Wonderful!

I use this while my RV is parked in storage. I actually zip-tied it to the cabinet door next to the refrigerator. Then, when I finish cleaning the refrigerator and freezer, I use this to leave my doors completely wide open while sitting in storage. Never any mold or nasty smells. I make sure I wipe over every part of the freezer and fridge with the fresh scent antibacterial wipes, just to be safe. Perfect!

Big improvement to the stock door holder which only allows the door to stay open a crack. This product keeps the door open about 2 to 3 inches and allows for better air flow.

yes it holds the doors open but there is nothing from keeping the doors from flopping all the way open if you have to move your camper. Park your camper then install the door holder.

Refrigerator Door Holder

The door holder works great. It helps keep the refrigerator door open to help prevent mold and allows the refrigerator to air out and dry when camper is in storage. It was given 4 stars, cause the fit was loose and it likes to slide so you have to make sure you have it positioned just right to get the proper hold with the refrigerator door. I would recommend the holder.

i procrastinated for way to long in getting this. No matter what I used or how much I cleaned freezer/refrigerator out, there still was small amounts of mold when we used the RV again. I have had no problems at all. I will recommend to all my RV friends!!!

Item was not made to fit my frig- gap too wide.

The gap that this item fits in was less than what my doors measured. So needless to say it did not do much. I did make it work however by glueing a 5/16 board on one side. Most people don't have my resources that I have. My frig is a dometic 2852. It should be adjustable on its own. Works good as it should now.

Good thing to have

Maybe it works better for other fridges but with mine, it doesn't keep both of the doors together. When the RV slightly moves when I walk around, my top door opens more than the lower one causing the devices to fall out. I ended up using a small Valcro to keep the doors from moving and from opening all the way.

Mold no more

It's such a simple solution to a persistant problem. Every time we are getting our trailer ready to head out camping we needed to look into the refrigerator to check for mold. Not any more. This devise is so simple in design but it works great. No more mold!

Works on Most Doors

March 15, 2012
It is just like it states. It works on most doors, but not ours. The distance between our refrigerator door and the freezer door was to far apart and the holder didn't work what so ever. Rather than return it, because there wasn't any other options, I cut some pads (from an old mouse pad) and glued them on both sides and now it works like a 5 star product.

I have used this product for 3 years. It works great. I found that the farther you slide it in the wider the doors stay open. Easy to use. Easy to store.

This door holder doesn't work as advertised. I still can use it to hold the fridge doors open, so that they can thaw out and dry.

disconnect battery when in storage

Bought this to keep doors of Dometic open while in storage. (They aren't meant to keep doors closed while moving.) After trying to hitch up for two trips only to find a dead battery and inoperable power jack, we realized that the battery must be disconnected while in storage or the light in the refrigerator will come on when the trailer rocks the least bit from blowing wind.

I too have used this product on a Dometic refrigerator and have had no problems except when I forget to close the doors before moving the trailer.

Ours works great! Holds the doors slightly opened when the RV is parked and prevents the doors from either closing or swinging open. We have a Dometic fridge, so maybe that makes a difference.

Needs just one more thing.

Like everyone else's review, I discovered that this device simply falls our of place making it fairly useless, unless you consider the fact that one gets some amount of exercise bending over to pick it up off the floor. I modified mine to make it work better - I just added Velcro. I put a patch of the the soft-side self-adhesive unto the refrigerator where I want the device to stay put. And on the flat end of the device I placed the hard-side of the Velcro. Now the unit stays in place much better. Why the folks that devised this device couldn't figure this out for themselves concerns me. If they start selling it with this deluxe option, I hope they remember where they learned this trick and cut me in on the royalty action!

Mine managed to fall out during storage allowing doors to close. Next time I'll add some tape to keep it in place. The extras for coolers work well. I hope I'll be able to find them when I need them again.

I agree,..Does what it's sold to do, keeps the mold away. Too bad there isn't a way they could make it attach to the latch on the fridge to hold things steady. It was an in store impulse buy, and i'm glad I did it!

The door holder works well when used for its intended purpose. It definitely isn't designed for transportation. Sure beats the heck out of wiring them back to the bathroom door knob. Mind you they are only going to be used when the unit is in storage.

We brought our 5er home, parked it and when we went to get ready for a trip the fridge was full of black mold. Bought one of these and no problems since. As for holding the doors when moving, I don't think it was meant for that.

Works great! I used to try to prop the doors open with plastic cups but these would always come loose at the least amount of motion inside the camper and the doors would close. Keep in mind this is only used while camper is in storage and not for travel.
