Stablized the Front of the 5th wheel

    June 12, 2014
Did the job stabilizing the 5th wheel. We have a 2014 Forest River – Wildwood - Heritage Glen Fifth Wheel - 366BH which is 42 feet long. When anyone would walk around the master bedroom or go to the bath/shower everyone inside the camper felt it. After installing the Heavy Duty King Pin Stabilizer with the leg extensions (don't forget to measure before ordering or you maybe too tall to install it.) This firmed up the 5th wheel and now we can walk around without disturbing everyone, especially going to the bathroom in the middle of the night. I recommend this product.

    Stabilizer - 5th Wheel

    April 01, 2014
I installed the stabilizer on our 5th wheel about a month ago. Other than missing the lock, (I notified their CSR. We are still waiting for the lock), the stabilizer did make a difference. It was easy to set-up. It did help the front and back motion of our 5th wheel. However, when we have the slides open, the side-to-side motion was still noticeable. But, there was a difference. I would recommend this to other 5th wheel owners.

King pin stabilizer works well on my 38' Cedar Creek with airborne pin box. adjustment handles for threaded adjustment don't always stay out and can be cumbersom. I would also like the threaded section to have another inch of adjustment.Otherwise they would be 5 star but a good investment overall.

It would be nice if the legs were longer, in order to get it to work on my 28' fifth wheel I had to compress the legs together almost to the point of instability, luckily I had some square tubing from a previous project and I made new longer legs. When I purchased mine there was no data regarding the working height of the unit that would have allowed me to accurately gauge how stable the footprint would be.. While doing my review I stumbled across leg extensions for this unit, why should you need leg extensions? according to my dealer all fifth wheel king pins sit at approximately the same height while at rest! maybe they should fix the design flaw.

    Heavy duty King Pin Stablizer

    December 14, 2012
I bought this for my husbands Birthday, December 2, 2012. We talked about it all summer after we bought our 5th wheeler. We went to several campgrounds in Iowa and really enjoyed our first 5th wheeler very much. Only one problem, every step we took would result in a slight wiggling motion, No King Pin Stabilizer. And on two different trips we had significant wind that it was somewhat creepy. My husband went to a local lumber store and bought a 6x 6 square piece of treated lumber, had them drill a hole in it big enough for our extra regular ball hitch to fit in- tightly. Then he brought it back to the campground and hooked it up to our 5th wheeler thinking it would add some measure of stability. I can say it helped a very small bit. So when we got home I received one of your sales flyers with the Stabilizer in it on sale. I quickly sent off for the one we got. He opened his Birthday gift thinking I must of got him some weights or something, the box was very heavy. Then he saw it and was so surprised and happy. We are heading to Alabama end of January from Iowa to get out of the bitter cold winters we have. He's already tried it out, has it set for quick set up when we stop on our way down. We also bought a padlock and heavy chain for it, he put a heavy duty ring on it to run the chain through to keep it from disappearing if we go on bike rides, or into a local store on our trips. It easily hooks up to the frame of our pickup for when we are parked somewhere. He painted the frame part so it matches our truck- Red. And he used a etching tool to put our name and address on it as well. We are hoping none of the identifying things ever need to be used but let's face it it isn't the 50's anymore where you could leave your car keys in the car unlocked in driveway.

Just got our first RV and this is one product We thought would be beneficial to have. We were right, it really made a difference. We have the front living floor plan with five grand babies hopping around and we noticed much less bounce/movement so yes, it helps to stabilize . We also bought the extensions but have not used them yet. The only issue I have is the bottom plate on the legs, very, very sharp considering kids running around barefoot playing hide and seek after dark. We put leveling blocks under them to get the sharp corners up and less likely to be stepped on. Product does what it claims just one safety issue.

    Great Customer Support

I bought this for our 5th wheel and used it almost 2 seasons. While I was unscrewing the pin cup, the threads somehow cross-threaded, (this was in the middle of thethreads, not at the start). This effectively destroyed the adjustable part of the stabilizer. The included chain alsobroke after the second use. The manufacturer has a lifetime warranty on the stabilizer, and after a quick e-mail with the company, they sent me the parts to fix it. This stabilizer works great, there is no movement in our 5th wheel.

Before I bought this product everytime I turned over in bed my trailer would shake. I believe having a slide out made it worse. When I used the stabilizer all the shaking stopped. Also it took off the stress from the landing grear that would sink into the ground after a few days. The lock keeps it from walking away when you are gone for the day.

I purchased this item in a local Camping World store about a year ago, when we purchased our 2011 Montana 5th wheel. Previously, I wrote a review and only gave it 4 stars because the height could not be adjusted, and I would have to put levelling blocks under the pads. Well, lo and behold, while browsing the web site, I came across the leg extensions. I ordered them immediately, and now I am updating my review and giving it 5 stars!

