When installing the cover over a powered fan, there may be an obstruction on one side or the other (mine were on curb side of vent. Instructions say to install brackets on side to be hinged, then on the opposite side. I wanted the hinges to be on the road side and when I went to install the curb side hinges, there was an obstruction on the side of the vent where I needed to put the bracket, so I had to cut away a portion of the plastic obstruction. I have no idea what the function of that plastic piece is, but if the instructions had alerted me to that possibility, I could have located the road side brackets differently in order to miss the obstruction. Other than that one issue, I'm very happy with the covers. I went with black to keep the morning sun out of the bedroom/bath area for when I want to sleep in. I put them on 2 fantastic fans and two standard vents.

Great Vent Cover

Easy to install, keeps the water out of your vent. Deducted one star because the screen had come loose in shipping on two of my covers. They did snap back in place. The covers seem flimsy but that works in your favor during installation as you can compensate for any alignment issues.
