Four removable panels can be carried individually to the shower house, tent or elsewhere, while leaving the remaining panels still brightly lit. When a panel is returned to the lantern base, it immediately begins to recharge and illuminate. Cool-touch LEDs keep lantern cool while running. Powered by 8 D-cell batteries (sold separately), the lantern operates up to 75 hours. Each panel operates 1 1/2 hours on a rechargeable NiMH battery while it is away from the base (1 1/2 hour run time). 26 ft. range. 190 lumens. 11 3/4"H x 6 3/4" dia. Mfr. 5 year limited warranty.

Good camp lantern

With 8 D-cell batteries it stays in place when you put it down. It lights up the area around it evenly. The removable sides light up the trail as you walk. One big BUT, this does not work well as a flashlight - to light up something in the distance. It works within several feet, but we were trying to search around the campsite after spotting some Javelina, and the light would not penetrate very far.
