Here is a video on how to install the Lend-A-Hand RV Hand Rail
My Wife and I installed the first of two in about five minutes. It was as simple as
marking four holes, drilling pilot holes and... screwing the screws into the holes. Now
our guests can use the rails to assist them in climbing the steps into the trailer.
Always wanted one, bought it on sale, price was right! I had looked at these at an RV sales place and they seemed a bit pricey and... they didn't have the white ones. When they came on sale I ordered one over the internet and got a great price. It shipped very quickly. I haven't installed it yet due to the weather but will be glad to have it in place
My wife wanted to replace the tiny handle on our Jayco and we really liked the retractable handles we see on many newer rv's. The ...item from CW looks great and was a snap to install! It did take some time for one to come in in white. A must have! Only reason it doesn't get a 5 is that the foam padding will be prone to cracking in the sun.
I installed one of these on my travel trailer to aid my wife who has a bad knee on entering and exiting our trailer. It worked exa...ctley as stated and in four years the finish has never chipped or rusted. I now bought a new fifth wheel and am purchasing another one for this trailer because of our satisfaction with the last one.
I wouldn't trust it to stop a fall, but it's great for
preventing one. Handy for hanging dog leases, etc. Be
sure to check the w...all thickness though- I pierced the
inside wall by about 1/8, I kept same length screws for
This item was received quickly, installed easily and makes entry to our camper much easier and safer for old and young alike. We m...oved the small strap handle from the outside of the door to the inside, where it assists people to take the first step out the door to get hold of the Lend-A-Hand. Great product. Highly recommend.
This is a quality product at a reasonable price. The included screws were not of good quality and broke even with pilot holes. I w...as attaching to a motorhome with metal studs. I purchased stainless screws of better quality and the installation went fine. The product
works as designed.
Purchased the Hand Rail for my wife which has back problems and needs the extra support to enter and exit the RV. Rail was easy to... install, I used a basic stud finder to ensure proper placement. Drilled holes and installed. The Hand Rail is very secure and gives much support and in it s closed position is equally secure. Recommend
this to anyone.
Easy to install with an electric screwdriver, removed the smaller plastic handle, and the 2 upper holes in my RV matched up perfec...tly with the top of the bracket on the Lend-a-hand, so I just had to screw in the bottom bracket and I was done! Sturdy, well made, locks in folded position with a positive click. Nice addition to any RV, gives you more stability when climbing up those 3 or 4 steps! And down, too!
These are far superior to the original small grab handles that all RV manufacturers put on the campers stock. If you have someone ...traveling with you who has difficulty going in and out of the RV, these a a great addition.
I've had Multiple Sclerosis since 1987. When we went to an RV show to look at an RV, I fell on on the steps when trying to get int...o it. We decided right then, we would need
something other than the standard hand rail when we bought an RV. When the time came, we had the dealership install
the Lend-A-Hand on our motor home. I still go up and down the steps slowly, but I don't have to have someone hold my hand when doing so.
We purchased this rv hand rail as our rv has 3 steps and they are kind of high. My
husband has had back and neck surgery and I h...ave had neck and knee surgery. It
works very well as a guide while exiting our camper and I use it as a helping hand up the steps getting in the rv. We have a small dog and I find that if we open the door and just have the screen door closed, we can move the rail over the screen door to keep the dog from trying to push the screen door open. Good purchase, fast delivery.
This is a very good product, packed well and easily installed. I removed the old, little
handle and in less than 5 minutes insta...lled the new one. I'm 70 and the step on our travel trailer is quite short, I've about fallen out a few times and decided that safety is a better idea. Now I hold my left hand on the new Rail and pivot out backwards and it is MUCH easier and safer.
This is a great product for our travel trailer. We also purchased and installed two of the
Lend a hand hand rails, one at the ga...rage service door entry at my parents house and
one at our own garage door service entry. The installation of these hand rails has
eliminated the worry of our parents entry up the stairs in their home as well as when
they come to visit our house. The convenient fold away design makes it very easy to
move the rail toward the wall in the garage when not in use. I would recommend this
product to anybody with stairs from their garage to the house. This is a must have in
After one of my little girls slipped on the last step of our travel trailer on a recent outing, I started looking for something to... add for safety. This was the perfect solution! Well
constructed, easy to install and a great addition to our trailer. I wondered why I didn't get this a LONG time ago! Folds in easy for travel. It says no sealant is required in the instructions but I still pre-drilled small holes and filled the holes and covered the screws with a silicone adhesive/sealant. Make sure to insert the screws through the mounting brackets before you coat them with sealant to get a good seal between the mounting brackets and holes in the trailer. Great product!!
My wife loves this Lend-A-Hand RV Door Rail. Our trailer has two doors and she never used the back door until I added this rail. N...ow she rarely uses the front door at all. Be aware that a mischievous family member can fold the rail in the closed position, and across the door, thus locking someone inside the camper (ask my wife). This is the only reason it did not get 5 stars.
The rail was a good investment for my trailer it helps the kid get in and out of the trailer and it was easy to install. Insalling... only taken 10min to do it myself just by following the easy step directions.
I love this handle. Easy to install, does a great job, and with the ability to fold toward the
front of the camper it adds an ex...tra layer of protection with keeping the camper door closed
well worth the money, If you are considering buying one, just do it, you wont regret it.

I am very pleased with this handle, the stock handle that came on my camper was to small and useless!!. I placed the order and wit...hin 4 days it arrived. The next day I installed it within 5 minutes. My 5 year old boy can reach it with ease and now you have a rail to guide you walking down the steps. Also A friend of mine showed me that before you pull away from your house or campsite to lift up and swing it towards the door, now you dont have to worry about the door coming open going down the road.
I got this when it was on sale. Shipping was fast. I used this on my boats large swim
platform so me and my wife would have some...thing to hold onto when we got in and out of
water. This thing works great for that. It folds down out of the way when not in use.
Our camper only had a small handle to hold onto to get in the camper. There was
really nothing to hold onto exiting the camper..... I got this to make getting in and out of
the camper easier and safer. It works as advertised. Easy to install, and it really adds
safety to entering and exiting the camper.
We just got our Hand Rail installed last week and have not actually taken a trip, but we
have used it a lot just cleaning up and... going in and out of our trailer. This is on the
bedroom door that we don't use a lot, BUT we happened to be in a spot that this door
was the most convenient to enter and didn't have the handy hand rail. We had to get our
step stool in order to get into the trailer. This is a great addition to our trailer entrances.
We ordered the product from camping world. The price and the
quality of the product was very good. Installation of handle
could ...not have been easier. It is working fine and does all
that we expected it to do. The fold back feature is very
handy and puts it out of the way. Thank you. Bob and Punkin
I bought two of these, not for my RV but, for my home. We
have three steps going down into the garage and it was
getting difficu...lt for my 89 year old father to get in and
out of the house. My husband secured them on each side of
the door frame next to the molding and now we all feel
secure going in and out of the house. They fold in both
ways if you want them out of the way. I highly recommend
these hand rails for security.
The handle will last awhile but the constant moving back and forth will eventually tear it away from your trailer. Would be great ...if they could make a larger handle that doesn't stick out quite as far that's stationary.
Really easy to install, the only problem was the provided screws were not long enough. Had to go get longer screws. Other than tha...t, it works great. I think that all campers should come with one of these.
If you go to the manufacturer product page here, the 'additional image' loaded to the page has measurements drawn out for the handle. After mounted, this handle can be stowed in left or right positions.
