It's so comprehensive that I still have not read it all. What I have read is easy to understand and gives you all the information that you will need to make your camping decision. We are also so happy with our Good Sam discount. I am new to RVing but not to camping so joining the Good Sam club was the best decision for us RV newbies.

I bought this as a gift for a beginning camper that requested it. I personaly don't use it as I find it too confusing to understand. It doesn't go by the interstates campsites are near or the area of the state. It goes by the name of the campsite which doesn't indicate where locations are. Very frustrating.

Based on just a couple of locations, I have found that the book has less than half of the number of RV parks available in those cities. The information included is great andbased on my experiences (5 different rvs and over 25 yrs.), is rather accurate. I guess the book would be too big if it included all places to stay. In Rockport, TX alone there are many more places to stay that are listed in the directory.

This book is HUGE! But it needs to be to contain all the good information found therein. The best changes over last year are inclusion of state maps with the state information and a better sequencing of data within each campground's description. The only really bad and useless information is the inclusion of AVERAGE SITE LENGTH. Site length of 35 feet to 45 feet averages 40 feet. So does 15 to 65 feet. The point is that average length of the sites does not tell me if there is room for my 60-foot combination to fit. Bottom line - Give us MAXIMUM SITE LENGTH.

I started out using the old Trailer Life Directory, then the Good Sam Directory which improved information on campgrounds. Now using this new directory seems like nothing new to learn, only more information available in same format. Enjoy the GPS coordinates when included, much easier then street addresses. I have a GPS program I use on my computer for planning, but as all campgrounds are shown in a given city or area, I still use the GS Directory to look closely at what each offers. I have enjoyed the new directory.

This travelguide has many good resort/campground listings where Good Sam Club members can save a considerable amount on fees. The listings also show all the amenities at each campground and rate them for cleanliness and amenities.

Hi - received my new 2013 directory.....it's great with lots of info, but I have one thought for you to consider in the future. This book is way too big and heavy -- most seniors (esp. women) have lost strength in their hands/arms -- it is nearly impossible to pick this up with one hand. I wrote several years ago with an idea I had about how to divide this book into two books: all the states west of the Mississippi in one book and all the states east of the Mississippi in the other or second book. We can only travel one way or the other, so I think it would be a good solution and hopefully make the book easier to handle.

the idea of combining Woodall's with Trailer life makes this a first class directory. I would suggest , however, that some thought be given to creating a CD ( like Woodall)with all of the same information. It would make is so much easier to type in a city, etc. and have a listing of parks within a given distance, rather than try to figure out what other towns were in the area and then look at those listings

I purchased the Goodsam RV travel guide and campground directory because I needed a good source while on the road and because trying to access the Internet while traveling is sketchy at best. Even with a smart phone it can be difficult to get the info we need at the right time. This new directory has so much information about what is available in the area we are traveling too it makes it indispensable. I highly recommend this guide for anyone planning an RV trip..

The campground directory part is still good but there are now way too many pages of ads and travel guides before your get to the guides. Who wants to carry a 5 pound and almost 2000 page book in the limited space an RV provides. Keep the maps with the states, that is great, but get rid of all the unnecessary stuff. In summary, there are so many potatoes it is difficult to find the meat.

With the demise of the big Woodalls book, this is now the go to book for those who have to have a touchy feely physical book to use as a reference while on the road. It is also great as an impromptu stepstool! Seriously, this is a must have reference guide.

We have used the guide for 22 yrs and it has been very helpful in finding any campground, anywhere we are traveling.. It has great directions and what we may need at that time. Most of the time we only need electric and it informs us all the neccesary info we need. Thank you so much...

It is great to have Trailer Life's and Woodall's directories combined. However, it has become to a book of amost 2000 pages. I have and strongly recommended that this directory be split into two(2) books divided by East & West of the Mississippi River. It is nearly impossible to maintain this book on your lap in a vehicle. Secondly, with its size, it is very hard to read the contents of the inside colunm, again especially in your lap. Separating Canada and Mexico off will only save 200 pages, or how you divide them, I don't know. Other than its size, the new directory rates 10 STARS.

The book is very well put together. The editor and staff have done their usual excellent job of listing, logging and rating the campgrounds along with the latest cost of staying at them. I especially like it that now you are also including KOA and Thousand Trails/Naco campgrounds in the directory. Having a book with all this information is great as we are not always able to receive this information via internet. We may be out of range or the service is just not offered in which case the book becomes invaluable. Thanks for a great work and directory.

This book is now way too large to handle. It should be divided up into regions. This would be the southern states. Maps could be in a different book. Try to find a way to make it smaller and easier to use as you travel. Or really large states one book. Prefer Fla, Ga, NC,SC in one book. Like AAA does with with their tour books. Or do a book by a road. Say I-75 and all the cities along the way listed. Would be nice to have a Kindle Fire edition!!!!

