Description

Make short work of aligning your trailer hitch over the hitch ball.
Luminescent yellow rods have magnetic bases that cling to the hitch ball and the forward-most flat surface of the trailer hitch coupler. Align the 2 rods in your rearview mirror as you back slowly toward the trailer. When the rod on the hitch falls off, stop and lower the trailer coupler onto the ball. Makes hitching up your trailer faster, easier and ends unsightly dents in your vehicle bumper.

I bought these for my husband and he loves them! I still stand next to the tongue, but I don't have to say anything! He can line up the truck perfectly on his own. Worth it!

I have never pulled a trailer before, much less attempted to hitch one. I don't have any help, so trying to do this solo sent me into a panic... until I found these. I stuck it on the very first try! I cannot recommend these highly enough- get 'em, you won't be sorry!

A Big Help

I can see that these would be invaluable if you were hitching up alone. They do provide a good visual reference, but I found I was still off to one side or the other. The problem was most likely that the area between sites really didn't allow me to get the tow vehicle completely straight in front of the trailer and needed to come in at a slight angle. Worth having.

I have been using these for the past 5 years - but ran over my last set by mistake. Design is unchanged - but it doesn't need any improvement, they work perfectly. No more getting in and out of the car to check my position and then having to move 'sideways' by 2. Cannot recommend strongly enough !!

Love 'em! Makes hooking up my gooseneck sooooo much easier. My hitch is just out of sight as I back up my pickup to my camper, so hooking up was always a stop and check approach. Now with the Magnetic Hitchin' Rod, I put it right in front of the hitch, and it is easy to see, so I can line up first time. When the gooseneck nudges the rod, I am where I need to be- get out, and drop the trailer onto the hitch. Just that easy!!!

I am typically alone when hooking up my trailer. It use to be back and forth, back and forth for several wasted minutes. With the hitchin' rods I can usually line up the trailer and vehicle on the first try. It makes me look and feel like a pro!

You can line up perfectly and drop your trailer tongue on your hitch by yourself in seconds with these...or save yourself the grief of getting your spouse's help while hitching. Worth every dime of their cost. My camping buddy loves these things so much that he pulls them out to show neighboring campers when he sees them trying to hitch up to leave...he probably has sold a couple dozen of these things by talking them up for Camping World!

I can back my truck up to the Travel Trailer alone, hitting the right spot usually on first attempt. Had purchased another brand and couldn't see it over my tailgate, these are tall and can be seen without any problem. Great Buy

I am usually very good at lining up but the distance has always cause a couple of back and forth out of the cab or the use of wife as guide. These are the best I have ever seen. They are tall enough and easy to see. They are extremely light and I have hung them in my front storage space with a quick clip and 2 washers screwed in to the side that they just latch onto with the magnet..up and out of the way.

Had purchased several others brands, none came anywhere close to these. Easy to place on hitch, Other brands did not reach over my tailgate resulting in not being able to see. These are tall and sturdy. Hit the mark every time now.

I got brave and decided to see if this product really work or not. I was surprised by how easy it was to use the rods. I was a tad off the mark on my first attempt but right in line on the second try. The key for me to was to back up very slowly and to get out to verify my bearings. On the second attempt I was comfortable with my bearings and completed the attempt hitting the mark right on without any markings or damage to my sister's SUV. Since I have to back up the SUV by myself these rods makes the job easier to do. This product is well worth the price especially for peace of mind.

We absolutely swear by these!! Hookup is sooooo simple!!! We just got a Jayco trailer, our first RV. The first we tried these, I had the tailgate open on the Jeep Grand Cherokee, and the tailgate hit the trailer rod before the hitch hit the ball rod. We closed the tailgate and tried it again and absolute success!!! Another neat thing is you can use one rod as a depth gauge to see that the trailer is cranked up high enough to go over the ball. These are inexpensive and they work!!

Excellent product! It saves me multiple times in and out of the truck, and it is so fast and reliable. No matter the weather or light I can align the hitch and it is right on! Being a woman is difficult with hitching and towing but this makes it so much easier. Kudos to the person that invented this product! You place the two rods, back up the truck when the truck side pole drops off tada! You are in line to hitch up and go.

I am a fairly new travel trailer owner. These Hitchin' Rods have helped me more than I could have imagined. I was amazed to how fast I hitched up my camper to my truck. It saved me time and frustration. This was the best money I ever spent. I would buy these things for double the price if I had to.

