As we do mostly dry camping I seldom use the RV's furnace. I use the Olympian heater
instead. It requires NO battery power and is almost perfectly silent (you have to put your ear right up next to it to hear it at all). It's propane consumption is much less than that of a regular RV furnace. I have a 2004 Titanium 32E34 5th wheel trailer which can
effectively be divided in half by closing the door between the living, dining, cooking area and the bedroom, bathroom area. The heater easily keeps the living portion of the trailer toasty warm with outdoor temperatures a little below freezing. We leave the small kitchen window open about 3/4 inch and the roof vent open about 1/2 inch. We turn the heater off when going to bed and back on again about an hour before rising. The furnace is set to come on at 55 degrees but it seldom does during the night. I highly recommend this heater. I have owned one of these heaters for 5 years now and it has performed flawlessly since day 1.
