What a mess. They have a horrible website with horrible instructions. Finally found out that they are not compatible with any new MACS!!! Snow Leopard is last update. Will not work with Lion or any new MACS. They cannot tell us when it will be ready. So no map updates or syncing with Address book until that is done. This one is being returned.

Bought the 9165T-LM, got it home tried to update it, no go; called tech support 2.5 hrs later determined it was defective, returned it to Camping World and got another, go home and updated it, works great. Leave on a 275 mi trip works good, hard to see with polarized sunglasses, anyway 2 days later take a short 20 mi sightseeing trip, it quits working, waited 6 hrs plugged it into 110V and it starts working, great. I head home today and guess what it stopped working tried all the outlets in the truck no go. I got my inverter out and tried that no go. I just got home 6 hrs later and it starts working again

Bought the 9165 got it home, charged the battery hooked it up to the computer, would not update so I called tech support, 2 hrs later determined unit was defective; took it back to Camping World got another unit, updated it works fine, headed out on a trip 2 days later it shut off and will not turn on. I found another down side is you cannot see the screen with Polarized sunglasses. Taking it back and getting the Rand unit, hope it will last a little longer.

I haven't used it very much. However,The time I did I find the screen size great as well as the visual directions . I think the voice could have a little more volume especially in a class A where road noise is a factor. Trying to get use to the inches versus feet and Semi in stead of RV (NO RV in the GPS) when establishing your rig profile is little bit getting use to. I rated as a four star because I really do believe it is GREAT!

I love all the GPS features of the Roadmate. However, getting a compatible phone to pair and download the contacts from your cell phone is a real pain. Magellan has not tested any phones with the 9165 for compatibility. I went to the Verizon store, tested a new phone once and it worked for a few contacts. I took home the new phone with 147 contacts. All the phone functions worked just fine. I could not download my contacts. after five days on the phone with Magellan, Verizon and Samsung, I was finally told the brand new phone was not compatible. I went back to the Verizon store. we found another phone that worked. We transferred my contacts to that phone then downloaded my contacts to the 9165. If you don't care about the contacts feature the GPS is great.

Had a chance to use the product on our first RV trip. A very nice concept, but some flaws. As far as height and weight specs they are in inches for height and length and width, a real pain. Also there is no setting for an RV specific vehicle. A problem on a roadway that will allow RV's but not trucks (Garden State Parkway in NJ specifically) and I'm sure there are others. This can lead to an unwarranted detour and added miles and time if you don't know better. volume seemed to automatically turn down , which with the noise factor in an RV is a problem. It had no home return prompt like a Garmin, just an itinerary prompt. The unit did have a lot of nice features, great screen, windshield mount and helpful locations prompts. Also kept giving me advertisements for products on the main screen while driving that were of no use then and annoying at best. Power cord could be longer, and mine came with a faulty fuse, an easy enough fix but... A good idea and potentially a great product, but some flaws that need to be addressed. hope they are listening for future buyers. Going to return it , and try the Rand McNally 7710.

This unit is specifically designed for RVers. The camp listings and RV services listings are right on the money. With a large screen, the unit is easy to view and follow. It is still relatively new for me, but so far so good. It replaced my old TomTom and I'm quite pleased. I only gave it 4 stars because I haven't used it that much and I really want to give a workout before I give it 5.

Just purchased and finally know where I am going. Old GPS was a nightmare. This is HUGE, no squinting or guessing! Perfect for a Motor home except 1 crucial element... even with the speaker full...you wont hear instructions on the highway unless everything is turned off, not accelerating or chatting about.... Was ok with radio off at city level speed and suppose that's when I need it the most. Hey Magellan, go get in a RV and try these things out first! Having said this, it's still louder than most. But to be truly RV ready....we need volume. Looked at the other units but the Blue Tooth swayed me....now if only I could hear who is on the phone, haha. Every other feature far exceeds expectations... definitely, worth the money and since no one has figured out the speaker thing, looks like the best buy, at least for me.

we used this unit for the first time From Farmington NM to Denver.......all worked well except the volume...it would always go to minimum sound after 10 min...I would then adjust to max setting and check green to set but it always went back to low.

A fantastic GPS. the only complaint I have is the Best Western advertising banner that keeps appearing, I find it very irritating. Other than that the unit performs better than advertised.

While I haven't had much need to use it yet, I have tried it out on the road as a test. After it was on and operating for about 30 minutes, it locked up! Got nothing. I had to turn it off and on several times...unplug it, read the little book and swear, but it did come back on and work like any other GPS. The main reason I bought this unit is for the fact of being able to program weight, height, width, the fact we are carring propane, etc., and bluetooth. I have used the bluetooth and that seems to work well. I have not needed to have the other issues challanged yet. In summary...all is well, time will tell, all is good so far. I hope it doesn't lock up with each use, if it does you will hear from again.

I have used it to go cross country in a car. Works great. I have not used the height restriction feature at this time with our RV. It did a good job locating gas stations, motels and resturants.

I have used it on Ashley trip and enjoyed all of it's features. I am looking forward to using in on a longer trip. I always worry about height restrictions and this will provide routes that will keep us on roads with enough clearance. The speaker phone function is wonderful.

I have only used this GPS for one trip, but so far it works great. I love the fact that you can pre-program the menu for different POI searchs and you can use it while moving. Need a gas station? Push the icon on the menu and it shows on the map all the local stations. Also like that it will show diesel stations since my tow is a diesel. You can also pre-program three screens of icons. Haven't had a chance to use the mult-destination routing yet, but will soon. Also, I think the exit information and ability to pull up campgrounds will be a big plus. Overall, if you have an RV and don't mind spending a little more money, the larger screen and flexible mounting are well worth it. It also comes with an excellent mount. I have purchased several mounts for previous GPS and cell phones and this one is as good as the high priced ones and very flexible. At first, I was disappointed that it did not have any external interface to the radio system to cut out the speakers when using the phone as generally the Bluetooth Interface on a GPS works through very weak speakers. However, this one is very loud and clear. It will still be necessary to mute the radio speakers when getting a call, but I can live with that for the simplicity of the design. As with most touch screens, the response if a little un-predictable when you push but this one works better than others I have used. Maybe its my big fingers! If you have a RV and are in the market for a GPS and don't mind spending a little more money, this is the one! You won't be disappointed!

I to found the 9165T a nice unit. I to upgraded the software and was very disappointed in the fact you cannot enter Latitude/Longitude into this unit. This should have been stated in the sales add. You can only enter zip code (general area) or an address ( if the road name is not in the database it cannot find it.) I am very disappointed in this unit because of the technology that is out there today. I have a 4 year old TomTom that I can enter the Latitude/Longitude into. I am really thinking about sending the unit back to Camping World. I will use my old GPS for the time being.

It is a nice unit, but the one they sent me doesn't have anything in it about about Good Sam Parks or the Trailer Life Directory. Camping World is marketing it as especially for RVers but it It is not built for Motorhomes - it is built for truckers and so is the Owners Manuel. Where the unit asks for information about the vehicle there are only answers for trusks and semies. The owners manuel doesn't even mention motorhomes or RVs or the Trailer Life Directory. I did the software update to vs 1.26 from the Magellan site and still find nothing on the unit about RV Parks so I think I am sending the unit back. If the units were not ready for Motor Home use as advertised then I don't thik that Camping World should be marketing them to us.