I got the tripod home from the store and set it up easily. It does seem to work OK even with only two of the three feet. The package was short one foot and locking pin. I called the mfg. company and left a message with customer svc. 2 1/2 days later still no call back. I will be returning this to the store. If you have a problem with your tripod don't bother to call the mfr. Customer svc ain't what it used to be (or should be).

Bought this stabilizer last month and set it up that weekend in just minutes. It was really easy and I couldn't believe what a difference it made on my 5th wheel! You know how they can be, if the wife gets up early to make coffee, your up also like it or not. You just feel every move someone makes or if the wind is blowing, (and not all that hard either) you can't help but to notice. To be sure, making it as level as possible helps out some, but it stills moves enough to let you know about it. But, since I added the Heavy Duty King Pin Stabilizer, you can feel the difference all through out the unit. No more swaying every time I step up to the bedroom, or walk through the living room headed for the kitchen! We even feel safer on the steps coming in and going out! It really made that much of a difference for us. Now don't get the wrong idea, we are older today than yesterday and younger today than tomorrow, but we are each only 53 years old and pretty steady on our feet, but thanks to this stabilizer we feel our 5th wheel is just as steady now. If you want a more sturdy feel in your 5th wheel, this is the product I would recommend to anyone asking!

    Falls short...

    November 04, 2011
I could not find clear information on the height the stabilizer extends to. After contacting a customer service representative I was directed to technical support. The technician advised me the unit is 48-56 fully extended. I ordered the unit based on these measurements. I am disappointed to report that these measurements apply to the stabilizer in the position whereas the legs are not extended in the open (triangular) position. Upon expanding the legs(as shown in the Camping World photo) the unit falls short with a maximum height of only 48 from the ground to the bottom of where the kingpin would rest. This will not work for me and I am awaiting shipping return labels from Camping World. I am told I should see the return labels in 2-3 weeks. This does not seem reasonable since the stabilizer was delivered in less than 1 week.

Before I bought this Tripod, I read the reviews and said the heck, if I dont like it I will send it back.. It came via UPS and I pulled it out of the box. The set up was very easy , you basically put the feet on and that is about it. Now before I place the Tripod under the Pin, I got in the trailer to get a feel of how it moves and shakes from side to side and that feeling, that bounce you get when you are walking in the trailer.Once I got the feel, I placed the Tripod under the pin, did some counter clock wise turns and checked it see if the chain on the Tripod was tight. I then went back into the trailer and guess what, IT DID NOT MOVE . I mean that trailer was tight!! SO bottom-line, if you want the moving to stop, then get this items. I have a Terry Resort 5th wheel at 19 ft and thought my rig was too small for this item, I was wrong. So for me and the wife, it is great, no more shake or movement while we sleep or if the wind blows aganist it. Also as a note, I bought this and 3 other items as a President Club member and got the discount and the $5.00 shipping for all of it. KA'CHING!!!

This Stabilizer does work very well. I have a large 5th wheel so the stabilizer needs to be put on blocks to get the correct hight. I would have given it 5 stars if not for needing to use blocks with it. The construction is well built and it does come with a lock too which is a plus. I wouldn't hesitate getting this stabilzer just know that you are probably going to need blocks to get the proper hight.

I bough one of these when we bought our first Jayco 5er, after having 6 travel trailers. It took the "wiggle out of the Jello"! Really works, just crank the 5th wheel a bit higher than level, screw the tripod's "cup" up till it covers the king pin, snug it down, then power down your fiver till it sits firmly on the tripod. Rock solid! And a good strong padlock (not the crappy one included!) and you have at least some anti-theft protection. Heavy, yes, but thats what makes it better than the aluminum version! Honestly worth every penny paid, likely the best thing I've bought for our 5er so far!

UltraFab built a great product here. It really does solidify the entire movement of my 5th wheel. The stabilizer is easy to put together the first time and even easier to setup when using. It's made of steel so it is heavy, but that in itself adds to the strength and stability factor. The included padlock is rather cheasy, I recommend finding a replacement. Other than the weight issue, I highly recommend this product.

First of all, this is a super product. Assembles easily and works as advertised. Just wish I had seen this first before buying my pin lock as this serves both purposes. Also, the manufacturer, Ultra-Fab is super as well. Due to mis-handling from our glorious post office, one of the foot pads was missing. Between Camping World's assistance and the good folks at Ultra-Fab, I had a new foot pad within three days.

