I added Metal 90 degree fittings to both input and output side to allow seasonal installation inside my water compartment using the filter holder purchased separately from CW. Product works geat and the filter is easy to change. I have not noticed any taste or odor problems at 10 different camp gounds.
I installed the filter late Spring "04 and it worked almost flawlessly. The only problem I had was the ocassional tightening of the hoses. This was probably because I had the filter attached for several months in NH and the weather there had wide temperature fluctuations.
What I particularly found quite amazing was when I went to drain my hot water heater (10 gal model). The water (I have well water) had been in that tank for three weeks - there was absolutely no hint of any foul smell or sediment. It was crystal clear.
Except for the tightening, there were no other issues. I'll be purchasing the refill for next Spring.
I've tried many external filters over 35 years of rving. This filter is the best. Used it in areas where the water is terrible, it come out clean and odorless. It also doesn't decrease pressure or volumn of water like some others I've used. Good filter, does as it says, but its a little pricey. You get what you pay for, usually.
I have tried several different units and this one takes the cake. It works well and water pressure is great, even with everything turned on. It filters the water well. Just remember to take it out of your camper before storing it for the winter or you will end up buying another one like me.
This filter has lasted us over two years. We camp around 20-30
nights per year. It sets up so easy and filters all the water going into
the RV. It’s nice to have filtered shower water as well as drinking
water. Stores inside our compartment on a holder while traveling
and the holder is included,
I have an inside water filter but still always had the hose taste. No
matter what, I couldn't get rid of that taste. Then I decided to add a
better filter outside and I bought this one. I had the camper at my
house with a regular water hose hooked up to it followed by a drinking
water hose from the filter to the 5'er. I could not taste one ounce of
hose. Went camping for the Memorial day weekend and the whole
weekend didn't taste anything but great water. Highly recommend for
use. Love it!!!!
This filter was worth every penny. Every campground I go to, I have my filter. It did its job. I have to replace mine because I left it in the garage over winter. Keep out of harsh weather and it will last!!
I have owned this system for about 3-4 years now and it is very well
worth the money. Sure the filters a replacement filters maybe a lot but I
don’t have to buy bottle water any longer. It does remove the taste,
minerals, particles, etc that is in the water and is one of the best systems
I have ever owned. To hook it up is so simple just hook a hose to it as if
you’re hooking straight to your rv then from the filter to your rv. I am a
full time RVer and the filter does last a long time I change mine out two
maybe 3 times a year maybe. I would recommend the stand when you
buy the filter it helps a lot. If you want a non expensive water treatment
system but without all the hassle then this is what you need. ENJOY :)
Installed this filter about 5 months ago with filter holder #19939. It filters all incoming water supply which has stopped deposits in shower etc + the drinking water. It really gets rid of the plastic/rubber taste in the water. I installed it outside the RV so there will
be less to mess with & will remove it at winterization. I have a 40' park model RV. This filter really works well.
Have only used once. Had same water volume and same pressure. Good clean tasteless water. Have not tested to verify removal of specific comtaminents. I worry more about taste. Can't wait to try on coastal water. Hoping for the best. Easy set up and storing.
Will I need an additional hose extension to install?? Does this require the stand to use??
by AnonymousFebruary 09, 2016
Yes, a second drinking water hose will be needed to hook up this water filter, we have short lengths of hoses available like SKU#49173. A stand/mount is not required but does help keep the unit in place. We have a stand listed as SKU#18479 and wall mount as SKU#19939.

How many microns does it filter down to?
Do you also provide separate sediment filters for this?
by FairemanticFebruary 03, 2016
SKU#16008 is the filter included in the HL-200 kit and is 5 micron. If a second filter needs to be added on, you can use a disposable inline like SKU#16009 or a dual canister system like SKU#60047.
