The patent pending "no-bind" latching mechanism on the Husky 10 eliminates tension on the handle, allowing the flip lever to release and automatically lock in the next position, according to Coast.
The driver puts the operating handle on the unit in the unlock position and drives either forward or backward. This eliminates the need to get in and out of the truck to pull or twist the handle until it disengages. The Husky 10 features a composite design that replaces traditional roller assemblies, according to Coast. The glides are constructed of composite material with nylon pads that reduce the noise caused by metal-to-metal contact of traditional rollers.
The composite material construction of the slides reduces wear and stands up to the elements better than metal rollers, according to Coast. A balanced system allows easy movement along the 10 inches of travel. The Husky 10 is designed for fifth wheel units up to 26,000 pounds with a 2-inch kingpin, and can be used with Husky 16K and 26K fifth wheel hitches. The assembly can accommodate turns up to 45 degrees on short-bed trucks.
