We purchased a brand-new trailer and to our dismay the lateral-overhead cabinet door had
to be held-up with one hand while getti...ng supplies out. This maneuver was difficult and I
finally conceded to allow the cabinet door to rest on my head while I retrieved what I
needed. This was not an acceptable, long-term solution. I saw the door support and knew
immediately that was what my cabinet door needed. I installed this door support on ether
end of my cabinet door and they worked perfectly. I could not be happier with this product.
I would recommend this product to any RV'er who has overhead cabinets that open
laterally and need both hands to retrieve supplies.
We received our order very quickly. It would have helped to have some instructions included, but by using the picture that we foun...d on the Camping World website of the item
installed, we were able to install them. They work great and it so nice to have the cabinet doors stay up.
We had a slight delay in receiving the supports because of a glitch with the payment
process. Once that was sorted out they prom...ptly arrived via mail. As mentioned in other
reviews there are no installation instructions, but I googled it and found some. Actually
very easy to install and they work perfectly. Would highly recommend.
Great product and does exactly what you'd think, once they're installed correctly. VERY EASY TO INSTALL if you pay close attention... to the positioning of the screw holes before you start. There are NO INSTRUCTIONS with this product and they're simple enough to install, but you have to install the top part near the inside or the door won't close. I put my first one in with the top mount too far to the outside.
Installation is a little confusing without instructions. There is a video on YouTube about installing these, but didn't help much.... Our camper doors are 10" high and 21" long. I found only one support was needed for each door, two come in a package. To install, measure to see where the door frame meets the back of the door. I reached inside from an adjoining door and marked the location of the frame with a fine tip marker. Removal of the door makes installation a lot easier. Measure down 1/8 to 1/4" from the location of the top frame to allow the door to close without the rod base interfering. Measure in 1/4" from the location of the side frame member to allow for the offset of the other end of the rod. Drill pilot holes and install the base with the screws provided. Make sure the curved side is toward the inside and the flat edge is toward the outside of the door. The support should be installed vertically so the rod is along the side of the door. Reinstall the door. Push the door up against the ceiling. Install the round end of the rod on the inside edge of the door frame with the screw provided. Install the screw through the recessed hole. Don't push/pull the rod in or out. Install it as it is. Leave the screw a little loose as the support will rotate on the screw when opening and closing the door. If you have more than one door of the same size, use the same measurements for each one. The installation is really easy once you have the right measurements.
The square mount that installs to the door is on a hinge and swivels. The other end that mounts to the frame will have enough free play to allow the support to move back and forth.

These are intended for holding the cabinet doors open, yes.