Best Thing Since Sliced Bread!

After reading other positive reviews, I bought a pair of these Magnetic Hitchin' Rods in the hopes of putting an end to all the guess work and multiple trips between the driver's seat of my tow vehicle to my trailer's tongue to check positioning. Let me tell you, this item works EXACTLY as advertised! I can position the hitch ball under the trailer's tongue in one quick shot solely by lining up the Hitchin' Rods in my tow vehicle's rear view mirror. I've had others watch me do this at RV parks and come up to me afterwards to ask me where they can buy a set. This is one product that I can't imagine being without... and a very reasonable price!

My husband really likes using these rods. The magnets are very strong and stay put on both the hitch and the ball. He can hook up the trailer in just a few minutes. He doesn't have to keep getting out of the truck to check his distance from the hitch. He is also glad he doesn't have the stress of me trying to help. :-) Thank you Camping World !

Very handy to use, but do not place on trailer or tow vehicle until several feet away, the magnets do not tolerate bump induced sway or sharp jolts from uneven terrain.

Have had mine a couple weeks, and love them. Easiest set I have used, and I think these will last. Easiest way to hook up to any trailer on your own. Take a look at the directions, and you will laugh at how easy they are to use.... Give them a try.

I drive a Ford P/U with a shell so it's not always easy to see however the first time I used this item it was raining so visibility was not good. I could not believe how good this worked. I was ready to hitch up on the first try by myself. This is one of those unusual items that actually does what it claims.

I used to get my exercise by getting in and out of the truck many times before I got the hitch lined up. I got it right the very first time with these Hitchin' Rods. What a concept. I guess I'll have to find another way to keep in shape now. Thanks to whoever came up with this idea.

Well worth the $20! I hitch up alone most of the time, so these really save me from having to hop in & out of the truck. Even when I have help, I prefer to use the rods & hitch up on my own. Great item!

Must-Buy Item For Any TT Hauler

June 04, 2007
I purchased a 'new to me' 19 TT within the past week. I've NEVER towed a trailer before, so I knew hitch/ball alignment was going to be a new and probably very frustrating 'experience' for me. I ran across these hitch-up helper poles while browsing through Camping World and blowing way too much money... Reading the instructions on the package, it just 'made sense' that something so simple would be incredibly useful, especially since I'll be hooking up on my own most of the time. I used these poles the 1st time just a few days ago. On my own, I backed up to the trailer & voila, pole falls off, I go into 'Park' and dropped the trailer right onto the hitch, 1st try! It took 20-30 seconds MAX! Also, no fear of screwing up my 2006 Jeep Commander by running the hitch into the back-end... I've since used them 2 more times during the camping trip, with the exact same result: A no mess, no squabble alignment in seconds. Buy these and I can guarantee you won't regret the purchase!

I've towed bumper pull trailers for over 40 years and just last month parted with a $20 bill for this toy. I liked the photo where you place one rod on the trailer ball and it gets knocked off when you're lined up.........and it works! Very easy to see. Saves your bumper and license plate. You can get 'spot on' with the first attempt. No hand waving or hollering.

I was skeptical about the reviews of the hitchin rods as I suspect many TV testimonials are faked by the manufacturer because they use actors. I bought the hitchin rods anyway because I can't back up worth a hoot and had nothing to lose. I am totally amazed! These rods are wonderful. Until I got these rods I had never backed the truck up to the trailer ever and was afraid of even trying. Even though I lined up perfectly the very first time, I'm practicing often and proving that the first time was no fluke. Honest, my husband has made fun of me for years and rightfully so because I have such a hard time backing up anything. He's not making fun of me now!

Works great with third reference mark

I'm a single full timer so I need to hitch by myself. With just the rod on the A frame, and the rod on the ball, I was off by the width of the ball the first few tries. I laid a squeegee on top of the third row seat in the center to act as a third reference mark. Lined up the squeegee handle and the two rods, when the rod on the ball fell off everything was perfectly aligned. All I need now is backup camara(s) and I can do everything by myself.

I had these when I had my travel trailer, I highly recommend them!! Makes hitching up by yourself easy!! Put one of these on your ball and the other in front of your A frame jack and line the two rods up as your backing up and when the rod on your ball falls over you should be just under the coupler and you can just fine tune it from there. I really loved these things.
