An LP tank must have

This item worked great and took the guess work out of trying to figure out if we needed to refill the tank. I gave it a 4 star only because you have to stretch it over the gauge to read it. I would give it a 5 star if it was mounted facing you.

Great addition to my travel trailer. Took the guess work out of determining how soon before refill is necessary.

I got this to give me some idea of how much propane was left in my tanks. It works well. At least I have an idea of fullness of bottles.

i purchased 2 of these fair weather gauges i call them fair weather due to my experiance in winter they do not seem to work as well even in early spring when weather is cool the gauge will indicate a low tank i go thru the labour to pull the tank only to find i have plenty of gas left over, in fair weather they work very well this may be due to tank pressure ?

Just screws onto bottle. A little bit tight if your bottles are enclosed. Works very well.

The package says it is for 20lb tanks, yet it can be used on 30's. Also, order longer connection hoses when you order this. The stock hoses will be too short and I was only to connect one tank at a time. I appears to be a solid made product.

Mine leaked

I bought two of these; one leaked from the first installation. The gauge did indicate the tank was full, but without knowing how much was leaking from the gauge, I removed it (assuming any leakage was dangerous). Be careful.

I could never figure out how much propane is in my bottle so a friend suggested this gauge. I move it from one bottle to the other depending on which one I have in use. I only use one bottle at a time. It has also reminded me of which bottle I am using after not using camper for a few months. I would recommend it highly.

I bought the gauge to help me with checking my bottles. I have not had a chance to test it out just yet, but it reads well so far.

Hooked this up to a regular 10lb BBQ tank. Seemed to be fairly accurate. Did fluctuate as the temperature increased. Seems more accurate than shaking and guessing. Am going to try a couple on dual trailer tanks to see how they do.

I love this propane gauge!

As a full-timer, I actually spend quite a lot of time up here in Minnesota during cold weather, and use the stay-a-while external LP gas valve with an outside tank. Every once in a while, I'll run out of gas in the middle of the night and have to switch tanks, and the hand-tighten assembly sure beats digging out the wrenches. Yes, the gauge registers higher in the green area in warmer conditions, to be expected with LP gas. I'd highly recommend this gauge, especially for your BBQ grill. I remember once, having my boss and his wife over to grill some steaks, and I ran out of gas about half-way, and had to run into town to exchange the tank. Ruined dinner, and didn't do my career any good, either.

Works but somewhat Inconstant

I decided I would give one a try to see what its like (Its a pain to remove the tank to get an idea on how full it is) I was skeptical from the start about the accuracy of such a gauge, And when it tried it this weekend it looks like I was right. I put it on the tank in the morning and it was reading in the lower part of the green (about what I would expect) When I looked again in the afternoon with the sun on the tank it was reading at the top of the green. What can you expect however you are dealing with a gas where the pressure is highly effected by Temp. There is a reason LP is measured by Lbs not PSI.
