As with any coffee maker; what is a cup. I get 2 12 oz mugs. I suppose a cup is 6 oz. It does a good fast job of brewing. One feature it doesn't have is auto timed shut off which means you have to remember to shut it off. I bought it because my wife drinks de-caf and I do regular. It would not be a good pot for more than one person unless you each only drink one cup. For the price I paid. 9.95 and got free shipping it is worth it.
