I have looked for a grill that was easy to clean and this is the one. After reading the reviews I decided to get this one. The first week end of use was great. The cook time was faster than other grills and the clean up was fast. Thanks Coleman...

We contemplated buying this grill for some time and finally did. We could not be more pleased! It's convenient to store because it folds up and breaks apart, cooks everything well, is very attractive, and cleans up beautifully. It's everything we were looking for in a grill, and makes camp cooking creative, clean and well cooked.

I bought the grill 2 years ago. Have used it many, many times, hunting trips, softball games, tailgating at racetrack, and back yard. It has worked great every time. i agree the drip tray is a little messy with water but I tried the pam non stick idea and I find it works great! Clean up is clean up no matter what type of grill you have. I would recommend this grill to anyone!!

exceeded expectations

I delayed a couple of years in getting this grill. After reading Consumer Report's review, I finally made to leap. I always have skepticism about products. But this one exceeds my expectations. From the first steaks and grilled veggies, It is a winner. With the use of non-stick spray on the water pan as well as the grills, clean up was much easier than I expected. In a field situation where water may be limited, the non-stick spray trick will work by simply wiping down the grill with paper towels. Set up was quick. Fire up was one snap of the igniter button. By the time we had eaten, the grill was cool enough to clean and tear down. There was a bit of a learning curve in stowing the grill and stand in the soft carrying bag. I give it an excellent rating and would recommend it without hesitation.

I carry this in my 5th wheel camper. The table is sturdy even on sloping ground. The extra "wings" on the table are very helpful as is the place to hang your tools. With the aluminum grill surfaces, they transmit heat quickly so you are up and cooking in no time at all. I can whip up a full breakfast for 4 people on this grill in 30 minutes. It cleans up easily and folds away very well for the limited space in my camper. Plus, you can buy extra grill surfaces if you want. I like the flat grill surface that comes with this model as you can cook almost anything on it. But be careful not to scratch the Teflon!

We bought this grill 5 years ago and we just love it!! Except for the water tray- its a MESS to clean when we used water. We started just spraying the water tray with PAM (non-stick spray) instead and it works awesome! We just use paper towels to clean it out and it much easier to wash out!!

Reading other reviews I have to add a fix for the water pan issue. Remove the pan and place 2-3 layers of aluminum foil below the burners and piping, install the pan and pour in some small grain stone or stone dust. You can store the unit that way as long as you don't tip it or pour the material into a cat litter container. Scoop out any drippings, makes clean-up a breeze for me over the last 3 years and the foil is still the original. I have 2 remaining issues, one is the legs, the locking mechanism could be improved upon to make it more stable, the other is there is no wind screen so the burners need to be monitored during strong breezes as I like the other husband performs all the cooking outside.

I bought this grill based off the great reviews everyone put out there. Going into our 2nd year of owning an RV we decided to purchase a good grill. This grill appeared to fit our needs, which it does until its time to pack it up. Even with the water in the drip pan as they recommend, cleaning the thing takes alot time and work. Most of the time I have to wipe it down the best I can and put it in the RV and really clean it once Im home, but that leaves a mess in the carry bag then. I think this product is great and durable, but it is a mess and hassle to clean. This is not a product that would work if you want a quick breakdown of your camp site.

An Impressive Grill

I bought my fist Road Trip Grill in 2002 when I was in Florida working temporarily in that area. I used it on my patio at my apartment there. When I bought my motor home, to live in while I was working at various projects, it was perfect for limited storage. I am now out in Texas and I have just purchased my second one. The first one was used heavily (Almost daily) and lasted a mere eight years, and actually is still useable. That amortizes out to about $25.00 a year. For me, it was a no brainer to purchase the identical grill. The only minor negative is the water pan. It can be kind of messy, but then I have never had a grill, large or small, that wasn't messy.

Great Grill

We bought this grill a year ago, and I have only found one drawback to the decision. Since we bought the stove grate, an extra grill and griddle, my wife has decided that ALL cooking can be done outside (except baking). That doesn't sound so bad, since it keeps the "cooking smells" out of the trailer, but I had agreed long ago that I would do the outside cooking! This grill is going constantly when we camp, which is almost every weekend in the spring, summer and fall. Cleanup is very easy with the water basin catching all the drippings. I haven't gotten around to it yet, but will soon buy the hose and connector to hook it up to my 30lb propane bottle instead of using the little 1 pounders. I don't think you can go wrong with this grill for ease of use and cleanup, and it stores easily in our trailer with limited storage space.

I don't know what grill the first guy was using, but it sure wasn’t the Roadtrip. This thing is awesome!
