I have used this style of refrigerator air circulation device for a few years now on our trips to Florida with temps in the 80's. ... It definitely improves the uniformity of temperature in the box especially when stuffed full after a trip to the grocery store. The batteries last 4 weeks. The only reason I had to repair mine was because I left the batteries in the case after they had run completely down causing corrosion--my fault not theirs. I recommend this product for anyone using the typical propane/electric absorption type refrigerator in their RV. My fridge is about 5 cubic feet so I can't vouch for the effectiveness in a larger unit.
This is a much better fan than the blue cube one that is offered. Moves air that you can at least feel compared to the blue one. W...orth the money despite the minor flaws. Would be nice to have a better way to remove the battery cover.
I bought this fan over 2 years ago for my refrigerator. As with other reviews, it is hard to take apart to replace the batteries, ...very possible to break. Just be careful & take your time pulling apart, and the pieces should not break. Otherwise it moves air great and keeps the refrigerator cool. I recommend taking the batteries out after every trip, unless you leave the refrigerator running all the time. The breaking possibility is the reason I gave this a 4 star and not a 5.
My Toyhauler has a Domitec refrigerator that does not have a temp
control. I used to experience mediocre temps when camping in h...igh
temps (we often camp in the high deserts). After purchasing the
Airator, I noticed a dramatic difference. The refrigerator
remained evenly cool throughout. The two D batteries required to
run the unit have lasted up to two 4-5 day trips. I usually don't camp for
longer than that, so I don't know the exact battery life. Worth it.
This is a better fan than its competition but it's not perfect. The face plate
broke on mine the first time I changed the batte...ries. A piece of tape now
holds it together. However, it does move air much better than the square
one, also sold at Camping World. I use both of them in my fridge. It
cools down quicker and stays cooler in hot weather. This has a superior design. I do recommend this and give it
We had food that was molding and frost building up on the fins. Have been using this air mover for about 3 months and has solved ...about 95 percent of our problems. Will be buying another to put in the outer walls to promote better circulation.
I was hesitant to pay the price for this little fan but it is worth the big bucks! When I start up my refrigerator the night befor...e a trip, I place the fan inside next to a couple of frozen bottles of water and by
morning it is cool enough to fill even on a hot Florida day. During the trip I refreeze the bottles then place them in the door with the fan to keep the temperature even. The first time I opened the fan I was challenged too, but if you use the tip of a knife to depress the catch it comes apart easily. As another reviewer suggested I always remove the batteries between trips.
I just received the airator and have not placed it in the RV yet.. I placed two D batteries in it and it would not snap
close so ...I had to wrap a large rubber band around it to keep it closed. And to cut it off you have to either remove the
batteries or place them in the same direction so they won't provide any power to the airator. It seems for the price
they could have provided a on/off switch and a better closure. It is quiet. Not sure how good it is going to work so I gave
it 3 stars.
The frig fan does exactly what it is designed to do. Once the batteries are installed the fan kicks on right away. It
was so quie...t I had to check if it was working! I was shocked at how quiet this was. This fan keeps the cold air moving.
The fridge airator works like it should and keeps the air circulating and the food cold. The only complaint is that there is no on.../off switch. I have to remove the batteries to turn off. This is the only reason I did not give it five stars
This is a wonderful little gadget. I put it in my freezer, and it keeps it at 0 degrees, even when it is 90 degrees outside. My ic...e cream bars and ice cubes remain nice and hard. Love it, love it, love it!
Good product- compact, quiet, seems well constructed, inexpensive. Effective at
establishing even temperature throughout refrige...rator. Highly effective for RV fridges that have passive air flow only. I recommend this product.
We used the Fridge Airator the first time during our one week visit to Sam Rayburn
Resevior. It allowed us to lower our refriger...ator by at least one setting; and helped keep the temperature more consistent from top to bottom. We do wish it had an on/off
Bought one of these units when our refrigerator started going bad. Bought Brand-X before
and it didn't last 2 months. Can't say ...enough good things about this unit and how easy it is
to use. A Real Life Saver!!!!!
I purchased 2 Fridge Airators. I have one in my 5th wheel camper and the otherin a
dorm size refrigerator which does not come eq...uiped with a fan. They do an excellent job. I recommend them to anyone.
i used the ridge airator for the first time this week. It was great it cooled down my fridge really quick. I kept it at the right ...temp all week long. It was easy to use. I would recommend this product to anyone with a camper.
bought this for the 8 cu ft. Norcold fridge in our motorhome. Reduced cool down time
when starting fridge by at least 6 hours an...d keeps all of food and drinks colder. The
bottles in door would take a long time to get cold and wouldn't stay cold when temps
were in the 85+ degree range outside. Only bad points are slight hum and no off
switch. Batteries lasted all summer..
I first got 1 in 2007, it quit in 2012, I got a different brand, Yes it has a switch. It takes 2 batteries that don't last very lo...ng. The Fridge Airator batteries lasted weeks, this time I am going to buy 2 unites, 1` for the Class A and 1 for the 5th wheel. not going to buy brand X again.
Gave this 4 stars because I have never used it and just put the thing in the fridge. Had a little trouble getting the back of it o...ff to place the batteries. In fact when I did get the back off I sent the charcoal filter sailing. After getting the back off was pretty straight forward. Put batteries in and fan started right up. Yes, this thing is very very quiet. Either I'm deaf or maybe weak batteries but the only way I could tell the fan was working was to actually feel the soft air flow out the chimney. Will update when I have food in the fridge.
This just came in today so I have not tried it in the fridge yet, but it would not work when I installed the batteries. It was mis...sing the metal piece that contacts the batteries on the inside of the battery cover. I added a piece of aluminum foil so it would contact the batteries it seems to work fine so I will keep it and try it out. Check out yours if you order one.
The description states that batteries will last up to 30 days. We put new batteries in and they were dead in 3 days. It hardly mov...ed any air. Maybe we got a defective unit but I probably won't try again.
On the back, the top portion is vented and sticks out further than the lower portion where the batteries go. The filter is placed inside the recessed vented area before snapping the cover back on.

Is it OK for freezer?

I see the other fridge airator you offer states it is not for freezer. This one doesn't say not to put in freezer but is referred to as a refrigerator airator not fridge/freezer airator. One review states they are using in freezer but would like to know if that is considered OK by manufactuer.
No, this does not have a switch. To turn it off, remove the batteries.
