The newest in Honda's EU series portable generator line is the superquiet EU7000iS inverter generator. Perfect for home backup, RVs, Camping, Tailgating and other Outdoor Events. The innovative inverter technology allows your sensitive devices to be protected with clean technology. Convenient push button starting with optional remote start.
The EU7000iS is rated at 5,500 watts with a maximum output of 7,000 watts. Uses 120/240 voltage selector for high wattage requirements.
I purchased this generator in March of 2015, the main selling point for this generator was that the Camping World ad says "av...ailable optional remote start", that statement is absolutely false. Honda did not at the time make a remote start for this generator set. I was told they would have it available by Summer 2015 but that did not happen and to this date they still don't have one to my knowledge. Had I known this was the way Honda supports their products I would never have purchased this generator and would have had the Cummins 6500 installed in my Montana instead. As far as the generator itself goes, it runs very quiet and supports my power requirements for our 40 foot 5th wheel with the help of a couple of creative adapters. I gave only three stars because of the sorry customer support from Honda & Camping World on the remote start issue and this big generator has no on board battery charger, you have to use and external charger to keep the starting battery charged.
I'm not normally a product review guy, but this product rates it. The eu7000is is a remarkable product. I added a full transfer sw...itch to my house in the state of Maine, and was able to power every functional component within the home. With a fridge, microwave, tv, furnace, power venter, all lights, coffee maker, and an alexa running, this product was only pushing out 4500kw, and not even phased. The ECO mode is outstanding, as it only revs the engine to meet the electrical demand, and then powers back down when the demand drops off. My wife and I literally whispered to each other while the machine was powered on and got a kick out of how quiet it actually is. This is a heavy machine, but the wheels handle combo take all of the weight out of the problem. I pulled it out of the package, added oil, a gallon of gas, and it fired true on the first touch of the button. This will power your whole home, unless you are pushing the envelope. Camping Worlds customer service was outstanding, and got the product to me in under a week with no tax or shipping. I am an active duty Marine, and have come to learn a bit about military grade generators. This product dwarfs the competition. It is expensive, but you absolutely get what you pay for. I don't mind being the envy of the neighbors as an aside. Buy this product if you are in the market... well worth it.
Pros: Quiet, Exceeded Expectations, High Quality, Durable
Honda uses a 12V, 11.2Ah (Yuasa YTZ14S) battery in this generator.
Yes, if the generator is not going to be used regularly or placed in to storage, the battery should be removed and periodically attached to a battery charger/maintainer. A 12V intelligent multi-stage charger capable of delivering 1.1 amps is recommended. The Battery Tender Plus(SKU#102460) is a recommended unit by Honda Power Equipment.

Is the size shown with the wheel kit installed or without?
Officially Honda does not have such an accessory, but there are third parties like IPI Industries that have kits for extended fuel or Great River Company Inc. that fabricates replacement caps so a fuel line can be run to it.

Honda does not recommend the use of the generator during rain or snow to avoid shock or electrocution. If the generator is stored outdoors, check the GFCI receptacle and other electrical components on the control panel before each use. Moisture or ice can cause a malfunction or short circuit in electrical components that could result in electrocution.

This could possibly do so, however you will want to calculate the total number of Watts needed to operate your green house garden indefinitely. Honda provides a Wattage Calculator to assist in generator selection.

Yes, typically a 15k BTU RV air conditioner requires 3300 watts to turnover and 2000 watts to run. If you want to be sure, try to find the electrical specs for your AC.

Yes, it is possible to use a 'Y' cordset to tap into full power capability of the generator. However, the EU7000is is rated for 45.8 amps and can peak at 58.3 amps. The manufacturer recommends not exceeding 45.8 amps in load.

I have been looking for an optional remote start on this, you advertise you can get one? How much is it and what brand is it?
There is an aftermarket remote available but not from Honda, I purchased the remote from http://www.pinellaspowerproducts.com/view/HEUREMOTEKIT7/ and installed it myself in about 2 hours but they are not cheap. $359.00 for the unit and about $200 for installation if you can't do it yourself.

Remote start for the EU7000is are "To Be Dated" according to Honda Power Equipment. Hopefully they will be available in the near future.

Honda makes two wired remote kits, one with a 50' cable and the other a 100' cable, and a wireless kit with a range of 100'. At the moment remote kits are still not listed as being available for the EU7000is generator.

would i be able to run a refrigerator ,tv, ,14,000 btu air conditioner and a couple of lights at the same time.
Ideally cumulative wattage needs to be calculated to select a proper generator. Feel free to use Honda's Wattage Calculator to obtain an estimate if actual watt consumption information can not be directly obtained from your appliance(s).

The Honda base unit is gasoline, but a company called GenConneX just announced the first fully EPA certified LP and natural gas conversion kit for the EU7000is that includes a drop in replacement tank cover with throttle body adapter and propane tank hose.

No, this is a gas model only.
