The unit works fine. However it would have been better, had a sensor been available that was compatable with the original gas valve. It was necessary to replace both the alarm/sensor and the gas valve. Rather than spending $60 and no labor cost or further parts necessary, it cost me aproximately $335 for parts and labor.

I was unable to find the brown version at the store, but was able to get it through the web site. It was easy to install: two screws and two wires. It was a little smaller than the device I was replacing, but I was able to adjust for that. My old unit was nine years old, which was beyond the life expectancy, and was setting off false alarms. This unit works great. I would buy it again. We were travelling with my brother and his wife on a three month trip when it went out. Coincidentally, his went out about the same time. He purchased the same unit and is very happy with his as well.

    Replaces the CCI Propane Alarm

My original equipment CCI alarm used a plug to plug into the power supply. This had two wires. I had to cut the old wires to the plug and crimp these wires to the old ones. The mounting holes were also slightly different requiring me to angle the mounting screws to fit into the existing holes. Functionally it is the same and I am happy with it. Five years from now it should be easy to mount a replacement.

I had to replace the detector in my RV and this one worked perfectly. I had to use small wire nuts to connect my plug but it was no problem at all.

My old alarm was eight years old and was starting to go off for no reason. Voltage was fine and no gas leaks but lots of false alarms at really inappropriate times. This unit was easy to install ; just two wires to connect with wire nuts. I tested it with a small propane torch that I let run near the sensor for a couple or three seconds. It sensed the gas an the alarm went off. Pretty happy with the super easy installation!
