Customer Reviews For Coleman PowerChill Thermoelectric Cooler

The concept is good but product but it failed the test - August 17, 2008

This is our second thermal electric cooler by Colman. We trusted Colman because it has been around for many years. The first one we only had for a two days. It worked fine for several hours, the next morning the temperature was 50 degrees, and later that day it just stopped working all together. We exchanged it for another one because we like the concept of a light weight cooler with no messy ice cubes to deal with. The second one did not maintain a temperature of 40 degrees below the surrounding temperature as advertised. We purchased the recommended Coleman chillers to keep it colder, but it still stayed between 45 and 55 degrees. And on the top of the unit around the fan it is icing up with a temperature at 45 degrees. and higher. The good news is Camping World stands by there products, so this one is going back too.

Last year We Traveled to Heron Lake NM. The nights were a little chilly, and my PowerChill froze some of our drinks! Please unplug at night it works so well. It has also replaced an ice chest because it works on hotter days better than a ice chest. I hope that anyone out there who is thinking about buying one talks to other people who have one. I have no bad things to say except, Go COLEMAN. Cliff, New Mexico,USA
