I thought that buying the best was good but right from the start it was a bad investment, I called the factory and was instructed to increes the pressure, then I would pop the fuse, which was a 15 amp so I redused it and it dosent pop that any more, but is is the hammering that gets me I have to purge the 5er from the fornt to the back to stop that, the water starts out slow then builds op to pressure. I will be taking the 5er to them and have them check it out, if they dont fix it I'll just have to eat the loss. and put in the original pump, the cheap one.

Well I learned first hand how powerful this pump really is... First, let me say that installation was very simple and quick. No fuss, a couple of wire nuts, two clamps and the pump was in and running. The pump keeps up very well with 7 people water use. My relief valve on the fresh water tank failed and, when the tank ran dry, the pump kept running... the tank was sucked in and collapsed. It wasn't the pump's fault that the valve on the tank failed, but it might be nice to have some kind of cut off that stops the pump if it runs non-stop for x amount of time without running water. The pump will obviously run dry without damage to the pump itself.

Well our third pump in just over three years crapped out! As soon as you turn the power on it blows the fuse. Luckily we kept the old pump in the camper so we can finish out our trip with water. We are done with this pump we will not purchase another SHURflo product. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Purchased this pump about 4 years ago and only used it a couple months and the pressure switch failed. Sent it back to company and it was repaired and shortly it failed again. Havent used it since. Looked on internet for parts and it lists pumphead repair kit and then said N/A. Talked to an RV dealer today and asked if they could get parts for the pump and he called the company as I was standing there and they said no repair parts available. I paid over 200 dollars for the pump and cant even get it fixed. Not happy at all.

I have had the Shurflo 5900-2011 water pump in my Dutch Star for over 4 years, replacing the Shurflo original equipped pump due to water pressure. (Wife very unhappy over our water pressure.) One of my problems with water pressure is using a water filter that only allows 2.0 gpm flow. I keep my 120 gal fresh water tank filled and use the pump to supply my coach's water. (Even when hooked up to campground water) I have traveled all 49 states with this coach and have found very few campgrounds with 60# water pressure. I do not know what pressure I have with the 5.7 pump, but it deliverers all the water we need at a pressure that we are use to at our home. My unit just went "south" (electronically) so I am replacing it with another 5.7 unit. Shurflo service could not have been better the few times that I had to contact them.
