Super-duty Champion Generator 7500/9500W will blow you away with its quality, power and ease of use.

The Champion Power Equipment gasoline powered, electric start portable generator is powered by a 439cc Champion single cylinder, 4-stroke OHV engine that produces 7500 running watts and 9500 starting watts. With a 5.9 gal. fuel tank this unit can run up to 8 hours at 50% load. Our OHV engine is equipped with a low oil shut-off sensor and designed for long life and easy maintenance. This unit is ideal for large RV's, trailers, power tools, jobs around the house, or home back-up power during emergencies.

Picked this up at Camping World the day before hurricane Sandy hit. It was nice that it came standard with extras: electric start, handle, wheels.Once I set it up it started on the second pull. We were without power for eight days and this ran our 220v well pump, refrig., boiler, tv, a couple of lights, microwave, coffee pot.We have a travel trailer and it is a plus that this comes with 30amp and 50amp RV plugs as standard. The Almost Perfect was because it is fairly noisy, but it sure saved the day (8 days) after hurricane Sandy!

Update - Out of the box - No Power

Okay, wanted to provide you all with an update to my first experience with the Champion 9500 generator purchased on 11-05-2012. The day I took it home and completed all the prep work, I fired it up and had no power, right out ot the box. To set the record straight, Champion support was very helpful to isolate the problem. UPDATE: I received the faulty AVR part early, within 3 days, when I was told from the parts department to expect it about 3 to 5 days. Installed it, fired up the generator and VOILA I had power. Now the big test, I plugged my 50 amp diesel RV into the unit, then turned on both ACs, both flat screen TVs, all the lights, microwave, refrigerator and my wifes hair dryer all at the same time and it worked flawlessly. AWESOME! There was an initial momentary engine draw from the unit when I turned on the ACs but it quickly statblized and you couldn't tell the difference with or without the load. This unit is everything I expected and now I wish I had puirchased it to start with. I can't tell you how frustrating it can be when your wife has to continuely ask you (while dry camping) if it's okay to turn on her hair dryer or other applicances; just checking. That's because with my other units, they just can't handle the loads. Save yourself and your family the headaches and go buy this unit if you have a 50 amp RV/trailer. It's worth every penny! I am so looking forward to my next dry camping trip. JR

I bought this generator, took it home, unpacked it, put the wheels and handle on, added oil, hooked up the battery, filled the fuel tank, and it started right up first try. After a 5 minute test run in the driveway, I loaded it up in my truck and headed off with RV in tow for a weekend of tailgating and college football. I plugged the 50 amp RV cord directly into the generator and it ran flawlessly for the entire weekend powering everything without a hitch. I used about 12 gallons of fuel for the 2 days that it ran. I gave it 4 stars, should have been 4.5 only taking a half star off for the noise. It was a bit louder than the motorhomes and the much smaller Honda and Yamaha quiet generators, but no issue with enough power. If you are at a speedway or event where noise wouldn't be an issue, this is great. If there are tent campers next to you, well they won't be too happy. All in all, very satisfied with this generator's performance, power and price!