This stabilizer cut down on a lot of the movement in our trailer. When I cannot use it because of various leveling scenarios, I notice the difference. I just purchased some BAL wheel chocks, which I think will help cut down on the rest of the movement. Yes, the lock is cheap, but since we are weekend campers I had no need for it anyways......

I have a 35 ft. 5th wheel and had a lot of movement. I just purchased this and put it together. Very simple to use, and EXTREMELY sturdy. It does not stop all the movement, but it makes it 90% better. I would highly recomend this to anyone with a 5th wheel. While it may be a little heavy, it is not hard to store, and the weight helps it to be more stable.

I've used this on my 27ft 5th Wheel. Stopped all feeling of movement in the bedroom, and quite a bit (but not all) movement in the rest of the trailer. Two drawbacks are: heavy, and awkward to store. Overall, its still worth every penny.

This is the second one, the first was missing parts, two chains, no hardware. It stoped all side and forward movements.

I have a 36ft 5th wheel with the living room located right over the hitch and had a lot of movement - side to side, etc. - I installed this on my hitch and it has stopped virtually all side to side, etc. movement. It is worth every dollar I spent on it.

We have had ours now just over 1 year, It does help to soften the movement, does not work well on gravel pads, but harder surfaces its great. the real only down side is, its extremely heavy and bulky when folded down.

This is the best in its class. My wife or myself can set it up in minutes. It's very sturdy and eliminates all side/side and forward and back movement.

Upon deliver of product, found the chain, pad lock and nuts & bolts missing. A call to customer service about this problem was resolved and the parts shipped. Very good product when all the parts are in place.

The tripod reduces the jiggle and sway about 50%. It is hard to fold up because the foot pads are so large so I modified the product to allow for removal of the feet. Quite heavy. Easy to adjust over the King pin. Probably worth the hassle to use and store.

Saw a bi-pod on my cousins 5th wheel and didn't look stable. Got the tri-pod and then also asked about a pin lock and the salesman said it's all there. The Stabilizer came with a lockalready. Easy to set and use. I even set it at the house so that it's out of the way and the pin is locked. Good product. I recommended that my mother-in-law get one and she looked at my cousins and went and bought a tri-pod just like mine. Works Great!!!!!!!

First one we got was damaged. Not by shipping but the way it was made, had a hole in one of the legs. Second one is fine. Still have more movement in trialer then I like. If we decide to put our king pin to the highest level, this product won't fit.

We purchased this jack in July of this year and it has transformed our camping experience. Before, we could feel even the smallest child roll over iin the middle of the night. Now, we all sleep soundly. This jack is a necessary item for any 5th wheel owners!

It really made a difference. Now I can't feel the upstairs shake when the kids are downstairs. Assembly was pretty easy. It could have been packaged better though as one of the supports was bent when I opened the package.

Well made, also missing part upon delivery, mfg shipped immediately. Well pleased with the products ability to stabilize the unit, however be aware that on a site that is not close the level, the stabilizer may either be too short or too long.

I got my new tripod about a week ago, the box was broken so it was missing parts. Called camping world and they shipped me the missing parts, got them in a few days, but the tripod works good, it took some of the movement away in my trailor, I am happy with it, not very good directions come with this product, but it does the job.

We just finished assembling and trying out this product and found that it definitely takes the wiggle and shake out of our 24ft 5th wheel. THe assembly instructions had Item number errors but it was easy to figure out. Once assembled it was easy to setup and adjust.

We were not able to use the first four times out because it was too tall. Couldn't remember anything in the directions about the second set of holes on the legs. Moved the three flat bars up to those holes and it fit under the 29 Alpenlite with no problem.

I bought this as a "nice to have" but it has turned out to be a necessity for my 30' fifth wheel. Not only does it do a great job stabilizing the front end, but the entire rig is more solid even with the wash machine doing its best to shake the unit. I also like the fact it doubles as a locking mechanism. Very well built and solid.

    Heavy Duty King Pin Stabilizer

We have an 11,000 lb fifth wheel. This stabilizer took 90% of the movement out of our unit. The assembly directions could have been better, but it wasn’t that difficult to figure out how to assemble the stabilizer. Initial assemble took about 15 minutes with basic tools. After assembly, I was skeptical. The stabilizer seemed too light to really work. However, after only a couple more minutes to put in place and adjust, I was proven wrong. Once tightened into place, the structure was much more rigid than I expected. I then realized the design is based on simple triangles for a rigid design. The results were great. Most of the sway in our fifth wheel is gone. We are very satisfied, especially for the price.

Excellent product. Have used it for a year now and could not be happier. Completely stopped the shifting of my 5th wheel when someone is moving around in the bedroom. Easily set up after leveling the rig and cannot be stolen when used with enclosed padlock. Also acts as a pin lock.
