Measuring Instructions for Pleated Shades

If mounting Pleated Shade inside window frame, measure the exact opening size -- width and drop. The factory will make any necessary adjustments (from 1/4 to 1/2 inch) from your exact measurements to allow for inside clearance and ease of operation.
If mounting outside window frame, measure frame to frame and add extra inches for coverage above, below and to sides of frames. The end caps on the rail will add 1/2" to the width of the shade. If placing under drapes or valance, make sure shade fits underneath.

Note: Fabric is only 72” wide. If the shade is over 72” wide, the shade has to have panels "pieced" together. The seams meet up where the shades are strung. Any shades over 72” are built with this process.

Storage position

I ordered the shades with the blackout option and they are very attractive and fit well. I intended to leave them in the down position to protect the interior of my 5th wheel from the sun when it is stored. Unfortunately, the manufacturer says they must be stored in the raised position to maintain the pleats. I feel this is something that should be mentioned in the description of the product. If I had known this initially, I would not have purchased them.

Our new night shades look fantastic. My wife and I took out the old verticle blinds and installed the new night shades in about four hours. We did six windows and could not believe how easy they were to install. The new look is amazing.

We replaced a couple of the blinds in our motorhome bedroom. They were exactly the size as ordered and the installation was very easy. They were made perfectly. The shipping seemed to be higher than it should have been but we are happy with the purchase.

Day/Night shades

We just installed 9 shades that we bought through Camping World. The ordering was efficiently handled over the telephone and arrived sooner than the estimated delivery date. Handy husband with a little help from me easily installed the shades and then made the necessary tension adjustments. So far we are very pleased with the product! Note: Request fabric samples before placing order.

Just get your D/N shade restrung....it's cheaper then buying a new one

Day Night Shades are great. If your cord breaks just find someone that can restring it. Go to google and search on day night shade repair there are folks out there that can record/string your shade. You can even mail your shade to them....Day Tripper RV Day Night Shade Repair can be found in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex, they also take mail-in's. ...Don't buy new ones just get the old ones restrung.

After 6 years of mostly full time living, and the hot south eastern USA sun, the strings on our shades have rotted. Because we like them so much, we will replace each shade as we need them. We have three to replace right now. I think the strings on any blinds would rot in this sun. Some one told us you could restring them, but it was quite a chore...we will just buy new ones as needed.

I ordered one shade to see how easy or difficult it would be to install and see how they last after a few months. As long as you measure correctly, they are a breeze. The install went very well. I've had the shade for about 3 months and have had no problem with it and I use my RV seceral times a week. I am not a full timer but close to it. I am now about to order them for the rest of the windows. They are inexpensive and work great!

Great when they are new

I loved my day/night shades when they were new but as time has gone by and not that much time, (less than 2 years) the shades that fit smaller windows are all breaking. I am a fulltimer and so I pretty much open my shades daily. The strings that go up through the holes of the shades have gotten weak finally until they snapped. Now my shades are worthless. I have to roll them up and "rig" it to stay up. 4 out of 5 smaller ones are broken and it makes me sad b/c the darkening half really did a great job of keeping sun out on really hot days. I will be looking for wooden shades, vertical for the large windows maybe. I am starting my search now and will replace them all once they all break or I get sick of messing with it, whichever comes first. One more annoying fact about this type of shade is the fact that in front of my large windows I have large pcs. of furniture like recliners, couch and dinette. I have to put all of my strength into pushing them up. I am not able to get really close to the window is why so my arms are out-stretched and I dont have the benefit of extra strength when your arms are closer to your body when lifting something. I either climb on my furniture like a monkey or strain myself. Either way is not pretty. I am looking for something easier to work....btw, I am in shape and 29 yrs old. Maybe its b/c I am so short (5'0")

I had been given some false information by a Camping World parts person and was very skeptical until the blinds arrived. They were easy to install and met all of my expectations. I feel that the false information had been given by someone that did not read and understand the how to measure instructions.

Great Shades

Thank you for offering us to purchase these wonderful shades. We looked at atleast 50 campers before purchasing ours last fall, and the only thing I didn't like about our final choice was that our new camper DOES NOT have the day/night pleated shades in it. So NOW I have the option to purchase them and be totally satisfied with our new camper. Thank You Very Much Camping World.

I absolutely love my day/night pleated shades. I have them throughout my RV and would recommend them to anyone. The day shade allows light to filter in, the night keeps it quite dark and no one can see in.

We had this type of blind in our last rv and we have them in our current rv. They can be stubborn too move/adjust -sometimes requiring both hands. They don't always stay open while driving, but that could mean they need tightening. Overall they're very effective. They provide light and privacy during the day and a complete window covering in the evening. Only occasionally do I have mine completely open. With Great Danes and frequent dog shows I know about dust and it doesn't seem to be a problem for our light colored blinds.

I purchased 8 Day/Night Pleated Shades to replace mini-blinds in my 2-month-old Class A. I received them from the vendor in a timely manner and they where packaged to protect the shades from damage. I removed and re-installed these shades in less than 2 hours without any difficulty. They are cost effective to buy and look great.

These blinds do a good job, but when the string breaks there is evidently no alternative than to replace the blind. It is definately not a DYI job to repair them.

We replaced our metals blinds with the Day/Night Shades and LOVE them!! They are quiet while riding and really keeps the light out if we want to sleep in! We have the insulated ones and when we were camping in the Rockies last fall they certainly helped keep out Class A warmer! We will definately put them in any RV we own in the future!

These shades are great! They came with our new Cougar 5th wheel camper. They filter the light for daytime use like curtain sheers in your home, and block the light at night so noone can see in, or you can put them all the way up to open the window.
