I just got this generator and have only used propane. I followed the quick start procedures to the letter and it fired right up and ran great. No missing or hunting. The instructions were easy by the way. I ran it for several minutes before I connected my 40ft RV. I used the built in 50amp connection. After connecting the RV I began to turn things on. 2 15k btu AC units, 46in TV with Direct TV, 22ci residential refrigerator, ran the water pump to fill a cup for the microwave, heated the water in the microwave. Everything ran with no problem. I highly recommend this generator.
Pros: Easy to Use, Exceeded Expectations, Features, Durable
    Cons: Expensive, Heavy

Researched for months before deciding on and purchasing this unit. Tech department at champion is outstanding and more than willing to answer any questions about their products. I called them twice and both times they were very helpful. I tried the propane right out of the box and it fired right up. Then switched to gas with the same results. Note: The start and stop switch does not turn the unit off when running on propane by design for saftey. I also ran this right along side the supposedly more quiet harbor freight predator 6500 watt unit. I could not hear the champion over the predator. It is also clean enough at 5%THD to run TVs and such. I have, thus far, been very impressed and satisfied with my decision. In my opinion, champion has a much better selection of generators that will actually produce the amperage needed for many applications. As I was shopping, I learned that you cannot simply go by wattage, as many manufacturers including harbor freight sell units that can produce 5000+ watts but cannot handle 30 amps. (what is the point of that!) Most cannot even safely run TVs and such because the THD is so high. If you go with champion you will feel like one!

I purchased this item not really knowing what I was getting for sure. I just was hoping it would run my 32' Heritage Travel Trailer anywhere I wanted to take it, with or without electric hookup. It started right out of the box. I followed all instructions and did the break-in period and it exceeded my expectations that I was hoping for. It was and still is a little on the loud side, but I haven't had it out in the woods or campground yet. I had to do the break-in period in my back yard which is rather confining and has a lot of echo due to surrounding buildings.
Pros: Easy to Use, Exceeded Expectations, High Quality, Reliable
    Cons: Expensive, Heavy, Loud
