Tech Notes: Why you need a Gen-turi:

Close quarters at rallies and tailgate parties create a need for noise and exhaust fume reduction. Gen-Turi diverts nasty fumes away from the ground, where they are often inhaled by neighboring RVers.

How Gen-turi reduces generator noise:

Exhaust noise comes from generator vibration and the sound made by gases leaving the exhaust pipe. Gen-turi, secured to the side of the RV with rubber straps, prevents transfer of the generator's vibration noise to the coach. Noise is diverted upward, above the roof line. As a result, in most installations, the exhaust system is quieter with Gen-turi installed.

Customer Reviews For Gen-turi Generator Exhaust System

Making my wife happy by not gassing out the neighbors - March 07, 2009

An excellent product. Works well, easy to install and store. Our Hydro-hot exhaust is in the center of the RV so the smoke and smell go directly at the door of many MH neighbors. We also cannot leave the windows open as the diesel smell comes in. So this exhaust is the answer. Could have built one for less money but the hassle!! For us the height is not quite right so we have ordered an 18'' extension from the manufacture. Don't know why CW doesn't stock them. Would be a nice extra to sell. I'd guess 8 out of 10 buyers would purchase the extension either right at the time of purchase or would come back and buy it later. To make this work I purchased a grinding wheel for my drill to open up the exhaust of the HH just a little. It didn't take 10 minutes to do that. Also opened up the generator exhaust as it too was slightly too small. That took about 20 minutes, a bit more grinding needed. Also need to attach the eye hooks which I have not done yet. It's probably a 30-40 minute job. This first time out, I used suction cups for attaching the two straps to steady the vent. So now we can use the Gen-Turi on either the HH (which will be the majority of the time) or the generator. I suspect in the future I will purchase a second Gen-Turi so I don't have to move them back and forth. Need some time to see just how often that situation presents it's self.

Nascar fans, be a good neighbor!! - February 24, 2009

The Gen-turi Exhaust system is one of the best RV accessories that I've purchased. I have a Diesel generator in the front of our motor home , even though it is on the opposite side of the entry door , we used to often get a bit of the exhaust smell when the wind shifts. We purchased the Gen-turi about 5 years ago . I was hesitant to drill 4 little holes in our new $200,000 "vacation home", but I did. applied sealer to the anchors, added the exhaust pipe adapter, exhaust system was ready to go to work in less than an hour. We use the generator alot! when ever we "dry camp" . The Nascar races is the best example, the generator runs all day long and we don't smell a thing neither do the RVs near us. As far as the noise reduction, I can't tell a difference, the generator is very quiet already. Our generator is an "ONAN 7500"; with over 950 hours on it , most of which the Gen-turi was used. Our Last couple trips to Canyon Creek RV Park, Ca. I had Attached an External Cell phone repeater amplifier antenna (No cell service in this park without an amplifier) to the Gen-turi exhaust system because I needed to attach 14 feet of pcv pipe (my antenna mast) to something. It held up like a champ in the heavy winds and rains. Close inspection found the gen-turi exhaust system still in great like new condition , except for the exhaust soot on the inside of the pipe acumulated from years of use. I thought I could build one (being an Automotive mechanic) but after seeing several failed prototypes at the race track , I bought one , and never regreted it. Love thy Neighbor , get a Gen-turi exhaust system .

A must for tailgating RVers! - August 11, 2008
by Chris Buck from Simpson, NC

For anyone with a season parking pass to football games or other events where RVs are packed tightly together and hours are spent tailgating, this device makes the experience much more enjoyable. I have recommended it to the organizing entity, who will pass the info along to my tailgating neighbors when their parking passes are distributed. You do have to check on it occasionally as mine has fallen down a couple times...not the most solid of installations... but satisfactory given the temporary nature of the application.
