I had looked at the older design and was concerned about the shape and stability in the wind, so when I saw this new design I jumped on it. I ordered this item on back order before they were available and received one of the first out. Set up was a breeze the Once I got to our camp location we set it up again in a different State and were watching Dish in fifteen minutes. After a quick call to Dish to give them our new location and we had local channels as well. It rained sideways that evening and we lost HD, but given the amount of rain, that may have happened on our home system.
A few RV neighbors spotted the new design and stopped by to check it out. They also liked to new low profile and look. If I was to rate it down on anything it is the inability to secure it with a lock. It would not be hard to cut the plastic handle, but given to light weight material I am not sure a fix for that is possible. I placed mine on the RV roof at the top of the ladder, so at least a thief would need to remove my
bike rack and climb up to get to it.
All in all, it is a nice unit, and this was my first attempt a RV satellite.
Pros: Easy to use, Quick signal acquisition , Easy set up
Cons: Rain will likely lose HD
