With a sale coupon, bought the 30-amp unit in June 2009 for a cross country trip. Used this in conjuntion with an autoformer that boosts campground voltage if too low or pulled down low by multiple RVs using too much power. The autoformer malfunctioned and boosted normal voltage too high. The Surge Guard detected this anomoly and cut off power to the motor home, possibly avoiding damage to lights and electronics. It may have saved its own cost in avoided repairs. The Autoformer problem was ascertained through use of a multimeter and by reading the indicators on the Surge Guard. The unit will also cut off power to the RV if voltage drops too low. While the unit does perform a check for campground power source miswires, I didn't experience that problem. To avoid theft, the unit is kept locked in the utility cabinet. My major complaint is the power leads at each end are so short that adapter cables are required for my installation. Both cables should be longer.

It seems to be working properly. No problem so far. It did fit the park outlet that I'm a seasonal camper at. It's been installed for a week now. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 due to the campground power supply not be taxed because of it being fall season. When summer comes and everyone's AC is on, then we'll see for sure.
