I was recently given an older Coleman PowerChill Hot/Cold Thermoelectric Cooler by a relative who could not figure how to change the direction of the door and it is great! Used it on my way back from Indiana to Florida and I had COLD Drinks at my reach. True it only cools drinks to 30-40 below the outside temp, but here in Florida when it gets in the 90's, a drink that is 50-60 degrees is like a gift from heaven and I can put the drink back in the cooler to chill more instead of having to get up and go inside my RV. Not sure how long the cooler is made to run while it is outside in high humidity though .

This is Coleman's Model No. 5645, it COOLS and HEATS, and it costs less than the new Model No. 5644 introduced in 2008 that only cools. They have the exact same new quiet motor design. The difference is the power cord can be plugged in two different color-coded orientations. Red for hot, and Blue for cold. It works very well to chill by cooling it's contents 40 degrees cooler than the ambient temperature. Beware that if you leave this in a 100+ degree atmosphere, it's only going to cool down to 60 degrees! But it works perfectly in a cooled or Air Conditioned SUV, car, RV, room, or office.
