Bought this FloJet system three years ago, and when I first bought it, it was fantastic. Loved being able to clean out my tanks at home, and the backflushing feature is wonderful. Even if you have a flush system built into your motorhome, it was nice to be able to flush water directly into the bottom of the tanks to get those pesky remaining particles. However, and here is where the stars drop off for me, after about a year and a half, I started having trouble with it. I thought because of the wifes long hair getting wrapped around the chopper. First time, I had to take the thing apart, cut all the hair away, then put it back together. It worked that day after I thought I fixed it. But, next trip, fought it again. Broke it down, cleaned it out, and it worked just enough to pump the tanks out. Next trip...stopped working all together and I have a nice paperweight. Now I am not so sure it was the wife's hair, because the motor just barely ran prior to the total loss of operation. Keep in mind, I only take about four or five trips a year, using it one or two times a trip. I am in Arizona, so drying the thing out before storage goes really fast so I don't think rust was an issue. Was using the recommended hose, and was running it about 45 feet on mostly level ground, so that should not have been an issue either. It is a great concept, and I might have just got the lemon, but it is hard for me to say buy this product after my experience. If you have the money just sitting there, you might as well give it a shot and I hope you have better luck than I did.

Wow!! This unit is awesome!! I used to have to wake up early on the departure day of every trip and spend a minimum of 3 hours flushing my tanks. I am a stickler for cleaning my tanks. I could probably be considered anal about it. I had no way of flushing my tanks at home, so I would always have to look for a park with full hook-ups on the way home from a long trip (Not anymore). I was able to flush my tanks out to my satisfaction using a clear adapter. I did have to purchase 12/3 wire suitable for extension cord. I just didn't use the 3rd wire. I liked this type of cord becasue it is easy to roll up and store. I also had to purchase battery clips. I spent an additional $100 with the purchase of 3/4' hose, wire and the battery clips, but it was well worth it. I figured I could save money by stopping at a Wal-mart parking lot on the way home from a long trip. I highly recommend this product!!

I bought my FloJet about 14 months ago. With the flush back system I think I removed things that were left by the last owner of my motor home. It is the best way to handle this part of camping. If you are looking for an answer to the dumping problem this is it. I ran me a 12 volt wire back to the dump valves and all I do is plug in the remote, hook up the hoses and the job will be over so quick you won't know it even happened. By turning on the flush back hose just a little you can run the pump motor and clean the unit before it is ever removed. Don't try this with full water pressure and both drain valves closed. Bad things will happen.

My husband and I have been using this pump for the last 2 years. My husband loves the fact that it is so simple to use that I can do it and after getting home from a long trip the last thing he wants to do is mess with the tanks so now I can do it and it takes about 20 mins to hook it up and empty the tanks and flush and you are done till the next trip. This was the best money we have ever spent and I tell everyone that if u have a rv you should get this it makes a crappy job easier. BETTER than 5 stars

I have never felt like doing a product review before, but this product is the best thing since canned beer. I have a small class B motor coach (Airstream Interstate built on a Sprinter Van) with fairly small grey and black water tanks so they need to be dumped after just about every trip. However, the closest dump station to our home is nearly 35 miles away—a big pain of a round trip just to dump the tanks. With this pump, I am able to run 150 feet of 3/4 hose to my septic tank at the back of my property and save the trip. The black water tank is drained in literally 1 minute and the gray water in a minute and a half. This thing works better than I dreamed to hope.

I was amazed to find that the pump would stay ahead of the built in black tank flush fitting on my rig. I had to use a 100 ft hose on the discharge, on the level, and the pump did a fine job and will pump the black tank empty while city water is being used to flush the tank at the same time. I am very pleased. my only problem was the wiring extension supplied had to be extended to reach my battery bay for a direct connection.

I recently purchased the FloJet RV Waste Pump Kit to pump out the holding tanks of our 5th wheel which we are living in part time while we build our home. The trailer is parked about 60' from the septic system inlet, and I had no way to position the trailer any closer to it in order to use my conventional hoses to dump the holding tanks. I read the Camping World reviews and went ahead and ordered the FloJet pump on 9/18/09, and used it for the first time today, 10/4/09. I had previously spliced on 15' of 12 AWG wire and a pair of battery clamps so that I could connect the pump to the trailer battery. I then attached my clear RV hydrojet to the sewer outlet first, and then connected the FloJet Waste Pump to the clear fitting. With this configuration, I could observe the waste stream and assure myself that the pump was working properly. I then ran a 75' 3/4" hose from the pump outlet to my septic inlet. What I observed when I opened the black water valve and turned on my new pump was nothing short of amazing!! The pump worked flawlessly, grinding the waste stream up and pumping it out in about 9 minutesI I've never been so impressed with the performance of a new product before! After pumping out the black water tank, I opened the gray water tank and pumped that out next. The pump was a joy to use. It didn't heat up at all, and flushed clean when I was done. I would highly recommend this pump, and my only regret is that I didn't buy it sooner!

works great, even better when you follow directions. alows backflow to help flush tank. Doesn't do tampons though but easy to take apart and take stuck peas out and change fuse in remote.

I just used my flojet for the first time today. I used it with a battery charger and 150' of 3/4" hose. (I carry 25' of 3/4" hose for rv parks). What a pleasure!!! Clean, fast and easy. I'll never use a standard sewer hose again. My sensors had stopped working correctly and with one back flush they were clean and working as they should. This is the only way to go!!!! I HIGHLY recomend this product. You wont be sorry!

I recently received my new FloJet waste pump and have used it three times so far. I connect it to a 3/4" hose 100 feet long and it empties both of my tanks in less than ten minutes, this includes backflushing also. Its nice to see a product that works as stated and I would recommend it to anyone.

I recieved my pump this week and hooked it up. I pumped the tanks out threw 150 ft. of 3/4 inch hose and had no problems. The other nice feature this pump has is a port with a valve to back flush your tank out. I done this and pumped out the tank again. No over heating of the pump at all. It emptied the tanks out completely. I am happy with the pump it will save me the problem of hooking up and taking the trailer about 20 miles to dump the tanks I can do it all at home.
