    quality, but be advised

I was impressed by the quality of all the components; but be advised: hardware was missing. The kit calls for a drip rail that the tarp attaches to, to be existing on the vehicle. I have no way to attach my new awnings as of yet.

Today we installed our new awning from Camping World. This was a replacement awning, and installed very easily. One person who was helping even said, "This is too easy, something must be wrong!" The awning is beautiful and operates easily. We are very impressed with the rain-dumping feature.

Took less than 1 1/2 hrs to install with 2 people. 20 footer and support system. Saved over $350 by ordering off of the web site and installing myself.

Ordered online and received in just over one week....Installed in less than 2 hours with the help of my wife and 15 year old daughter.... Seems to be very good quality and I look forward to seeing how it stands the test of time and use.

Had a bad storm and got damage to my Sunchaser Awning and replaced it with the 8500 plus and it was easy to install (two people). Insurance paid to replace. I have had it out twice in the rain since and it works as good as they say! It's lighter weight and easier to put out and in that the other. If you want a awning this will work. Colors are very nice and on the top and bottom. Ordered it from CW and had it in two days. Very happy camper now!

Nice Awning, Price but Installation Wisdom!

Love the Awning. It arrived with in a week! It took myself and a friend and a ladder but...with the awning assembled on the ground with the latch in Role Down remove the cotter pins that hold the springs! If you twist the arms at all the cotter pins can get locked up then its a pain to pull them out. It also helps to read the instructions but I'm a guy and I haven't read instructions since High School! Hope this helps

Had ours installed @ camping world after the wind took our old one...Great awning - the automatic dump feature is great. The arms are a little more light weight than older models, but still a great awning.

Spend a $1000 for a new awning and hardware and you would expect to get installation instructions with your new awning and hardware. It's not Camping World's fault it was drop shipped from Dometic. Do youself a favor and call Dometic and ask for a copy of the installation instruction to be emailed to you just in case. As for the awning itself, I'll let you know if there are any problems down the line but so far I like what I see.

I purchased this awning, along with all the hardware to replace an OE awning I lost in a thunderstorm. I placed the order after doing a lot of research locally to see what it would cost to have one installed. Estimates ran from $1,300 to $1,700. First of all everything arrived at my house in less than a week. Installation instructions were very thorough and everything went together without a hitch. Even though it was a replacement, I don't think it would have been much different if it was a new installation. One thing you may want to buy is a tool that straightens the awning rail. Basically it is a pin with a loop attached you tap through the rail to straighten out any kinks. Then clean the inside of your rail, dry it and sparingly apply some silicone. Feeding the awning into the rail is a 3 man job. DONT ATTEMPT IT WITH LESS! I wouldn't try doing this on a windy day either. The tension is set at the factory and is a bit tight so be ready for a hefty tug when you roll it up for the first time.

Very happy with this awning. Went together easier then I thought it would. Three people to install on the rail is ideal. Make sure to level out the arms

This was a new install. I ordered the hardware kit and awning, however I did not know that the drip rail did not come with the install package. Had to buy it locally $75 extra.

    Poor quality fabric

I purchased a universal awning fabric replacement. Installation and customer service from Camping World was excellent, however the awning fabric started to deteriorate and tear just after the one year manufacture warranty expired. The motor home was barely used and the awning was only opened twice for a couple days after the installation of the awning fabric. The CW representative did everything possible to get Dometic to consider replacing the awning under warranty and they refused. This may have just been a bad production line or quality control issue, but it should of held up a lot longer than it did.
