Got this unit last year when the original '78 Coldstar died. I installed the unit myself with a slight modification to the our cabinet. I used the same panel wood that I rebuilt the chimney with so they match nicely. We've had many compliments on the appearance of the finished product. We chilled it down overnight so we could conserve our remaining propane for the stove and furnace. It took over 3 hours to get to the campsite and everything was still good and cold. We're still experimenting with the settings because we put a circulator in the bottom and it froze our food. That tells me that we won't have any problems keeping our food cold unlike the outgoing unit. There's plenty of space for a weeks worth of food (for two of course). I do a lot of research before I purchase anything of value. This is a great product.

The spring in the latch failed twice in 4 years, its way to small to hold up for long. The AC power in the thermostat has failed twice in 4 years as well (that's a $100 part). If you need AC 120 V for the fridge, budget 100 for every year or two replacing the most expensive part on the back panel. you might get lucky and have the warranty cover the part (not the labor) on the first failure. I wish they would sell RV products that handle the same duty cycle as a house hold product :(

This should have been a direct replacement for the out going rm2510 that was original for 1991. The only problem with the new one is the fins on the back are deeper so it would not fit all the way in the hole. I had to remove the paneling of the camper and fab a recess in the wall, it was an extra 1/2 hour and a trip to the hardware store was all. The spring on the latch on the old one was broke also. And it does not look like they have fixed the problem in all of those years, because the spring looks like it will not last long. Camping World was also very helpful when I had questions about trying to find a replacement, but the only one that will fit is the rm2510, so I am stuck with the same one. This would be a three star for the fridge, but dealing with Camping World made it so much better. Thank you Camping World!
