This is a great idea, We got the fan for our two dogs that travel with us. The dogs love the fan. We use the fan when we leave the dogs in our van when go shopping, it keeps them nice a cool. We are thinking of buying two more for other uses.

I use only the battery power fan feature, love that the two fans can be tilted for indirect air movement. It fits perfectly into the window of my gooseneck trailer. The fan is very quiet, just a soft hum and it runs for several nights on a set of batteries. However, only Duracell batteries fit. If you use Everready, they are just shy of continuous contact and it will not operate. Duracell has a slightly larger positive knob on that end of the battery. Very strange.
