Good Price, Well Built, Retro-Fits Take Some Extra Work

I bought this to replace a single step on my old Komfort after lifting the trailer. The step is well built, the finish is high quality powder coat and overall this looks like it will last a long time. However, if you are doing a retro-fit like I did, plan on making your own brackets and doing some welding. The extra leverage of the second step makes bolting into just plywood a very bad idea. You need to secure this to the frame or you'll be sorry. Also, this comes with no instructions, so beware that you're on your own. Again, for the price, this is an excellent product...but if you aren't comfortable with fabrication, welding, drilling, etc., you better measure your existing step & bracketry to make sure that this will fit.

    Great product, but can't install

It could have been a 5 star review, but you will see why I chose to give it a 4 star. When I was ordering this item, I asked for the mounting width of the unit and the website showed it to be 24.39. The actual width is 25.38, making it impossible for me to install as a replacement. My mounting space is even 25. I am going to discuss this with Camping World and see if they will let me return it or if they have any recommendations other than cutting and welding. I will follow up with the results of that visit.

Earlier I had given a review of this product and the problem I had with the dimensions given on the product specifications. THIS IS A FOLLOW UP. I feel that the product is as good as you will find but the space I have on my TT and the mounting width of the actual steps would not allow installation. I contacted Camping World, discussed the problem and the next day they had UPS pick up the product at their cost and issued me full credit including the shipping costs. I am impressed with this action and will continue to shop at Camping World.

Step arrived in good shape via UPS. Installed in same location on the trailer and it fit exactly as the old one. Works fine. Keep in mind that it is 25 3/8 wide side to side where it mounts to the brackets. The old step was a Lippert as well, so no fitment issues. Thanks.
Pros: Easy, Lightweight, Sturdy, Folds compactly
