Excellent source of power for RVs, including 13,500 BTU AC units, and basic home backup power
This popular model can operate a wide variety of appliances, including a furnace, fridge, microwave, most 13,500 BTU RV AC units, and much more.
Super quiet - less noise than normal conversation
So quiet, your neighbors will thank you. The EU3000iS operates at 49 to 58dB(A), which is less noise than a normal conversation. This makes it ideal for camping, RV power and any other activity that requires quiet operation.
Convenient electric starting
Easy recoil starting is also available as a back up.
Fuel efficient - Runs up to 20 hours on 3.4 gals of fuel
Thanks to our exclusive Eco-Throttle System, the EU3000iS offers great fuel efficiency. Runs from 7.2 to 20 hours on a single tank, depending on the load. This makes it great for overnight power.
Advanced inverter technology - reliable power for computers and other sensitive equipment
Honda's inverter technology means stable, clean power in a smaller, lighter package. The precision of Honda's inverter technology ensures our inverter generators produce power that is as reliable as the power you get from your outlets at home.
Double your power with parallel capability
Need more power? Add a second EU3000iS for additional power. Two identical models can be paralleled with an optional cable for up to 6000 watts of power.
12V - 12.0A DC output
The EU3000iS has a DC outlet for use when charging 12-volt automotive type batteries. (Requires an optional charging cord.)
Protected by Oil Alert
Protects the generator by shutting the engine off when low oil is detected.
I purchased this generator on faith of other people's talk. I wasn't sure which one to buy ! so after looking at what I needed too... power up I chose the EU3000IS. I have a 28 foot travel trailor with 13.5 AC and it will run it and microwave or hot water heater with no
problem. The ECO switch at night with ac and tv will run all night with no problem. 11 hours and still have 1/4 tank or more. BEST MONEY SPENT!!!
I've had one for close to 10 years and it has been reliable and a great product. My brother bought one in May of 2015. Honda made ...a change to the overload protection that eliminates the delay between an overload and kick-out. Mine will ramp up off of eco mode when the A/C kicks in just fine. The new one kicks out as soon as the A/C kick in, even with eco mode turned off. We tried both generators on a variety of campers. Mine ran just fine, his kicked out every time. His was in the shop for nearly 8 months before Honda told him about the change. In a nutshell, if he is going to run air, he has to have everything else shut off. The fridge even had to be running on propane. Like I said, we tried it on a variety of campers with the same result, so it's just not his A/C starting hard.
If you are serious about purchasing a generator. Do not hesitate to buy a Honda. We have had ours for 4 years now. The best and qu...ietest generator we could find. Well worth the money. What is really impressive is not only the lack of noise but how long it will run on a tank of gas. The last time we ran ours was with the a/c on. Lasted an easy 7 hours. Simply awesome. I would also rec. the wheel kit.
The EU300IS is by far the quietist, longest lasting, most reliable gennie in its class, second to none, reasonably priced and with... th eco throttle can run 20 hours on a tank of gas. It runs my A/C, TV and Coffee Maker at the same time in my RV, I switch off the AC compressor, turn on the micro and the gennie doesnt missa beat.
I did a lot of research and found the 3000si to be awesome!!! Super quiet, handles anything you thow at it. The electric starter i...s a real nice feature. I also tested the manual pull start--- easy! Small enough to store anywhere, powerful enough to handle our 5th wheel. Highly
recommend this gennie for anyone who demands the most from a generator. Also, in the econo mode, the gen adjusts the rpm to match the load you need. At low idle, you almost forget it's running, and that's when you're outside with it.
We had a BIG, Loud 5500 watt generator till we went to the AMA race at Miller
Motorsport Park in 2007. It was 107 deg that day w...hen the old one came to a stop. We ran in to a the near by town that had a Honda dealer. I wanted this quit generator for some time, but did not want to spend the money for it. Well 3 year later, I am so glad I did. Now if I could just get every one else in the pits to get one, I would get a quits night sleep. Haha.
Bought one as home backup & for my DJ business. I can't tell you the # of people who were fascinated by this generator. Not onl...y is it extremely quiet, but very fuel efficient as well. I did 4 DJ gigs (15 hours total) & still had 1/4 tank of fuel left. At 160 lbs fully fueled, it is not exactly lightweight, but any man worth his salt should be able to get it on & off a truck & onto a dolly. Cheaper & easier to operate/maintain than 2 EU2000's. And unlike the new EU3000 Handi, you do not have to refuel this generator every 4 hours. I would also like to add that NJ saw 4 blizzards this winter and we lost power during 2 of them. This Honda generator saved me! While everyone else in my development was siting in the dark waiting for power to be restored, I ran a fridge, entertainment center (computer, TV, cable, DVD, etc...) some lights, Nintendo Wii and a space heater no problem whatsoever!
Ordered this generator, not sure if it would provide enough power for a 30Amp
toyhauler. It worked super, turned everything on a...nd had plenty of power left and the
fuel consumption really surprised me, it's a sipper.
My old generator was good, but it was noisy and could not handle the demands of
my RV. I purchased the eu3000 and had this unit ...as a backup for my 3 month on road
vacation this past summer. I had 3 occasions to use it. One at a park with only 15 amp
hydro available. I was able to have the A/C going as well as everything else with no
problems. Another time I used it for 4 days at a relatives place as I was 300 feet away from
his hydro outlet. Then, one last time when a storm put the parks hydro out for two days. I
kept it chained up in the back of my pickup with a truck cap that locks for security.
No problems at all, just fold down the back gate, plug it in to 30 amps, turn the key and
away it goes. Oh, and I just stopped off at gas stations the next day to top off my tank while
the Honda generator was still chained up in the back. I never had to load or unload that
generator once for anything!! Just a fantastic generator. I am going to purchase another one
to daisy chain the two of them together to power my home for blackouts.
Very quiet in comparison to many other generators, and that's what you are paying for, (for the most part). Rated at 28 Amps, not ...30, so it'll keep you cool with the lights on but not much more than that. I have a 25' TT with fridge on electric, AC (13500BTU) running, and a few lights.
Anything more and you'll shut it down, that's the max as far as I've been able to test it.
This generator has more than enough power for a 30Amp toy hauler. It worked great. It
turned everything on and had plenty of pow...er to spare. It runs for 20+ hours on a tank of
gas. You can not hear it run. This is the best generator I ever bought, it was worth every
I have put hundreds of hours on my EU2000 and many hours on a borrowed EU3000 to power Ham Radio Contest Stations in the field to ...great success. They are both quiet, reliable, portable, and use the absolute minimum fuel necessary.
In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy with the EU2000, I was able to power critical items in my house, as well as for the widow next door for over a week while waiting for the power company to restore the massive number of downed lines. We kept both NaturalGas-WarmAir Furnaces, both refrigerators, and some lights, and her TV going more than 20 hours a day, just shutting down occasionally to check the oil, fill the gas tank, and give the machine a little rest. We made the first connection so she would not lose the contents of her refrigerator. The second turning point was when the weather turned cold, and her house was getting uncomfortable for her kids. Of course, keeping the TV running helped the chaos level with three young kids while all schools were shut down all week. Cable TV and Phones were also down, but her satellite reception was still good. I later put an Over-The-Air TV Antenna back up at home. Next, I really want my own EU3000. No whole house A/C, but we can fire other stuff up at will.
I was struggling with the premium of this Honda 3000 over many other brands. I can say after my fourth year of ownership, this ge...nerator is the best. Starts every time, runs quiet, and is easy to maintain. I have installed an extended run time tank and I wish the tank was slightly bigger, but I will not complain. Great value and definitely a work horse.
I decided to get this generator after doing some research and after hearing from several friends that it would be exactly what I n...eeded. I am pretty satisfied with everything except the Eco-Throttle system. It can't be used if you are operating anything that draws a lot of current like an A/C unit I understand that. However, I was using a small LED light by my bed, a fan and a small 24" flat screen television and with the Eco-Throttle engaged and it overloaded. I'm wondering when are you able to use it. If you can only use it when there is no load on there you may as well turn it off and save lots of gas.
It is highly recommended you calculate how many watts are needed at a given time you need power to appliances with high priority. Feel free to use Hondas Wattage Calculator to assist with generator selection.

