Freak storm blew in and ripped my awning onto my roof, which destroyed the original, 13 year old shroud. I got nervous of the fitment after reading some of the reviews, but I have to say it installed easy, right there in the RV Resort I was staying at. I didn't have to drill out any rivets, or redrill any holes. It lined up perfect. I don't know if it helped, but I didn't tighten any screws until I had all of them started, and I alternated around the shroud to prevent it from being off center. Removing what was left of the old shroud and installing this shroud took about 20 minutes, with hand tools.

The replace shroud quality is clearly better the the original and screws and foam strips are provided. The instructions do an adequate job of detailing the steps for installation and some modifications you may have to make depending on the exact type of coil i your unit. HOWEVER, there is no mention that those of us with Dometic units that do not have the gray band at the bottom of the shroud will have to drill out the dozen or so rivets to remove the gray band to be able to install it! This tip is mentioned in descriptions of this exact replacement on other websites, but no mention on Camping World's site or in the instructions. This one missing step would have saved me an hour of standing on the roof of my RV trying to figure out how to install the darn thing and force me to rate it 3-stars instead of 4.

installed the shroud at the park i was staying in over the winter.had to drill new holes for most of the 14 screws.they just were'nt lineing up.it was'nt a big deal.its still on there after traveling 1000 miles and expect to be there a long time.it looks really good as the old one had a lot of uv damage over the years of wintering in florida.

Very pleased with product.Delivered to door in about a week,even after processing Canada Customs.Duty assessed on receipt. Unit came with replacement foam stripping & set of new screws.Installation was fast.I soon realized that in order to prevent buckling of the skirt/ band, it was necessary to tighten the screws from back to frontalternatively side to side.

The new shroud is better than the original. It has a rear venting area that gives the shroud more strength and I feel will hold up better. Although the original held up for 8 years.

I received the shroud quicker than expected and have installed it with only one minor problem. The rear screw holes were slotted the same as the other holes but the screws are bigger in diameter so I had to drill out the slots to fit the screws. No mention of this in the instructions. Also, the shroud did not come with any Dometic logos as shown in the picture. Just 'plan Jane' generic. Overall, I'm pleased with the product.

Got my replacement shroud within a week of ordering. Had to remove the gray extender by drilling out the rivets, but it fit like a champ on my 2005 GBM Pursuit. Old one was so brittle it was breaking apart. I suspect it was defective since the front unit is fine.
