We bought this last year also , i built this in the cabinet so its out of the way and no wires show,looks and works great, love the way it works!!!!!!!!!

Easy installation and setup. Great receiption and excellent HD display on TV. Worked great at Texas NASCAR race!

I use this receiver with the Winegard Carryout automatic satellite antenna, on DISH network. They are a great pair and work for tailgating and any time you want to use portable TV. This receiver is the same HD unit we have in our RV but is $15.00 less than buying from DISH. If you don't subscribe to HD in your home you can't get this receiver from DISH. Easy setup and works great. The monthly option with no contract works fine but we just added this receiver to our home service for an extra $7.00 a month and use it in a guest bedroom. We have had no issues.

I researched the 'Pay-As-You-Go' plan, speaking to staff at both Washington stores who all told me, You call and activate it when you leave and then call to deactivate it when you return. So, I purchased this and the MP-1 Manual Carry-out. Well, they were half-right. Set-up was easier with help from Dishpointer.com, which allowed me to preset the MP-1 and scout an area of our campsite that wasn't blocked by trees. After setting the 211k to the local ZIP code, and 'Transponder 4' of the DISH 110 bird, I had a 45% signal and the receiver began running through its self-diagnostics. As soon as that was completed I got a pop-up telling me to activate my service. Thank heavens I had good cell coverage! I called the 'Activation Line' and was told they were all busy and after 3 minutes on hold, was hung up on. THREE TIMES IN A ROW. Fourth try was a charm, though, and the nice lady at Winegard quickly and effectively set my account up and answered most of my questions including... When I'm done camping I can call back to pause my service until I'm ready to go out again, correct? She had no clue what I was talking about. Several further questions only further confused her, and I'm certain she was eager to get to another caller. When I went to 'Pause' my service, I discovered accounts run 30 days at a time, regardless of how long you camp. When you decide to renew, you get another 30 days, (so no weekending, pause, weekending, pause for three weeks, 4 day weekend, pause, etc...). That isn't anywhere in the pamphlets nor what Camping World or Winegard staff said. So, BEWARE! The picture quality was very good on my 32 LCD and HD and local stations were great on the road. Since DISH has many channels split between birds (Military on 110 but Discovery on 119), I had to redo the setup several times during our trip, which was a pain! A dual-LNB dish with built-in switch would be superior to the MP-1. Overall, it's great - but the plans aren't exactly as advertised!

I received this receiver and hooked it up to the Winegard automatic carryout satellite. It has worked good so far at home and on two camping trips. Set up was easy--on my first-time set up I had both the receiver and the new carry out satellite working in less than two hours. It now takes about 5 min. to find satellites at a new location, as long as I have a clear southwest view of the sky. We travel a lot, but don't need a satellite all the time, so this works great for us. I plan on ordering a second receiver--I understand I can use two receivers on the carryout satellite, but will have to use channels that are on the same satellite.
