Very mixed feelings

I haven't used yet because I became so frustrated with first installation that I stopped and just threw my bike in back of SUV. The unit looks good and seems sturdy enough for 2 bikes, and fits easily on ladder, but when trying to fasten straps, I felt very insulted. The (too) short straps that are threaded thru rubber mounts are just plain wrong!! The Velcro is on wrong side so forget that. I never did figure out exactly how the manufacturer wanted them threaded because no way was right in order to wrap around bike, then thread through buckle (backwards?), then affix to Velcro. No way could they have been tested. If this helps, I do plan to keep because I have spent way too much time (twice) figuring out how I think I can safely mount and make usable. The long straps are fine for their purpose. I have spent close to 2 hours on it and haven't used yet. A good share of that time spent just continually saying over & over to myself...."what"??!! and "what the..."?? and "you've GOT to be kidding me"!! Fix the straps and you have nice product.
Pros: Inexpensive, Sturdy
Cons: Very difficult to mount bikes, Mounting straps are very poorly designed

How about a video? These instructions are absolutely useless. Product was easy to assemble and install, but trying to figure out the straps with the enclosed instructions was horrible. I still haven't figured it out and I'm mechanically inclined.
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Instructions are useless

Can't figure this one out

I have had this rack for several years and still can not figure how to secure the bikes to the rack. I gave up on it and let it sit for a while as I had no need for the bike. I went back to it recently and still couldn't figure out to attach the bike. There are straps, but also velcro on the straps which makes them almost impossible to use as the straps won't go through the buckles. I am not sure whether to use the straps or velcro or both. The instructions are useless.
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Mounting straps are very poorly designed , Instructions are useless
