My old fan was loud and was only an exhaust fan. This one will bring air in and is ran on a thermostat - perfect for when I leave my old cat in the trailer. I had a vent cover installed also - Fantastic brand - so I can cool the place in the rain. Very happy with both.

    Stylish & effective

I installed one of these units to replace the salon fan, which was dead, and it works great. I had my mechanic cut a hole in the roof of the rear bedroom and with the thermostat control I can keep it much cooler without the use of the AC. Stylish, efficient, and very effective addition to any RV. I added cowlings so I can run them as we travel down the road or in the rain.

1st one only had 2 speeds working (ordered online) returned it to the local Camping World for an exchange. It was not the easiest transaction, but, none the less they did exchange it. 2nd one worked great. Always test the unit out before caulking it down. Thank goodness I was out of caulk and was going to Camping World the next day anyway.

This is a nice model. Its well made with a thermostat, reverse and 3 speeds. Pretty much all you need. I wanted one with a translucent cover, But all I could find was smoke. kind of glad about that because the smoke lens is great. lets a good amount of light in but knocks the glare down. Now after camping with this one installed I think I'm going to change my other vent out to match.

    Super Fan

Purchased two of these fan's for my older camper when I Boondock camp. These fan's really move alot of air, but if you use a MaxxAir fan vent cover, ensure you use the high flow covers. I lost half of the air flow capacity with the standard vent cover. Couldn't imagine having to camp without these fan's to move the air, especially when it rains. I set it up with one fan blowing out and one sucking in.....clears the air in the camper in minutes! Love them.

We bought 2 powered fan vents one was another cheaper brand . We wish both were fantastic! This is the quietest of all motors, it's well constructed and the smoke vent cover is great, it includes all mounting hardware, instructions, the fan reverses, and the thermostat works perfect. It's a FANTASTIC product!!!

Your price is great depending only on the model number. Why isn't this given? Vent companies put out more than one model. Thanks.

    Great Results when dry camping

We had a single speed Fantastic Fan come with our 5er in the Bedroom. Cools very well by pulling in air from the outside when there is little breeze. It is like a whole house fan. We added this thermostat model to our Livingroom/Kitchen. The only kitchen motorized vent that came with the 5er runs with the microwave on AC. We dry camp in many of the areas we go. Since this model is 12 volt, cooking odors go out the vent. It is also reversable so you can set one fan to pull in and the second one to push out. You can close your windows and use the vents only, if there are fumes or odors from the camper next door. Very happy with them. Helps the 5er stay cool longer so the AC doesn't have to run nearly as much in the afternoon.

This is the fith one I have purchased because of trading in the trailers they were in. I have two in my newest trailer and move air around in the trailer with such volume that I don't use the air conditioner nearly as often as I used to, even in the hot weather.

I Should Have Just Bought It!

This fan is exactly what I needed. Instead, I bought the SHURflo Platinum model, remote controlled fan (CW had it on sale). That's a nice fan, but I was not happy with the confusing thermostat operation. The final result? I removed the SHURflo fan (carefully) and installed the Fan-Tastic Ceiling Fan and a Maxx-Air model 800 cover. Now I can use it anytime in any weather. It's quiet and powerful. I also learned that I don't need two of them like I was planning. I put it in the bedroom, open a window in the kitchen and the whole trailer now has air flowing through it.

I purchased this fan and partially installed it, only to find that it did not work. I contacted Camping World, returned the fan, and they sent a replacement right away. I love the fan. This is the second one that I've installed in different motorhomes and they both did exactly what they were supposed to do...they're quiet, they turn on and off according to the temperature inside the coach, and they're good looking.

    Do it right

Actually, my motorhome came with the fans that DON'T have thermostats. For the main fan, I cannibalized a wall-type residential thermostat and mounted it on the inner wall of the fan. Not for the faint of heart, but I must tell you that having a thermostat is the ONLY way to go. I can leave the rig and not worry about pets getting baked. When it gets too hot the fan kicks in, but will turn off when termperatures come back down, without things getting too cold. If you need to replace your fan and find yourselves in climates that go from hot to cold each day, spend a few more bucks and quit worrying. My only gripe with these fans (with or without thermostat) is that the lowest speed is still pretty high. Effective, yes, but more than is required for a lot of situations.

The Fantastic Fan did a great job for our popup camper. It kept a constant air flow for both the day and night time and made things quite comfortable. Easy to install and the unit makes for a nice neat job when finished.

    Top Quality Item

We just installed this on our RoadTrek Class "B". It went on easily and made a difference inside our unit immediately. Installation took about two hours. However, within a few minutes of operation we wondered how we ever lived without it. It replaces the air in our small unit very quickly and provides for a nice flow of fresh air. We generally have a problem with the stove heating up the unit quickly, but a quick experiment showed that this vent kept the ambient temperature in the unit from rising with both stove buners on. A must have!!

    Thermostat controlled Vent fan.

As has been expressed by others, the hardest part is removing the old fan, and cleaning up the area prior to installation. The provided instructions were clear and understandable, the product well made. As another reviewer, I also had to add wiring for the fan, as the previous vent was not powered, but this was only a minor inconvenience. I have not had any leaks, even after several driving storms with high winds and torrential downpours, so I am confident that this product seals well. The fan works extremely well, is quiet, and moves a significant amount of air. Appearance is good, and the fit and finish of the parts appears to be of high quality. If I were to complain about the unit at all, it would be that the cover does not close smoothly (though it opens smoothly and quietly) but bounces and makes a disconcerting sound when being closed. This ONLY occurs during the act of closing though, and when closed, or opened it does not rattle or make noises. Overall, a 9.7 on a scale of 10. I would gladly buy this product again.
