer. Sold it with the truck camper on our return. Approximately 25,000 miles on the back of two rigs under its cover and it still looks like new. Never a problem with it. Pull- ed our AC and microwave simultaneously. Started almost always on the first pull. Met our needs 100%. Going to Camping world to buy another before heading to Florida in Jan. Great unit, only one complaint from an adjoining camper in two years of camping.

3 Years Running Strong

I have owned this generator for 3 years now and I'm a fantastic fan of it. The only issue I've experienced was a broken rip cord, which was easily replaced following instructions on YouTube. It still starts on the first gentle pull and has hundreds of hours logged over 3 years of dry camping at my lake property. It's now supporting its second larger camper without showing signs of slowing down. She's loud though. I've run this generator on a hybrid camper with tent beds, and sometimes it was hard to hear the TV over the sound. The new hard walled insulated camper really helps. Overall, I'm very happy with this generator. It's been a solid, consistent workhorse for me with no notable issues.
Pros: Easy to Use, Exceeded Expectations, Reliable, Durable
Cons: Loud

Starts first pull every time and handles everything we've thrown at it for over 2 years. Geoff added an additional muffler and now it sounds like a Honda. Could not be more pleased. Use ethanol free fuel and Sta-bil additive "Live long and prosper campers"
Pros: Exceeded Expectations, Reliable, Durable, Price

Not too loud, but won't run my AC

0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.
July 08, 2013
I bought this thinking it should be able to run the AC in my new travel trailer. After looking at reviews and comparisons for dozens of generators, this was the quietest one I could find short of a Honda, and was a lot less expensive. It is louder than my friend's larger Honda, but not terribly loud. It would run most of the powered options in my RV, however when I kicked on the AC with NOTHING else running, it came to a crawl, as did my AC. It sounded like both of them were trying to die. I'm going to be selling mine and looking into the 9500 watt model. 3 times as expensive, but still loads cheaper than a Honda.

We purchased this at at the time we purchased our 2015 Bullet Ultra Lite by Premier and we were told it would run our air conditioner. It does not! Not enough power, and the generator shakes like crazy when attempting to use with air con. It works for charging a battery, but it is very heavy and difficult to load.
Pros: Price
Cons: Heavy, Loud, Loud