All listings need to have coordinates as well as addresses. To often none of my 3 GPSS will accept the street address as given but coordinates always work. If not for that, I would have given the Guide a 5 star rating.

The guide book is getting to big. I has a lot of useless information. The purpose of the book is to find campgrounds. You have started a training course for RVers. What we need is a Map with places to stay and a listing of their quality.

We discovered the Good Sam RV Travel Guide and Campground Directory 4-5 years ago and haven't been without one since.When we're on the road we use it everyday to locate RV parks for the night and call ahead and make reservations. From the descriptions in the travel guide we know what to expect when we arrive for the evening. We can't say enough good things about this travel guide and directory.

I enjoy traveling with my fifth wheel and having this guide allows you to pick a direction and go. Along the way you can see what is ahead and where you might like to camp for the night or pick an area where there are other sites to see. the discription of the camping sites as to what they offer and do they allow pets come in handy. It is a good investment for anyone who enjoys travel and would like to know what is out there that sutes your needs.

This is a great guide, as it has always been. However, in this issue, we found far too many advertisements (more than past issues). We had to rip them out in order to reduce the size and weight of the guide. Please continue to put in non-Good Sam parks, county parks with camping, and national and state parks camping. We found a few missing.

Good detail on the parks that are covered, but there are a number of parks in many areas that are not listed at all. The size of the book has reached the point where the Navigator needs a full table to hold it. Time to split it up into 2 books. Much better coverage detail on the military campgrounds also needed. This is still the best directory at any price and especially so at Camping World

We have found in the past, the directory to be quite helpful and accurate. We have also in the past, purchased the Trailer Life CD set along with the book. My wife likes the printed and I prefer the digital version. The NEW 2013 book has grown to near un-managable size. My wife has small hands and my hands are arthitic so we both have a bit of trouble using the book. We still like it however. Because I prefer the digital format to load into my computer, I purchased the 2012 Trailer Life CD set since there wasn't a 2013 version available. It appears they may have quit selling the digital format. My suggestion would be to offer a CD or DVD set as well as the printed version. Also break the book down into a 2 book set by states ie: (A-L and M-Z)

We have a large coach that is 41 ft. long, 13.1 high, 102 inches wide with full sideslides that are 42 inches wide. Plus…we tow a vehicle. The Guide usually contains great information. Howeverthere are times when resorts and/or campgrounds state “BIG RIG friendly” in the listing; but each campground’s idea of “BIG RIG” is different. Many lots have trees that don’t allow room for large slide-outs. Many of the roads within the campground have large trees hanging over as well as some roads are not wide enough for maneuvering around to get into a site. This is especially difficult if you are pulling in at night. We arrived at a “BIG RIG friendly” campground (in Kentucky near the merging of SR 71 and SR 75 to Ohio around 4:00 PM) that required making a U-turn around a huge tree. My wife had to direct me inch by inch around the huge tree while avoiding trees on the outer perimeter of the U-turn and to also move my mirrors to accomplish this. Once in our site we talked with our neighbor who said he couldn’t make the U-turn and had to unhook his tow vehicle which was close to a jack-knife position. If there could be standardization for the term BIG RIG friendly that would help those of us with larger coaches.

Have used the Campground Guide for years and always loved it. This new incarnation is every bit as good as the old one, with the addition of some of the features from Woodall's that make it even better. It's nice to know that there is a relatively impartial evaluation of campgrounds out there that isn't packed with inflated reviews from overly biased contributors.

Book is much to heavy and thick for comfortable use. Needs to be separated into at least eastern and western editions. Some campgrounds that we know exist are not shown in the book. Also, it would improve usability if the cityassociated with the various parks was shown at the top of the page. The book does contain good information.

We rated this 5 stars because of all the information in this directory. For sure, we'll be using it this summer as my wife and take to the roads for a couple weeks. No idea where we'll wind up, but with this new directory and all the information it's crammed with, we're sure to enjoy our time on the road in our brand new RV! We'd love to possibly travel to Las Vegas as there are RV destinations all the way to, and back to Florida! Geesh, getting excited just thinking about this trip! We would reccomend this directory as we have tried others however, the Good Sam's version has much more detail and items of interest for all.

The new, combined Trailer Life/Woodalls Guide is as useful as ever. The campground descriptions are comprehensive and the ratings give an idea of what one might expect. We cannot give the guide a higher rating because is is just too big and heavy. Due to that fact it is much less user friendly than either of the previous publications.

Best one yet ! campground information clear and concise with good directions to them from the road. Rules of the road and information about tunnels and bridges are really great and will keep a lot of us out of trouble.. My copilot wife is the main user and she says that we are fortunate to have all this information available to us. We get a new one every tear and marvel at the improvements each time !

It holds all necessary info to find RV parks. However the first 100 pages is full of unnecessary stuff making the book way to bulky. Since I have to retrieve this book from the rear seat of our truck and need to twist around, the weight and bulk is extremely inconvient. I will rip out the first 100 pages and hopefully make it more user friendly.