Can you add remote start? Can you convert to propane fuel?
For a 15k BTU air conditioner, the generator would have to be in parallel configuration. Besides another EU3000is generator, you can use parallel kit, item# 63712, or parallel cables, item# 25929, while purchasing a 30amp locking adapter/pigtail to 30amp rv separate.

For a 15k BTU air conditioner, no. At least 3300 watts would be recommended for a typical 15k unit. Either the generator size needs to be increased or two of the EU3000is in parallel would be needed.

Can I use an inverter generator with my camper that has its own inverter?
Yes this is not a problem, your onboard inverter does not hamper the use of an inverter generator or vice versa. Inverter generators are engineered differently from conventional units; direct connection to electronic devices is safer and can run at less RPMs compared to a conventional generator.

What is the best way to charge the battery in EU3000is
If the generator has a 0.5amp charging system to recharge the battery while running. However, in the event the charge runs low an independent battery charger capable of 0.8amps is recommended. Instructions for connection & use from the battery charger manufacturer is to be followed.

The EU3000is model can be used with a 50 amp RV, yes. Please note that this model will only provide up to 25 amps maximum, so you may not be able to run everything inside the RV all at once. Plug adapters may be required for use with your RV.

The average 13,500 BTU air conditioner uses 2,800 watts at start-up with a "running" average of approximately 1,800 watts. The EU30001s will provide up to 3,000 watts max (rated load 2,800 watts). At full load (3,000 watts) a tank of fuel in this model will last approximately 7 hours. (note: air conditioner specs may vary, check the ratings of your unit to ensure the start-up requirements do not exceed the abilities of this generator)
